Will doesent do the yelling at his son move in the book, Dolarhyde just attacks out of nowhere and loses in the struggle. The film version is better because Will actually uses his psychological knowledge.

If that's the case then i'm glad they changed it. It made Dolarhyde empathise with the boy so that no matter how angry he was he wouldn't take it out on him as he'd know that the boy wasn't in on the trick, like Francis his pain and humiliation were real and would find it incredibly hard to kill a child and have that pain he knows so well as the last thing he feels.

Gomez1915 you’ve not read Hannibal Rising then or seen the movie? Because he does kill young lads around his age (but in his defence they was evil little bastards who bullied him when they found out who he really was and where they was all now living! I won’t say anymore Incase you’ve not read the book or seen the movie, I don’t want to spoil it!) so he has killed children and threatened them! It tells the story of Count Hannibal Lecter VIII (which is his actual proper name and title!) as a child and teenager who actually came from a very rich and well known family during the world war 2 and goes on to explain the actual event of who and what turned him from an innocent well loved and loving child from Lithuania 🇱🇹 (where he’s actually originally from!) to the number 1 voted all over the world, the most iconic villain ever in movie history! that we all know and love, but all of us know damn well if he was to “invite us to a dinner party?” We’d all say politely as we possibly can do without trying to offend him, that “we’re very sorry but unfortunately we can’t this time.” (Or something very close along them lines!) Because there’s a very high chance we’d be eating the last person who pissed him off (well I wouldn’t I’m a vegan, but I’d still question what he prepared for me.) and could actually end up on the menu for his next dinner party!?! ❤️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️ But seriously if you’ve not read the book or seen the movie I highly recommend it, both of them in fact! Hannibal Rising it’s called. XoX
@river-phoenixlunapavier2641
@river-phoenixlunapavier2641 5 лет назад
Walt Blackadar also did you know that in this scene most of the time it’s an actual piece of broken glass/mirror that was used? The fake ones they was trying to use kept braking or the end kept snapping off on when the tooth fairy pressed it up against Will’s son’s face, plus they kept changing the lights around to highlight the piece of fake mirror, but nothing was working, they couldn’t get the light reflection right to make it standout and look like a real mirror. That’s why Ralph Fiennes is holding the real piece of wrapped up tightly in thick material one end and holding the young child actors face as tight as he can without hurting him so the young boy didn’t move his head to much Incase he accidentally cut or stabbed himself in the face or his eye by moving his head to much to the left. So his parents and the actor agreed for Ralph to hold him tight without hurting him and also gave Ralph the free movement to make it look as realistic as possible by holding him tightly by the face and putting the glass as close to the young boys face knowing he was in full control! Evin M at the time of its release it a lot of people because of the cretins, sorry I meant critics didn’t like this movie, the same with the origin story of Hannibal with the Hannibal Rising movie. So it was very underrated both of them was compared to the first two movies. It’s only now years later that people including a lot of the cretins (god damn it I need to remember that’s not what their called!) I’m sorry again I mean the critics who gave the movies bad reviews have now come to their senses and admit that the movies are not as bad as they said they was and that on second viewings years later they changed their original reviews about these last two movies and that they do in fact especially this one is a worthy addition to the Hannibal movie collection! Don’t forget this movie and the origin movie was released at a time when most people would listen to the critics reviews instead of judging movies for themselves, that’s why they didn’t do to well at the box office. And the reason why some people still aren’t 100% sure about the fourth movie is because it doesn’t have Anthony Hopkins in. Which if they’d read the book they would realise how ridiculous that would have been found him to show up in that movie because it’s the story of his childhood and who and what made him the person that he grew up to be that everyone knows and loves. But you know damn well if he invited you to one of his dinner parties you’d politely decline in the nicest possible way without offending him, because you know you’d be eating the last person who pissed him off and know that there’s a high chance you’ll be next on the menu! LoL 😂 Joking aside it is only the last few years people have finally started giving this movie and the fourth one the credit they both deserve, and a lot of them people have admitted they never watched them when they first came out because of the reviews! XoX

@@river-phoenixlunapavier2641 Hannibal Rising was universally panned by critics and audiences. Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon were amazing films with compelling characters, and Hannibal wasn't as great but definitely held it's own. The 4th film was nonsense; literally turned one of the most compelling villains of all time into a rinsed and reused anti-hero type, and was just poorly written from start to end. I bet Will’s son in this scene was probably more scared of his own father than the tooth fairy, because of how his father just switched on him (to save his life obviously but he didn’t know that in this moment!) telling him off, calling him names, taking the piss out of him (NO PUN INTENDED!) and threatening him for peeing himself, because his father has never been or spoken to him that way before. You can see the look change to upset and confusion in his face and eyes when Will starts yelling at him! He’s probably use to his father work and knows bits of what he does helping catching the bad guys. So even though he was scared of the tooth fairy more so with a piece of broken mirror digging into his face, I think his father frightened him more because of it being out of the blue and character for his father to speak to and threaten him that way!?! 4:10 What's really sad is that in some states, those extra few shots to the head would be considered an execution, and she could have been tried for murder. She likely wouldn't have seen a conviction, but the fact that it could land her in court is infuriating.

"Those extra few shots to the head [...] could land her in court [and this] is infuriating." What a utterly disgusting human being you are. Completely devoid of understanding how a state under the secular rule of law must operate. That you take this fictional scenario of a horror movie to derive rules for the real life is a sad statement about your frame of mind.

Care to elaborate? >That you take this fictional scenario of a horror movie to derive rules for the real life is a sad statement about your frame of mind. Horror movies bring fear to the viewer by making them empathize/sympathize with characters in an immersive setting and situation. If this were a supernatural horror movie that took place in some alternate reality, then you'd have a point. But this is set in the real world and what we just witnessed was a home-invasion followed by a shootout. Events like this happen all the time in the real world. What exactly is your problem?

It's a point that has been used for several trials. My own take on it, shootout and victim probably knows they'll pass out or be incapacitated soon, believes threat still there, and gives spouse boom headshot advice. Soon to be dead mf is indeed still a threat and she reacts accordingly. No bill, imo.

Man as good as this scene is. It just doesn’t even compare to the way Dolarhyde got taken out in the show. Especially how the specifics of his death are foreshadowed throughout the series. For instance, Hannibal slashes Will open the same way Will opens up Dolarhyde. And earlier in the final episode Will refers to D as “a man with a freak on his back” which of course foreshadows Hannibal literally jumping on his back to bite out his throat. Plus even though Ralph Fiennes nailed this role with perfection, the Francis Dolarhyde from the show, portrayed excellently by Richard Armitage, was MUCH more intimidating imo. This is reflected in how easily he manhandles his opponents as well as how much they have to do to actually take him down. To this day that’s one of the best fight scenes I’ve ever seen on television. I’ve probably watched it close to thirty times if not more. No joke.

All the actors that played Francis were great in their own regard. Tom was natural creepy race had some of the best acting and the coolest tattoo. Richard captures the one from the book the best in my opinion, (especially with the speech impediment when the dragon is not in control as in the book) but I really thought his tattoo was underwhelming.
@Memnoch_the_Devil
@Memnoch_the_Devil 8 месяцев назад
I wouldn’t argue with any of that. I loved the book, and all three adaptations of the story. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. As do the portrayals of each character. I also agree about the tattoo in Hannibal (show). It was too colorful in my opinion, although I did like how they played with the design when Francis was exercising those specific muscles. If I had any complaints with the Red Dragon arc in the show, it would be the tattoo, and the CGI scene with Reba and the tiger. I feel like that could’ve been executed better visually.

I had new windows in because of the hurricanes. I guess I nearly froze to death one night during a snow bomb storm like happens in Vancouver sometimes. My ma came in and demanded I close the window I opened because I needed more air, but I was asleep. I used my walking stick to yank the window closed against the pull of the storm. Anyway since my mom is quite scared of burglars it's been a closed-window-winter.
