tips for herbivores when u start of as a juvinile its best u hold q to sniff until the scent pops up then find a near water source that is surrounded with trees and bushes for u to hide in . when your thirsty approuch the water slowly get your fill then hide in a tree/bush same for when ur hungry . after when u grow your still pretty vulnerable bec your a "fresh adult" . my personal favourite herbivores are diabloceratops and gallimimus if u get enough practice on either of those then u would be pretty overpowered . diabloceratops are useless but adorable during juvinile stage but trust me it will be all worth it when its an adult when dibbles (short form for diabloceratops) are adults they have VERY good bleed resistants and VERY good stamina and a good bleed damage andddd they are quite speedy they can take on any small-middle tier carni and their speedy enough to outrun and out-stam what they cant take on . gallimimus takes 90 minutes to grow so i suggest it for beginners, they are fast ,have good stamina, and if the galli is a good player it can take down utahs,dilos,carno and allo . its basically immortal against mid tier and smol tier if the galli is a skilled player tips for carnivores for beginners i suggest u start of on dilo or utah and carno dilo has the best night vision in the game and has one of the best calls (my opinion) dilo has very good bleed damage and a decent speed , in packs at night dilos can easily take down apexes if their smart (im personally a dilo main , and i like to make salty rex mains suffer ;D ) dilos take 1.30hours to grow utahs are basically speedy , they have good turn radius , ok stam regeneration and ok bleed , their the best dinos for beginners bec they dont take long to grow like apexes ( apexes take 6-7hours to grow to full adult) utahs have the same growth time as dilo if i can remember correctly carno's are speedy they have good stam rengeneration ,nice bleed and they arent bad for beginners they take 1.45hour to grow if im not wrong. the only downside is their shitty turn radius controls: calls : if u click 1 you would make a long and loud call that can be heard over great distances , that is your broadcast if u click 2 that is short and rather adorable, that is your friendly call if u click 3 you would make a loud and obnoxious sound , that is your threaten call if u click 4 it would sound like your afraid of something , that is your surrender/danger / OMFG THERES A REX call W,S,A,D is trot , Z is walk to go back to trot u click z again and shift for run ( u can change it in esc>settings ) some herbivores have two attacks right click and left click (paras,triceratops,stego,anky,shant,cama) right click is headbutt for para, triceratops and shantungasaurus left click is stomp for triceratops,shantungasaurus,camarasaurus and para have a special kick attack in left click obviously stego and anky have tail-swing attacks left click ( left click= left swing-attack / right click= right swing attck) if someone gives u a nest/group invitation click F1 if u want to accept and F2 to reject if u dont want to. hope u find these tips/controls useful and sorry if its tooooo long haha

16:48 that’s one of the the reasons their remaking the game, all the rex mega packs roaming around is a big problem, although there are rules on servers and all, it’s still an issue, that’s why there will be no apexes (trex,etc) in the initial update, plus all the crappy coding done by developers that are now off the team, I’m glad their doing the recode. With new dinos, (tenontosaurus, troodon) new mechanics, such as eating different plants as herbie to make you grow faster, it’s really big. exited too see you play it. you earned a sub my friend. (P.s, sorry this comment is so long lol)

To look behind yourself when walking: quickly switch from pressing “W” to pressing “S” while turning your camera behind you. It’s a bit tricky to get a hand on but it works. You can do the same with looking to your side while holding down “A” or “S” And a great server to play on I would suggest is “Isla Nycta”. They are Anthomnia’s server, and there are some well set rules, and people are quite vocal and nice there in chat at least.

Using A and D allows you to turn your head while running. It takes a bit of getting used to at first. 90% of the dinosaur calls you are able to identify whether it’s an herbivore or a carnivore by how mean it sounds. Some calls are just confusing Unless the sound has a direction in the game world (meaning turning your head you are able to find the direction it comes from), it’s just ambiance. The loud call that sounded like a drunk guy screaming in the distance was a pack of Allosaurus. The call soon after was an Avaceratops, a small Ai which runs around and makes lots of noise. There are four types of ai, each of which make considerable noise. Ai, velociraptor are small dinos which will attack any juvenile dinosaurs they find. These are different from the playable Utahraptor, which look like the Velociraptors from Jurassic park. Other helpful tips include: Ai only spawns around hungry carnivores, meaning they can indicate the presence of carnivores when you are an herbivore. Talking in chat causes your dinosaur to make noise that other players can hear and track down. The static HUD option in settings keeps your stats on screen at all times, instead of appearing every once in a while and then disappearing. Some dinosaurs like the Dilophosaurus have better night vision than other dinosaurs, and can see three times farther than other dinos can when it gets dark. When a carnivore crouches, it gets a speed boost that lasts for a short period of time once it starts running. Running while bleeding multiplies the damage applied to your health, so walking or standing still is better than running. You cannot die from bleed while sitting down, it will take your health to 10% but will not kill you. The footsteps of dinosaurs can be seen in scent view, as can blood that drips from your dinosaur. Running in a zigzag pattern can make it more difficult for your tracks to be followed, as can crouching. Falling certain distances can break your leg, which causes your dinosaur to limp and leaves it unable to run until the leg heals. Sitting down will cause it to heal faster. The T-Rex has a chance to break legs when it bites. Dinosaurs like the Dilophosaurus, Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Diableceratops, and the Triceratops apply more bleed damage than other dinosaurs when they attack. Carnivores will often use bleed to kill other dinosaurs instead risking taking damage by getting bitten. You can join groups with other people who are the same dinosaur as you. By pressing tab it displays a list of players in game. By pressing the plus next to someone’s name, you can invite that player to your group. In a group the usernames of other players are visible above their dinosaur, as is their pfp. Both names and pfps can be disabled in settings. You also have a group chat that only members of your group can see and use. Local chat applies to all dinosaurs nearby that are the same species as you, but not to other species. Left click is your dinosaurs attack. Some dinosaurs like the Triceratops and Camarasaurus have a second attack by pressing right click. The Pachy has a headbutt attack that does high damage to Utahraptors.

“This is the game I dreamed of as a kid....” Same, I’m loving this game. I would also love to see it venture into animal kingdoms. Like a game like this but based in the African wild lands. And one based in an underwater environment. One based in the micro world of bugs! So many ways to flip this one idea.

I absolutely love this game. Love playing and love watching videos of others playing it. You don't really appreciate how terrifying it is until you hear huge footsteps approaching.

6:25 WASD are the walking keys, so if you look in some direction but want to walk in another direction you'd use A, S or D. W is just forward. Another thing to know is that if you press Z you walk slower, which is great to use if fighting and having to turn around quicker. Oh, and carnivores have the ability to "ambush" which is when they crouch, they have to stay like that for a certain time for a speed, so it's a good thing to stay away from a crouching carnivore. You can not smell while it's raining though, which is pretty bad(but realistic). *AI's:* Velo, Ava, Oro and Taco.(as people call them). *The roars:* 1: brodcast 2: friendly 3: aggressive 4: help or something F: the same as when you say something in chat *Extra* Oh and also, do you play The Isle on Steam? Quick tip to keep you safe while playing as a herbivore- As you play the game you'll learn that carnivores have to eat too, obviously, but don't have access to other players all the time. The game provides hungry carnivores with AI Dinosaurs that spawn in around them. (You'll learn what the AI calls are, the one you called a Para was actually an Avaceratops) AI that spawn are Avas, Oros, Tacos, and Velociraptors. Once you learn the calls on your own, and hear some AI spawning near you, don't stay in the area for too long because that means there are carnis nearby. Same case if you're a carnivore, if you're not hungry enough for AI to spawn (your hunger drops below 75-50%), that means someone else is close by.

Half the video is you giggling in the most adorable way ever aha. I do not play the Isle but as far as I know running over rocks is the quickest way to break a leg (and probably dying to some carnivore passing by)

really easy to do - if you are walking forward press w and a or d and look behind you - I love the isle so much! I'm a Utah main but herbies are easier to start off with because when you sniff your food lights up - for a carnivore you have to listen and hunt for it

Tips from me, a veteran of da isle: To run forward and look behind, try holding w + a/d depends which side ur looking at, you can also hold S when looking entirely backward and walking forward to walk and look behind 1 is broadcast 2 is friendly 3 is threaten 4 is scared (Roars ^^^ Smaller dinos take less to grow, such as utah, pachy, galli,dryo Trike, rex and giga take the longest to grow, also they have a sub adult growth stage You cant smell in rain Carnivores can smell while trotting,standing or walking, but herbivores only when standing.

Great to see this game on your channel, glad you enjoyed it :) Been playing for awhile so I'll give you a quick rundown to help. You got most of the basics and did really well first time. Survival (the gamemode you played), is the main gamemode- you start as juvi and grow your dinosaur yourself whereas on Sandbox you can pick any growth stage (e.g starting at adult), and also have access to more dinosaurs- the less complete ones which aren't really ready for survival gameplay such as shantungosaurus and spinosaurus. On some survival servers you can play them but it's not usually as complete. Progression is an older mode of the isle and I would recommend sticking to survival and sandbox. Also with servers, alot of them have certain rules etc that tend to be in their individual discords, maybe stay away from semi-realism and realism servers until you have your handle on the game as they often have alot of regulations for gameplay c: As for looking behind you it can take a bit to get used to it, I rightclick my cursor and turn it but you have hold S instead of W in order to continue moving forwards without turning. When you come to play carnivore you'll find the AI creatures vital (Avaceratops, Orodromeous, Psittacosaurus, Velociraptor). The noise you thought was a para was an ava. Avas, oros and tacos are completely passive, and have a nice pattern of movement to help you catch the faster avas but velos will attack but are easy to kill if you don't panic. Most things can one-shot them. A few dinosaurs can also jump (space) e.g utahraptor, pachycepholsaurus, dryosaurus Attack is left-click, and some dinosaurs have right-click as an alternate attack Press Z to switch between trot and walk If you wish to nest it's B (has to be on smooth terrain, can be bit like JWE screaming terrain constraints, and you must be female) Also, there is another mechanic for carnivores, excluding adult carnotaurus, where you crouch until your stamina flips to a 'powered up' look. Go straight into sprint from this and you'll have a few seconds (time depended on dinosaur) of your fastest speed as that creature. As for maps, there are three current maps in the game, V3 (the map you played on, largest and most popular), Thenyaw (a smaller map) and the testlevel map which isn't a survival map but, as it suggests just a testing level of blank squares and a few structures (most often used for deathmatch servers). V3 is the one I would recommend staying on for now- quite a good map to get your bearings on and Thenyaw has a few weird bugs, I mean it's personal preference but V3 has a more variety in landscape and in generally most enjoyable to play on. You can google the isle maps, and you can also search for the isle interactive map, where you can paste your coordinates (to get them, go to your character menu and in the top right, click to copy them) to see your exact location. After a while you learn you way round and don't need to use the maps as much or at all. Locations have names, such as Twin Lakes, Port, Trike Mountain- all tend to be hotspots for lots of dinosaurs. I've already gone on wayyy too long with this so I'll leave it here but happy to try and help with any questions you have of the game, and great video as always c:

to look around while running (lets say left) you would continue to hold the [shift] button to keep sprinting but instead of pressing the [W] button, you would press [d]. If you wanted to look behind you press [s]. :^) hope this was helpful also to smell things hold [q] until the navigation bar appears at the top of the screen (as a herbivore you have to be standing still) additionally i would recommend playing on the "Official Servers" for the game, as you get the best experience from them :) to find them go into the server list and type Official into the search bar, then click Refresh to see the new results. have fun surviving XD hope you enjoy the game.

You did better then my first time on The Isle :D I definitely didn't reach adult with my first dino :D For server i would recommend Hunting grounds as server with nice rules or Asura for no rules, or official servers as the middle ground. The Isle channels i like to watch and could help you learn are 2B2V (a lot of fun videos, also great playe), Brakbabore (a very nice hunting vids), Pesky (Carnotaurus master) and last but not least Sticky Utah (pretty much master hunter), and you already mentioned Beaver :)

Playing in deathmatch servers is a good way to learn the basics. The isle is also being remade, so everyone will be relearning everything.

Pachy is kind of a difficult starter dino, its growth time is pretty long and as an adult it can only really take utahs and dilos, which brings me to good starter dinos, utah is always a good pick, it's pretty balenced and with skill you can take on anything in the game pretty much, dilo is similar but it rules the night and bleeds, so hit and run tactics are best with it, on the herbivore side I would recomend mia, dryo, or dibble, all are pretty good and offer different playstyles. The best tip I can give is to feel the game out as you go, you'll eventually be able to recognise dinosaurs just by their calls and pick up other useful skills like that as you play more

At the night portion, I was really expecting to hear something like the distant Tyrannosaur roar from The Lost World, still gives me chills that moment :)

So idk how others do it but I look around while moving by ... switching the direction (WASD) and looking around with the camera. It can be confusing at first, but like if you're walking foward and looking forward you hold W to walk ... but if you want to move the mouse to look around you switch to A (continue left) or D (continue right)... or to look behind you you can continue moving with S ... the arrows don't move in the direction your dino is facing but rather in the direction your camera is facing. After Recode/Evrima, however, Dondi said he's adding improvements to looking behind you while moving. I think he has planned to use alt to free look while still moving forward (Alt Turn is being removed as they're fixing turns)

If you hear a strange, warbling call in the night - RUN. That's a dilo and they're never alone. They deal so much bleed you'll take three steps and flop over from blood loss, and they WILL see you before you see them.

The isle is a very sound based game and the more you learn the sounds every dinosaur makes the easier it gets.

Here's a fact about the pachycephalosaurus. They actually could not have possibly hit each other head to head as their necks weren't strong enough. Instead it is believed they may have hit each other and enemies in the side of the body or leg to allow maximum damage to be dealt without breaking their own neck under the force of impact. I love the pachycephalosaurus and I have always tried to learn new facts about dinosaurs and this game is absolutely amazing to allow people to be their favourite dinosaur

I first played this earlier today and I was a starving little Utahraptor. With a stroke of luck I got found by a group of Carnotaurus and got fed and protected. I don’t know who they are but I thank them from the bottom of my heart

The theropod you saw across the canyon was an Allo, its also what you heard roaring before, the one you said sounded big. The animal you heard by the lake that you thought sounded like a Para was an Ava, an AI animal that only spawns around hungry carnivores. So that means there was something nearby. The animal you heard by beach was a Juvenile Carno, basically no threat to anything but fast. Side note, you also picked the worst survival animal. Pachy is literally a worse version of Maiasaura that takes longer to grow. It gets bled out by Utah in two bites while it takes three to kill it, and it runs faster then you. And you're one out of two animals that are viable prey for a lone Carno.

Yeah, when you hear an AI broadcast calling, that's usually a sign that there are carnivores near by... ;)

Woah i remember playing the isle for the first time i was so terrified. I think it is about a year or longer actually. But here some tips (and just so you know my english is not the best) (Im sure you already know some stuff but i dont care! xD) when you get damage (get bitten or are starving) you have the red thing on your screen (it is called screen by the way) and the less health you have the more red blood you have on your screen. When you bleed and you sit down (H) you cant die. When you run you get more damage from bleed. And it is important you know the calls from the dinos, its really helpful. 1 is more like: Im here, eat me! 2 is friendly 3 is threatening 4 is help And it is important you know the map. Where water is, where the good herbivore spots are and where the hot spots are (with hot spot is meant where the most people normally are) and that changes on every server. And the dinos take al different times to grow. Dryo: 30 min 15 juvi 15 adult but cant do anything than running and hiding in its burrows Galli: something about 1 and half hour im not so sure correct me if im wrong Pachy: i think 2 hours Para: about 2 or 3 the hours again im not sure xD (i dont play herbivore often) Dibble: about 3 or 4 hours Trike: 5 hours, here you have a sub stage. So you start as juvi and when you first grow you are not an fresh adult you are an sub + pretty much useless after that you are an adult (its an apex) And sorry that i cant say exactly how long they take to grow but you have an idea now Utha: 1 hour and 50 minutes as a juvi you get attacked from velos (Ai) Dilo: 2 hours is the perfect bleeder (and mah fav dino c:) Cerato: about 3 hours Carno: a little bit stronger than the cerato and takes a little bit longer (not sure how long exactly) Allo: about 4 hours and it has an momentum so be carefull! Sucho: about 4 and a half hours some people call it an semi apex Giga: 6 hours and 10 minutes and dont think its stronger than the rex just because it takes longer to grow (here you have a sub stage too) Rex: 6 hours as a full adult its more like you run into everything and facetank it (here you have a sub stage too and it is the only dino that gives you a bonebreak) And dont believe me fully some things may be wrong And my favourite servers are the official here you have alt turn, almost no rules (you have pack limits and of curse no bug abusing!) But some people can be very... rude i guess? But there are also people who help you and give you a warm welcome c: if you play on the official eu one maybe we will see us But have fun with your new survival game and dont get ambushed

Playing herbivore is hardmode. When you're a juvie everything is out to kill you. Playing as Oro, Ava, Taco is death mode.

another thing - there is a percentage kind of thing - health is called by screens (how much blood is on your screen) the first time you got hurt was first screen - the one after 2nd screen etc. but there are only four screens so be careful

1 call is broadcast.....never use it as a herbi juvi, 2 call is friendly, 3 call is aggressive, 4 call is danger, mostly to back down from same species combat or to alert others in a pack/ herd

The only dinos that love the night right now are the Dilophosaurus! LOL

Pachy in my opinion is the dino who needs the most work. No one ever plays them on servers anymore, because even fully grown, pachy = snack. It was supposed to be a utah killer, but they removed the chance for pachy to break legs. So utahs just bite a few times, and you bleed out because they're faster than you. Not only that but you don't jump high enough to get to safe spots, so the ambush speeds of the larger carnivores are also worrying. I have also starved to death several times full grown, because their sniff is so weak, that they aren't even good at being a herbivore If you want to have a fun time as a small herbivore, try to find a big herd. Carnivores will generally go for the small, slow ones. Pachy and galli are fast, and don't give the big ones enough food for it to be worth the hunt. The slow herbies can protect you from things like utahraptor. You can repay them by being their little scout. The server I can most recommend to you is the Hunting Grounds server. Believe me, by far the most friendly community out there, not only that but it's sticky utah's server. Fair rules, not as much drama.

Her i will tell you about the isle gameplay. first of all you will not find food or water close to the sea canal with the big rock in it. Sniff every now and then to find food and water more quickly. careful with the sounds especially with the 1 call wich is brodcast and it is VERY loud and most tings can hear you. 1 call is broadcast. 2 call is friendly. 3 is threaten . 4 is danger. A lil tip is to finde a pack it is much safer to be in one cus there is more eye's to spot danger and if something attack there is a lower chanse that you will be the chosen one to be eaten. Wen your an adult female someting you can press “B” and make a nest if it don't work the first time then bite the groundt by pressing left click or mayby there is a ting in the way for your nest. try to hide your nest as good as you can cus you will nede to lay on it to inccutebate the eggs. Wen a egg is done ask somone in the chat if they want your egg. wen some one says "yes" to the egg go to your nest and press B and then type the persons name or finde it on the list (this can be hard if there is many folk on the server) wen you finde then press on there name and then there invitede. remember to give some food to the nest that the baby can eat do this by going in the nest by pressing “B” click the give food button just be carfull cus it will take food from your hunger bar .you can’t sniff in rain. you can tell wen its starting to be day wen you can see tings out side your night vision or go in to character and u can see the time in the game =D sorry for bad english im danish

Mildly painful, as someone who's played for awhile, haha. Just going to answer some questions for ya. Sniffing, for herbivores, you have to stop moving and hold Q until the animation has ended and you see the compass on the top of the screen. For carnivores, you can sniff and walk at the same time. For looking behind yourself, just use the controls backwards (controls as in WASD) while having your camera turned around. It's a bit hard to explain, but you could probably get the hang of it. You can check the settings/change the settings in "Settings" (can be found in the main menu and in-game) Possibly try looking up tutorials on Google or on RU-vid? I personally never have myself as I'm someone who prefers to learn on my own with minimal help, but there should be plenty of things to help ya. There is, and will not be, a map within the game, but the player base has their own maps. You can probably find some through the Discord servers, but the best for sure is Vulonona. To use it, just read the screen that pops up when you first use the site. If there's any other questions, do ask. I didn't watch the whole video as I didn't have time, but I'm always glad to help new players lol. And, always feel free to ask other players for help. (When you in-game, click the ] button until it's on "Global" to talk to all players.)

Because it appears you are struggeling with the controls here's a quick summary: WASD = Moving around Q - Smelling (To find water, edible bushes, blood, eggs in a nest,...) E - Interacting with for example a nest H - resting (regenarates stamina quickly, you loose less food and water, bone break heals faster and you bleed less) control - crouching (as most carnivores you can get a "charging bonus" when crouching and then running afterwards) 1 - broadcast call (You do this when you want to show that you are around. Not aggressive nor friendly. Kind of a neutral call) 2 - friendly call (if you want to show that you have no intention to harm someone else) 3 - aggressive call (if you want to tell someone to **** off because you want to eat or something like this) 4 - help call (if you want to tell other that something really dangerous is around you probably can't defeat alone. usually to warn other group members) Every action in the game makes sound. Other players can hear you eat, drink, walk, run, smell etc. So if you want to be quiet because you Thing something is nearby better walk slowly and don't eat or drink anything. As a pachy you are also Pretty weak. You aren't the fastest nor do you deal a lot of damage. You are a Pretty easy target for carnivores. Some really good herbievores are for example the Galli, the trike, the para and the maia. If you want to know some good carnivores then the carno is really so is the utah because both are incredibly fast. The larger carnivores are getting harder and harder to play the bigger they are because then they need more time to grow into adults and as juvis they aren't really strong. Just some quick tips for you. if you need more help or anything or you are looking for some group members I'd be glad to help ;)

Sorry, this might be a little rude because I'm an experienced The Isle player and I almost ate my nails watching to this. The controls are pretty simple. And 1 is broadcast, 2 is friendly, 3 is threaten and 4 is danger/help. There's also an F call wich you can use in non chat communication and if you chat something it will also do the F call when pressing enter.

Press [Z] on your keyboard to toggle what is called Trot, you can toggle Trot or Walk by pressing [Z], Trot uses no stamina and allows you to move faster than the Walk... (Please for the sake of your sanity use Trot...)

There is no way to not go in the direction in which you are watching when pressing "w", to look around you when you are running or moving, just simply use "a", "d" and "s" button. It might take some time to learn but that's the only way.

to look behind you you use w to keep going forward and tunr the mouse e.g to look left while running straight hold d and tunr the mouse to your left

Calls: 1=Call 2=Friendly 3=Agresive 4=Danger/help

Tips lay down to regain Stam fast and always sniff as a herbivore if you don’t you’ll die also when you spawn get away from the big ocean in the middle all bushes and water are very far away

I have a tip, try not to run everywhere. You are going to need stamina when you are being chased by a T-rex. Im probably late to this train but just in case :,)

W walks where the camera is facing A and D walk left or right parallel to where the camera is facing S walks towards the camera combining W and A/D or S and A/D will walk diagonally left or right forward or back using a combination of A, D, and S as you turn your camera can allow you to walk where you wish to go and look around you at the same time

Did you not look at the control menu in settings for the game? Also I recommend u go on a sandbox server and try out dinos and learn their attacks and calls as you can spawn in as adults in sandbox, also some popular servers are Hunting grounds and the Nycta servers

Out of interest what do you use to record and edit your videos? I'm wanting to record on pc but can't find a screen recorder that works

dutch person here. ive been playing the isle a bit lately again. (gigano dino) if you would like to get some pointers and or get a pack going to play togheter i would be down for it. overall you got nice pointers in the comments already. i have not seen this but. for now keep going female in this game because you do not need a male to fertelize your eggs. this is subject to change. carnivores are more diff in my oppinion Herbivores are easier to get food so decently easy. Don’t sit out in the open as a juvi anything, hide under trees, turn your camera while eating or drinking, stay near water as a juvi as well, stay where you can’t be found easy, and if you are bit... it’s the end of the road for your dino

Something you might want to do Evolution is find a semi realism server like Isla Eire which are servers that tend to be more relaxed and chill and people are less likely to be a holes to other players. One thing that can also be important is learning what dinosaur calls mean and which species they belong to(big help to determine if there's danger in the way your going). You can test each dinosaur sounds on sandbox server, plus you dont have to lose your progress like in survival
