I know you guys are going to blow up !! Y’all are just as entertaining as Puddin , Vice Grip Garage , DD Speed Shop , Sleeper Dude and many others ! I’m here for the ride ! Let’s Go 👍
What!?!?! Man that's a pretty bold prediction and an over the top compliment! Never thought we would be mentioned in the same sentence as all those channels. But hey we'll take that compliment. It's like jet fuel to the motivation and boy do we lack motivation!! lol. We'll were thrilled to have ya and as always, we appreciate the support! Thanks!
Man that one fits me to a tee! It don't take into account the 6 months of pure procrastination beforehand though! lol I may just have to use that one if ya don't mind! Thanks for stopping by!
I have to say I just love you guys. I don't know what's better the comedy or working on stuff. Well I remember a neighbor of mine was showing me a little trick about those spindles and stuff the reason why they wear out is because g you can't put grease in them they don't have any grease fittings on them but if you drill them out tap them and put some grease fittings on they'll last twice as long. I've even seen some with grease fittings that never actually would fill up the cavity with grease because it never went into that they are sealed bearings all you have to do is take the cap off. Anyway guys I'll be sitting here watching, and just remember God is good all the time.
Yes, he is and we know he's behind all the good stuff that's been happening to this channel! I've heard of the grease fitting hack and it's like you said.. They are sealed bearings in there which makes no sense at all. These have fittings on top of the spindle and we pumped them full but pretty sure that it was just a waste of time.. but hey... Wastin time is what we do best!! lol. Thanks for the info and thanks for stopping by!
To be honest, all the videos look bad in my head when we are filming them. They do tend to look better after the edit though. Those weren't toys... oh no.. those were 4 wheeled headaches and heart breaks back there behind the garage! Hahahaha Thanks for watching buddy!
Shoot.... This old tractor's lucky there was a part1! Were gonna slam a belt on this old junk and abuse it properly. I don't think the world is prepared to see the abuse its about to go thru.. Young and impressionable folks wouldn't be able to watch it so no... probably not! lol. Thanks for watching!
Sorry buddy!!! hahaha Hey I returned the empty can ok!?! lol. What I really need to give it is a ride to the bone yard!!! I know, I know.... drain the gas back out first! hahaha Thanks for tuning in!
My old Craftsman mower would always put the oil everywhere like yours did until I went and bought a peace of pipe and a little shut off fitting for the end and well that helped out some my only problem then was trying to put the oil pan to catch the old oil when it was time to change it
Yea I thought I was on top of it... like I usually do.. and it turned out bad... like it usually does... lol But hey; like I always say... I tried!! And that's good enough these days! lol. Yea that's a good idea. Factory should a done that for us I figure. Be a shame to ruin a new belt... You see how much those things are now a days!?!? Man... Well Thanks again for stopping by! Appreciate it!
@HustlehousePA1978 yeah buying any lawnmower parts anymore is way to pricey and said part is they are the same junk as when they was cheaper but heck yeah I always watch your videos just to see what you are getting into again and well ok yeah I still like looking at that cool old GtX
Aint it!? We were at Burger King the other day.. Had a coupon for two Whopper Jrs. Got My Whopper jr and the slice of cheese was so thin you could see thru it! Like you would have to fold it 4 times to set your points with it. I have no idea how they got the cheese on the burger without it fallin apart! What's the world coming to when they shave your cheese in half just to shaft a guy outta a couple cents...? just don't get it. Hey that old GTX may make the channel in the near future, gotta rebuild the front suspension. Got a small spot on the frame about as thin as that piece of cheese I told ya about.. Thanks for always watching. Much appreciated! Stop back!
Yea we like this one... just seems like it's starting to go downhill pretty quick. Seems to smoke worse every time we use it! Looks like it's gonna be the same story here, It will be good enough till it aint! I think it knows its days are numbered and mowin itself a path straight to the Pearly Gates. lol. Thanks for watchin and commenting!
Thats a pretty good idea actually, same deal with this one. Its in real good shape especially since the spindles are new. Might not be a bad way to go. Worst part of the whole tractor is the turning radius. Don't turn sharp at all. Makes it tough cutting around all this junk!
Thank you! Hey if it weren't for kind folks like you watching, we'd just be 2 weirdos following each other around the garage with a camera every day! lol. Appreciate ya!
Great video, guys. It was fun. I really liked it. It's nice to just goof off once in a while. You guys are good people and I enjoy everything you do. Thanks for the great content. You've become a common topic around my place. Keep it up. 👍
Hey Ken! Just finally replied to your last comment, sorry about the wait. Thanks for the compliment. We enjoy hearing from you and the family. Let them know we appreciate them as well and I'm sure we're all gonna bump into each other eventually. Like we said we have some ideas for your video which may be a little much for our editing abilities but wanna do a nice video for you and your family as kinda like a keepsake to have with the truck and as a big thank you for being our biggest fans. We really do appreciate the support and kind words from you and your family. It's what keeps us going. For real.
Good mornin' from North Carolina! Hey Guys, I like the new mini-series "Hustle House Life" or was it "Life at the Hustle House"? I can't remember, but it was great! Now we can watch you fix your stuff so we don't have to fix ours! Lolin' I sure as heck ain't goin' out there and mowing my mess, it's been raining for days and my "14 fracture arthritis" is killin' me! Maybe next year you could change the oil while the mower deck is still off, or change it up and make some kind of sheet metal contraption so the oil flows out sideways away from yer spinny bits?! Love this channel. I do wish we lived closer to each other, so we could visit and I could watch Chevelle sneak past you and walk through the oil, or maybe even roll in it?!! That'd be GREAT! 😆Liked & Subscribed!
North Carolina!? Well your way down there and we're clear up here! If ya wasn't so far down there we'd have ya over and put ya to work but it would probably be havin you cut the grass! Haha.. No shame in our game! This old heap got the last oil change its ever gonna get outta this old boy, I'll tell ya that right now! Can't wait to see that thing on top of the scrap pile out back. I think the series name should be " General Hustlepital" or "The Guiding Carburetor Fire" or "The Days of our Hustle" something like that. haha...Old Chevelle; don't have to worry about her gettin in the oil but if there's a dead skunk or a big old turd on the ground, shell be a rollin and kickin her feet in the air gettin that all over her... Thats how she rolls. She loves the funk! Thanks for The Subscription! Appreciate ya stoppin buy and commenting. Stop back!
@@HustlehousePA1978 Well as long as I can use the riding mower. Even the self propelled walk-behind mowers tear me up! I love dogs, but they do love the gross; one day my brother's dog Rocky drug home a dead dog to play with and roll around on. Dogs just do the weirdest, grossest things sometimes.
You aint a kiddin'! Heck I coulda bought another mower for a hundred bucks! lol. On a positive note, I'll have those spindles bent and broke just like the rest of the mower in no time! lol. Thanks for watching!
Hahaha well we struggle with every project equally. Everything we own tends to give us a rough time. You'd think we'd quit dragging this junk home. lol. Thanks for stopping back!
Thanks! We're still learning. Appreciate the compliment and really appreciate the subscription! Got more stuff in the works so make sure to hit that bell! Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing your fun. It’s very entertaining watching you do that long overdue maintenance. Following you from Sydney Australia. You got some nice cars there.
Sydney!? Mann that's waaaay down there! Awesome to hear from you. Yea we're kinda behind on all the maintenance around here but hope to remedy that at some point.. We learn the hard way around here! Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciate it!
I had 2 of those, pretty good mowers. One sat in a shop for about 5 or 6 years was in very good shape, the other I bought for parts mainly the engine a 25 horsepower Kohler put that on a 40 inch cut murray. Replaced a 12.5 Briggs. Lots of power. I retired down sized home went from 2 acres to cut to half an acre. Sold the good one, and just use my murray. A good little mower.
Yea they seem to be great mowers. Unfortunately for us it's like everything else we buy.. It's wore out! lol. Hey even worn out though, this baby fires up every time! We love this heep! lol. Thanks for watching!
@@HustlehousePA1978 That's usually what I wind up with, stuff that's wore out. One way I have found to save money. On the idler pulleys, instead of replacing, I drill out the spot welds, take apart and replace the bearing most are 6203 can but 10 for less than $20. Then use nuts and bolts to put the 2 pieces back together. The good part is, if you need to replace the bearing again, it's much faster and cheaper.
Yea that’s the way to go, it’s crazy what stuff costs. When you work on as much stuff as we do we have to cut every corner we can. Luckily our pulleys were still fine but that kit she found had new ones with it. We kept the old ones as back ups.. looks like they will fit most of the junkers we have around here.. if not we”ll make them work! Haha hey man times are tough!
It is a nice place, very blessed to have it for sure. We're gonna keep the old ones around to fix and use as spares. Thats if we dont need to take a load of scrap in to keep the lights on! lol. Thanks for watching!
best little tractor ever owned parts are readily available & fix . better & much cheaper then my JD witch ended up in the trash. & been using my craftsman has for about 15 years
yea we're impressed with this one. Other than wear items it's been awesome. This will be the first time we replaced the drive belt. Starts every time too!
Well.... Biggest reason is We like stickin to doing the absolute minimum amount work if possible in our day to day.. Beyond that, I can't help feeling like this old heap don't have but a year or two left on the engine judging from the way its smoking; and C... Spray paint is just way too pricey these days so if were gonna be bringing home any aerosol propelled liquids from the Rural King, it's gonna be something awesome like brake clean or ether.
I have the same machine, bought new 20yrs ago. That break on the drive belt is nothing. Just fyi, the Rubber on the V of the belt does nothing. It's just filler to keep it in the pulley. The actual "Belt" is just the Thin outer layer. Just flip that back into the pulley and Mow. You have about the most reliable yet powerful little yard mower in existence. Congratulations 👍 If you think the steering is stiff, put some weight on the back so it takes weight off the front wheels. Then you can turn it with a spinner knob. Keep the foam air filter (1st stage) clean and change the oil regularly. The little black 'can' coming out of the head, with a tube into the carburetor can plug with oil. It's just filled with steel wool... pull it off and purge with carb cleaner. Another tip, let machine warm up and Then engage the PTO at HALF throttle to extend life. Lower engine rpms and let cool after mowing, before you shut it down ~
No doubt! yea it's a good one. Has a ton of hours on it but still a mowing! We have since replaced the drive belt, It was chewed up pretty bad once we got it outta there. Pretty easy to change compared to other drive belts I've done in the past. We mainly run cub cadets and bigger internationals which are all shaft driven so it was the first drive belt in a while. The steering isn't really stiff as it has a bad turning radius. Other than that it's been pretty awesome. Thanks for the tips, they all make perfect sense if ya think about it. Were guilty of having too many irons in the fire so cutting the grass is done as fast as possible and the mowers are rode hard and put away wet so to speek. Even with that level of neglect the mower just keeps goin! Thanks for watching and commenting. Appreciate it!
@HustlehousePA1978 Oh trust me, the bushes and brush i've mowed would that thing would make your eyes bulge, ha. Here's another tip (for any of your belt-drive decks... also preserve the PTO: after you warm and pull the pto @ ½throttle, just Leave it on no matter what. In order to get off while you are cutting grass, just go jump out the seat switch (if you want... not safe if kids around). Pull the plug under the seat and 2inch copper wire to close the loop, and she won't shut off. Now each time you mow the pto only has to slam into action Once. Pto's aren't cheap. (But maybe yours is ready to go anyway.. who knows). That deck (48") clogs easily near the mouth. I carry a Wonderbar (puller) to just reach in and scrap it out when i see clumps or buildup. Obviously i Do shut the blades for that. Lastly, it will need the front end rebuilt at some point... tie rods, etc and the steering "sector" gear can get loose. It's all available and pretty cheap. Plus they sell flat "thrust" washers, which go in between the end of the axle and the wheel spindle, so it's turning on a bearing and not just metal-to-metal. Also a wicked cheap good upgrade.. 👍 Now i'll leave you be, g-luck. Take care of that motor... those are true Commercial engines, made for Kohler in Japan. $2800- replacement now 😉 ~
2800.00?! Dang on! We would probably fashion a slant 6 outta an old plymouth to that old craftsman cause 2800.00 just aint in the budget!! Buy a couple goats or something! lol. jk. Appreciate it Buddy, that's all sound advice and anything to keep that PTO alive longer is a big help. That baby aint cheap either I reckon!
On your oil drain, next oil change once you remove the plug get a 4" lenght of pipe that screws in where the plug was. Add an elbow on this pipe. Have the elbow point down. Put plug in the elbow. Then when you drain the oil it flows out this pipe over away from everything underneath the tractor.
Yea we really shoulda done that this time. I've seen them too with a foot long piece of hose threaded in that can be swung out and used to direct the flow of crude away from the valuables. We gotta do something. The dog is gonna have a coronary if we keep spilling that stuff all over the garage floor! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching... stop back!!
Thats a pretty good deal right there. Ours has 3 spindles and blades but Amazon probably woulda had a cheaper set for ours. Hope these ones last a while! Thanks for watching!
Brother you got good junk....❤ clean the belt with brake cleaner. Right after I make the comment.. AIN'T IT JUST AIN'T IT 😜 lols....on the bright side you gotta one like and Subscribe.
Well, aint much we like more than some likes and subscribes! Dont know if I ever saw any bad junk... be like Sandford and Son around here if ppl wouldn't make fun of me! Thanks for watchin and subscribing... Appreciate it!
Cool old trucks. I just bought a gt5000 had its issues... Some kids took the engien appart dealing with thay and hoping the rear end is good bought it non running
Lotsa them GT5000s out there huh?! Musta made a million of those things. Rugged machines when theyre runnin. Better get it goin, that grass is still growin! Thanks for watrching!
Heck no! lol. Everything we have is barely useable. Wouldn't want all this other junk to be envious! Were fine with the ruts in the yard; not to mention the money we saved (on wheels) will buy the half quart of oil it uses every cut or two! Thanks for watching!
Where did ya order the kit? I’m looking to replace the same exact things on my mower got the same mower 48 inch deck, if your remover the site I would appreciate it!
I kinda thought it came from Amazon but forget... one of the new pulleys that came in the kit came apart so can't recommend it wherever it came from.. Left me down!!! lol Thanks for watchin
Thanks! I personally struggle with the whole effort thing myself but I'm getting better! The wife has me way out awesomed though! We have more videos a cooking as we speak! Thanks for stopping by and hope to hear from ya again!
