That's really sad. Reminds me of when I found out a kid from my high school died in a car accident. I learned it from his aunt 2 years later when we were working together. She found out that we played the same sport and asked if I knew him. I said "Yes, haven't heard about him in awhile. How is he?" Biggest shock I ever received. Maybe a year older than me but all it took was an icy patch on the high way. He was turning his life around too. I'm with Will. I don't want to die.

I had a somewhat similar experience, almost a year ago I heard in the news the sister of some one I went to school with from elementary (small town so while we weren't really friends we knew each other) to high school with and someone else I had gone to elementary with (not sure if he still went to the same high school) died in a shooting (I think it was labeled as a murder suicide). I hadn't talked to either of them in years, especially the sister, and I barely remember them but it was a very weird feeling, not something you ever expect to hear about even to people you barely knew.

It's weird how it effects you even if you're not ''that'' close, right? When I was in high school a guy one year over me got hit by a car an old lady was driving. I felt so bad even though I barely had any connection with him It was really crazy at school because many actually saw the scene because the school bus was passing by after he got hit.... And just recently an acquaintance of mine died abroad while being on volunteer service. The last time I saw her was when she told me she was gonna volunteer... I was on volunteer service for a year myself and I remember my biggest fear wasn't dying but imagining my family having to bring back my body... it was the most terrifying and heart wrenching thought to me...

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve struggled with this for the past few years after seeing a few of my classmates’ lives taken away so suddenly. This song perfectly encapsulates the way I felt afterwards. There is comfort in solidarity, thank you.

In high school, I started having suicidal thoughts and I'd sometimes plan how I would do it, but then a part of me was like "what if I actually die" and I'd get panic attacks thinking about it. Or when I hear people are dying, it makes me think how I'm never safe and I'm next. It also makes me think about my loved ones especially since I can't see some of my family because we're in different countries. I got really paranoid, and I'd also get panic attacks often, at random times like sitting in a car on my way home. This song really expresses a lot of what I feel that I couldn't put into words.

This hits so hard. I’ve had to say goodbye to too many people too soon, so this really reminded me of my loved ones. And especially now with everyone scared because of this disease, it’s terrifying. It really do be like that. Thing is during quarantine you find yourself having so much time that you start feeling a little too lonely and that's exactly when thoughts like death come unbidden. I would say to fill up your excess time now with a new (practical) hobby, etc since doing literally anything can take your mind off of negative thoughts.

@@w00r_m52 well I repress it and eventually it hits me even harder and sometimes I just hurt myself because it makes me feel something other than the world's wrath and hate, which slowly molds me into a time bomb making me feel worse, but I surround myself with people who actually give a damn if I'm hurting, and life is worth living when I'm with them they make me smile they make me happy and they make me want to live to be with them. But ill be damned if I can make their day a little bright 1. so strive to be the person YOU want to be 2. find people Who CARE about YOU and your well being 3. Stay strong and don't be afraid to reach out to people about your fears

I had a terrible experience of hypochondria a few weeks ago and I'm still trying to recover from it. worst shit that has ever happened to me, feeling this irrational terror deep within and losing my mind every time someone even remotely mentions death or illnesses or doctors, and my therapist wasn't much of a help either, only making it worse. so I don't worry about the quarantine that much anymore. suffering from the virus seems to be a better option than going through that terrible condition ever again. just... try to enjoy life, okay? might be hard to do these days, but things aren't _that_ bad. stay safe and stay strong. you're gonna be okay.

Pen Name I can relate, a girl I went to karate with unfortunately died not too long before quarantine. They never told us the cause of death, but I heard that it could have been suicide. I didn’t show it but it really bothered me because even though we weren’t close, we were the same age, just 15, and it affected me more than I expected it to.

I can't begin to count the times I've been reckless with my own wellbeing and took someone else's presence in my life for granted. Always been seen as someone who's strong and brushes things off but hoo boy, if anyone knew the full spectrum of my dark thoughts... cheers, Will. It's kind of scary just how much I can relate to will. From never been in love to this, he's really been the first artist I can really relate to. I understand that with the song lies, this might not mean anything, but even with that song, I just get what he says. At 13 i had my first full realization that I was going to die, and that my conciousness wouldn't be enternal. It's really scary but also really helpful. I feel like just letting it out here without offending anyone, but I don't believe in god, I believe in when I die, I die. I stop existing and that's about it. I know many people believe in god because the thought of just not being here anymore is just too scary and they want to convince themselves that they aren't alone, but I'm thinking realistically. There are too many questions about god which just doesn't make sense. Nowadays people want evidence for everything to believe in, but why do people believe in god without any evidence, they just do? Anyway, as long as it makes people happy to believe in god that's okay, all I'm saying is I don't and that won't change, and I will be fine anyway in the end.

Arina hey ^^ there is evidence for God, but the same people who condemn Christians for being close-minded are also close-minded in a different way. For me, I look at scientific evidence, but the real selling point is experiences in my own life that could not be explained by anything other than God and his love. For others it may be different. Don’t want to argue or debate, just wanted to put more info out there!

The gun shots I heard in my sleep brings me chills to this day when I realize those were probably the sounds he last heard

goodness. a girl i was in choir with and really looked up to died a little over a year ago. we weren’t close. we rarely talked. she had invited me to hang out a few times but i was too anxious or wasn’t allowed to. she was 18 when she passed. it was my first time having someone i used to see every day and who was my age die. i was so shocked. i’ve thought about it almost every day since i heard the news. this song really just captures my thoughts and feelings about the situation perfectly. not to mention my grandfather passing a month ago and the current pandemic. will never fails to surprise me. good job, keep it up!

Love from malaysia 🇲🇾 💕 Experienced almost the same case. One of my degree friend died in motorcycle excident. The evening before the accident happen, we wave bye to each other and never thought that will be the last time i see him. What hurt me most was, i was there in the emergency department to accompany my other friend who currently fever to get treatment when they received the body. This just reminded me of a girl from my neighborhood. She was hit by a drunk driver around 2 years ago right in front of my house. She was only 13. We saw each other pretty much everyday but we weren’t close at all, but it hit me really hard when she passed. I was with her at the hospital when she passed and it was just really hard. My thought wasn’t “it could’ve been me” it was more of ‘it could’ve been one of my siblings’ cause they were near when the incident happened. But I love the song. I fell in love with this guy's music when I listened to "I can only write my name". The lyrics spoke to me and I was touched by the honesty. There's nothing I'm more afraid of than death. I spent hours awake at night with my heart racing, thinking about dying. There's so much I wanna do, I've been told it's too much for a lifetime. I don't want to die, I don't want to leave my family behind. People tell me it's silly but what is scarier than the unknown, the inevitable? I have always had this morbid thought how eventually we all will die and unless you are a big name in history you will eventually be forgotten and no one will know you even existed. Always makes me feel sad.
