What is the hardest part of getting rid of things before a move?

Thanks again for these thoughts. I’ve invested so much money in antiques and art. And I love all of it. But I also am feeling weighted down by this stuff and held back by them. It’s a real struggle.

I absolutely felt lighter after getting rid of my things. And it has opened up space for me to experience what I am now in France. I see it now as a tradeoff. But I know the struggle is real too. Best wishes as you work through this.

You really helped me in the absolutely necessary task of getting rid of things--including sentimental items--before moving to France. It was SO difficult!! But, I love, love, love living in a minimalist way. I always have to consider, even at the supermarket, whether this item will be used, it will fit (in the refrigerator or storage areas). It feels so much lighter. (PS: my mom also went to Immaculata.)

You know Patricia i used to have a hard time letting go of things but as I've gotten older and, not to be morbid, think about leaving this realm, i look at things as not permanent. We dont take any of.it with us and if its not serving a current purpose its not needed.

This is true. I feel a similar way. It's so much easier to get rid of things now realizing that everything changes and nothing is permanent. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

New subbie here! I hated moving from the states... because I had soooooo many clothes! Too many! Getting rid of clothes is exhausting!

Wow thank you for this amazing video! It really resonated with me. First my mom got her masters degree in music therapy from Immaculata University. Second she has a baby grand that I know I will have to decide what to do with it when the time comes. It was my grandmother's and I'm not sure if I can part with it due to sentimentality. You give me a lot to think about.

@@Didi-ir1gr I booked an Airbnb-type apartment long-term. That gave me an address. Since I was renting longer term they gave me a price break.
