I like the over-the-door storage! Nothing is level or spacious where I live either. I like to say I live in my sister’s root cellar🤣-but I love it. I sold my home and moved here with her and my space is like a tiny house. Perfect for me and I have an over-the-door rack for my shoes-and I think that yarn storage would be excellent too. Another helpful video.❤ ps-I think you should let the kitty keep his bathtub💖😇
Oh shoot, I thought I replied to you Vicki! I must not have actually posted it! I hope you’re doing well and having a great weekend! 😃 Yeah, I think everyone agrees with you and it’s his!!! 😂
You maybe already noticed but: To help the door close more easily, try scooting the organiser as close to the opening of the door as possible. Looked like the part nearest the hinges had a tighter fit. Love that product, love that it’s from a small business, definitely going to get one, thank you SO MUCH!

So you get it then! These old houses can be challenging Can’t they? Little Dude loves that spot to hang out, I might have problems if I try filling it with yarn 😂
@@ShannonTalksYarn you should have heard the handyman cursing when he was trying to hang the new front door!! One side 2”. The other 1 1/2”-the door to my craft room doesn’t close completely…old country house-uneven land. But, so beautiful💖
Oh boy-I can see the label now: “House of Shannon”, unique hand dyed and hand spun yarns. Orders from pre-approved clients only.” And we can say “I remember the video when….” Good for you Shannon, keep exploring!
I'm so excited for you regarding your spinning and dyeing journey. I've been watching ChemKnits as well and am really pleased with some of the results my puddling about with fizzy bath tablets has rendered. I'd recommend it a great place to start as you gain understanding of heat, acid and colour theory. Here in Australia dyes are very expensive, as is wool yarn, so I've been using thrifted bits and pieces as a cheaper alternative as I learn and enjoy some happy accidents. 😊
Shannon, I can feel your enthusiasm with your yarn dyeing and yarn spinning. Maybe you needed the small change in your craft. Good for you! Little Dude is going to have to have the bottom section of your over-the-door organizer-it has been claimed! Hugs
Little Dude said this is Mine!! And you aren’t going to do anything about it😂 Oo loved seeing all the roving you’ve purchased. The merino/nylon blends would make a great sock yarn. New shop to me! Never heard of them. I use Chemknits a lot. Love Rachel (think that’s her name) it’s been a while. lol What I have found best for me is to play around with different techniques. The good thing about dyeing is if need be, sometimes you can add more dye. My favorite technique I have done so far is the “tie-dye” kettle/steam . Which is what I did with the last braid I dyed with my daughter. Those little hanks are awesome! Loved seeing you organize your new acquisitions!!💛
Thank you Cydney! Yeah, he is so silly! I couldn’t believe how long he stayed in there either, you could totally see the organizer bouncing around because of him! I’m loving the fiber and I’m super excited to watch your upcoming video on Etsy fiber sources!
I have an over the door organizer for my scarves and shawls and lint care tools. It's very helpful. My yarn is in a former bookshelf (I got another shelf) and bin. Slowly but surely I will work through my yarn enough to have it all in the shelf. 😅
Hi Shannon, I gotta reorganize my stash as well. I started but then the weather got too beautiful here in NC sooooo soon lol. Love your kitty, so funny, “he’s taking a bath down there” I just cracked up.
Three spinning podcasters I recommend: Soulful Spinning, Jillian Eve, and JK Fiber Arts. I was also going to recommend ChemKnits, but you already know about her! Great organizers! Lucky you…! ❤
Hi I Emily I a knitter Crochet and Drop spindaler I'm so happy you tride drop spindaling it's my favorite. Have you looked on Caftsy website they had some dining classes that I did. A year or so ago. Happy spinning!!!
Great organizing options! Did the organizers happen to tell you the type of fabric they are made of? Cotton canvas, nylon, polyester, etc.? I was looking at the product pages and couldn't find that specific detail. I've actually been pondering not just storage but also pest protection for my yarn, so that detail could make a difference. Excellent video as usual, Shannon, and love the kitty cameo!
Hey there! Just wanted to jump in and let you know the products are both made from non-woven fabric, which can contain polypropylene, rayon, nylon and others. Hope that helps, but let us know if you have any other questions. 😀 Thanks for checking out these new products!
My favourite part was when you were talking quite seriously and behind you the storsge container was bouncing up and down because of the cat in the bottom 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't know how you feel about the large jars of dye. I like them when i had my shop but now i only dye small quantities for myself. Cushing's Acid dyes aren't as well known but they sell in smaller amounts that are less expensive. I started using them because they were local to me. I admit that other brands have neon colors but they are a good value if you don't need a whole jar of dye.
