@@BruceMyersLBZ well that too but if we’re comparing stock vs stock, or mostly stock the OBS has to be driven around, if you’re towing heavy and let’s say you’re going up a grade you’re gonna be struggling, and or get stuck on the hill
@@KDlGG true that! Never ran this stock, so kinda over looked how weak they really were all stock. My truck is actually a 94 idi truck that i transplanted a 96 powerstroke into. Took a couple donor trucks to get all wiring etc. Went from naturally aspirated 7.3 IDI to warmed up powerstroke i was in heaven. Its still no common rail, but it doesnt give up much "practical" ground now either. Meaning, how fast do you really want to run loaded etc. Great old truck and every time im working it, or just getting fuel etc it draws compliments. Turned out a pretty clean build. What i gather, yeah stock 7.3 is a complete turd.
@@BruceMyersLBZ yeah stock those trucks are a disappointment in todays market. However yeah if you live in a relatively flat area and or don’t tow heavy you’ll be fine. I’m just speaking for an all around most situations guys across the country would come across. That being said the majority of 7.3s are stock, a tune at best, and not a great tune at that. Sure these trucks with injectors and a turbo can do wonders they’re just not the end all diesel people make them out to be. They’re still a picky truck at times
Ok ok ok…… it’s an oldie but a goodie lol!! For it being a older rig it did really good the obs 7.3 isn’t the fastest around but it’s a dinosaur an you just can’t beat it at all,great video as always man
