Use sandbags for your backstop. We still use them in the military because they work. I think it's 24 inches of sand bags that is rated to protect a soldier from a direct strike from light artillery. Cheap and will soak up a round easily.

More energy is transferred from the projectile to the non-newtonian fluid than to the water. But both absorbed a lot of energy, or the "backstop" would have been scattered to the four winds.

The NNF showed rings of material separated by a distance. This distance between the rings should be convertible into a harmonic frequency. It would be interesting to explore what this frequency is, and how we could possibly control or modify it Good work guys.

I am subscribed to several European channels & I'm noticing that a significant number of them buld cannons, launchers, blow things up, crush things etc. Is it just me or are a majority of European RU-vidrs these types of excellently maniacal backyard physicists & inventors? From a true American viewpoint this is the kind of stuff we really enjoy. You two are better than just "Pretty good". A suggestion for an English alternative to "pretty good" is "Decent". Kiitos! How about two cannons firing at each other? Get the bullets/slugs/balls to hit each other in mid-air! Head-on, 45 degrees, parallel. The parallel shot would have a length of chain or cable connecting the two balls, bolo-style. Might take a bit of magic, synchronizing two black-powder cannons.

You should try reinforcing the sides of the non-neutonian. Make drum with a plastic skin on both sides that can be refilled. Might help up the stopping power of the fluid.

Why is it that it seems most of the energy it transferred to the fluid in a way that the Newtonian fluid is blown out in the horizontal plane lateral to the projectile and not so much in the vertical plane? Just wondering... interesting video, thanks!

That’s about what I expected from the oobeehleeeck, the backyard scientist did this with a golf ball. I don’t think he did a test with water though, so that was interesting. I hope your cameraman is alright ;p The main complaint I have with destruction Tuber is how cramped the numbers are on screen on my phone; my phone isn’t even that small..
