I finally spilled the beans that we're having a baby, but that means that so much has to change. I want to craft a space that's more practical and inviting so that all who want to be part of our family, can. Congrats! I have 5 boys! Get the nice rug! Pets and wine dribking are the concerns with getting expensive rugs. Not kids. :) They aren't pooping and peeing and puking everywhere. On the floor you will have baby on a blanket anyway. Get the nice rug. 😉

Congratulations! I love the sofa and the chairs. The sofa looks very comfortable. I’m going to have to add some kind of material to my seat cushions. I already added something to the back cushions, that’s because my dogs squish them down. But I guess the seat cushions need some kind of batting or something to give them a little more cushion. It better than buying a new sofa. And I sit on our sofa all the time.

I agree as an adult I can see why she likes it but with a baby ? She even admitted it came from a negative place. Me personally would prefer positivity in my home.

I used to work in a gallery we wore t shirts that said REAL ART DOES NOT MATCH YOUR COUCH - but for kids, no hanging cords to anything, no hard surfaces, nothing white, nothing that will TIP OVER if they try to climb it - however a child will be a baby for a very short time, you don't have to sell everything, put some stuff in moms basement or storage!

This! If you want the luxe look, that piece needs to be framed. Just some lumber cut frome Home Depot, and pick out a stain you like. Your contractor friend can add the frame. If you went to a framer it would be insanely expensive.

So excited for you both! ❤🎉 Cannot wait to see the full transformation! I wanted to share a furniture shopping tip as a fellow designer who loves lux for less. My previous job was at a model home company. We would liquidate the furniture, rugs, accessories, even some drapery panels for the builders we worked with once their model home was sold. For SO much less. As an example, I got 2 Jonathan Louis sofas for about $600 (granted I got a little bit of a discount but still). So see if there’s some kind of similar company in your area. Hope this was helpful!

It's Baby Girl's birth month!!!!! All this nesting is going well. That HUGE piece is STUNNING.... I wish I could find something that size. The room is really warm and cozy... So excited for you and Babe. You look great and seem happy

Yeah paying top dollar for old stuff, noooo! I'm with you on the art front! Regards baby, a) congrats, b) even when my two were in a walker and drinking from a Tippee cup, it was kept in the kitchen on a low shelf/stool. They weren't allowed to bring it from there, but, they just went into the kitchen grabbed their cup, had a drink and came back! Have a permanent bowl in the kitchen with water with some Milton steriliser and a sprinkle of bicarbonate of soda for all the spills before they're too mobile. You will BOTH be nap people after tge baby is here!! 😂😂😂

Oh!! It's a boy!! I have 2 boys and 2 grandsons and 2 granddoggers. You'll have so much fun with him. Do not put things "up" from the baby, you'll be able to teach him to leave them alone as he grows. It's amazing how one little person can change your whole house and routine. But sooo worth it. Can't wait to knowvhis name. Congrats and best wishes. BTW drinking raspberry juice helps with labor by relaxing the pelvis and strengthing the muscles. You've got to let us know when he enters this world. He's going to have 2 wonderful parents that will love him. ❤ but then you said "her"....I'm so confused Just as long as the baby is healthy.

Oh you are ahead of the game already, using the kid as an excuse to get something new & shiny! One of my friends told me it was the second best thing about having kids (after the adorableness), that they were great excuses for almost anything. I ADORE my pill shaver,it's fun & effortless & the results are amazing. Best tool ever. OK, the paintings are not my jam but I can see that they are from an incredible talent. Also, like the sofa, they have all the primary baby colors in them, pee, poo, & spit-up. I think that smaller one might scare the crap out of a child but maybe not if you grow up with it. Can't wait to see the nursery---and the answer is YES, your style will hold up to a baby---you had your dog as a puppy, yes? And baby will grow up with a sense of style, one way or another!

I honestly wouldnt worry about kids wrecking everything. Just make sure its safe. Theyll climb and pull on everything eventually. Youll still have your style though! Kids are amazing and way more capeable than people give them credit for.

I agree with you about the prices in thrift stores. I would buy there when kids were young because I could not afford even WM. Now I cannot afford the thrift store. I realize we cant stop people reselling for a profit [I hear that is why prices have gone up] But it sure does hurt the rest of us who just want to put clothes on our bodies.

Dude, the SECOND you sat on the sofa at 0:39 , I never wanted to throw out my current one more. My biggest pet peeve about couch shopping is pilling. Almost everything is made of polyester, and if a couch is made of a higher quality fabric you're easily paying 7-10k on a damn sofa. I did get a pill shaver and it does indeed get those little balls, but it's unable to grasp those stringy couch fibres that haven't quite turned into balls yet. That couch looks to DIE for. Such a good find!! I think I missed what store you got the couch from? Can you share the fabric/material? PS I loooove your tops. I would ask where you got them but I'm Canadian and we don't have the same stores :(
