Ty Johnson is underrated. Maybe Ray Davis will be very good too. They both should get plenty of carries so Cook is not overused.

It takes a while for a new back to get used to an offense, its plays, and its line. It was that way for Thurman, for example. I'd expect Davis and Ty getting reps, but then Davis earning more of them from the other two after about 8 games in.

There is no question that Ty Johnson will get the 2nd most snaps due to knowing the system and how well he performed. I would expect that they all receive many more passes.

I love that Ty Johnson has 2 fumbles in the last 6 years. Hes a tough guy to tackle and he can catch. But cant help but wonder what a 5-8 220 lb back can do. I hope he can take Latavious Murrays spot he got us some difficult yards.

James cook is 1A with Ty 1B. If cook has the drops again he might lose some of the 1A snaps. I really really wish Beane would make a move for Montgomery, he’s basically the 27yo Latavius Murray. The Ray Davis pick still kinda puzzles me. Especially when we saw how good a bigger back did last year for us.

My worry on the oline is the depth … lots of young guys and Collins who has bounced around

Nope, Sal is just plain ole wrong about being able to just easily find undrafted free agent, high impact, running backs. Just look around the league right now. There’s a few. But overwhelmingly the best RBs in the league are typically drafted between the 2nd and 4th round. Just because something has happened before does mean it’s “easy”. He’s making the same argument as the people who say you should only draft 6th and 7th round QBs. You know because of a whole 2 times in the past 25 years there’s been a good QB drafted there, being Brady and Purdy. You shouldn’t be taking EXTREMELY OBVIOUS anomalies and confusing that with something common. If it was really that easy people would be doing it all the time. But nots even remotely what’s actually happening. These analysts got to stop with putting hopes into extremely low probability outcomes.

Ray Davis is taking over for Cook after 2 years. Then let Cook walk. Draft another mid round RB then. NEVER re sign RBs.

Cook will be the RB1 no question, TY Johnson will get the back up reps as he played that role well last year. Davis will get some reps and I hope it’s in a versatile role and not just short yardage situations, he will need to have immediate success on his reps or mcnumbnutt will keep him out of production for the vast majority of reps
