Talking of in-ear pieces, I heard in an interview that on their Live Aid performance, they couldn’t actually hear each other. They had to rely on experience & a week’s worth of rehearsing. Apparently Roger didn’t even know how well it was going until he looked up near the end and saw the audience swaying like a field of wheat. And thought, oh it’s not gone too badly then😂

The audience loved and learned "Love of My Life" from the studio version. It is too beautiful to ignore. Queen, masterfully, stripped it down to a simple, personal performance. If you chose to react to the original, I think you'll be impressed. Thanks.

Queen were multi instrumentalist. Freddie played piano, guitar, tambourine and the audience darling ( his words!) John plays bass, acoustic guitar, piano and on one occasion the double bass!. Brian plays guitar, piano, ukulele, banjo and on one track the harp! And Roger beats them all playing drums, rhythm guitar, bass, piano, and can get a tune/rhythm out of a stylophone, thimble and kazoo!!😂 In addition, Freddie had a phenomenal voice and Brian and Roger have great voices too. They all wrote no.1 singles and are therefore all in the Song Writers Hall of Fame as individuals. Freddie had piano lessons but only up to grade 4, and as far as I know, all the others were self-taught. Multi instrumentalist equals multi talented and thats without discussing their diplomas, degrees and PhD. Queen the greatest

Yes, 'Dangerously Comfortable' is an apt adage to describe Freddie's performance style. ❤Thank God dear Freddie used his inimitable powers for good.....Otherwise the World would have been in big big trouble.

I don't think Sir Dr. Brian May makes mistakes. He's an astro physicist and has worked with Nasa. Built his guitar, The Red Special, from things around the house with his father when he was 17. The only time I think Brian was nervous was when he played "God Save The Queen" on top of Buckingham Palace. He said he felt sick, afraid he would make a mistake. He didn't.

Freddie and Brian performed this wonderful piece right at the close Live Aid, that's why it's night as opposed to the daytime set. Beautiful wonderful Freddie, gone way too soon.
@Mikey-DiLo
You need to watch Love of My Life live in Rio. 500,000 non English speaking people singing this song back to Freddie and Brian. Freddie was overcome by emotion because the band didn’t think the audience would understand them. They were even chanting Brian’s name.

You would have to nail Freddie to a stool if you wanted him to stay on it xx

This voice, this band....you never get it again......worlds best band, then and now...

For some great guitar playing, you should check out White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975. Freddie and Brian do a magical instrumental during the performance.

Great reaction . Now let's look at them way back in 1974, live at the rainbow and listen/watch Liar written by Freddie years before Queen. Every member has their own time to shine. This band always had rehearsals regularly and long sound checks the day of the concert. They used eye to eye contact between each other when performing. also observe that when finishing a song Freddie will wait until all their eyes are on him before signalling stop. When Freddie is playing the piano John the bass player is always close by this allowed Freddie to keep with the rhythm. Great band I've been a fan since their formation,we the Queenie's will guide and support you on your journey.

Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981. The studio version of this song is different than the live and very good.
