How karma plays a part when there is no free will .... if there is no actual doer, then who suffers and based on what karma... according to Ramana Maharshi , Nissargadutta, and Ramakrishna, everything is a divine will and already designed, so the karma theory is a little confusing .. It's such a fascinating topic

may be we are just the image of god in this 4 dimension who plays hide and seek with himself.

also, isn't it strange that the fact of me being personaly raised and lived in Algeria far away from vedanta and hindou filosophy ( let me call it this way), we often say that this life is a dream or a dream like and that bad actions will be back to you like a boomrong one day or another. who knows. blessings.

Yes.a fascinating topic. Desires lead to karma..impressions..tendencies and more karma. Cut at the root..desires.

@anandavallithangam1001 but that desire is also already designed based on ur tendencies, and that has been proven a lot of time by studying the brains of criminals and other sociopaths

There are different levels..absolute n transactional. At our level we suffer..but when we transcend this level n realise our true Self we se all this as a play of consciousness.

What is good karma? This is the most extraordinarily ambiguous thing. Every person would give a totally different answer. How can this be known at all? To truly know that, I gotta know the entirety of god's design itself of everything. Everyone is acting to the best of their ability and judgment right? So where does a "good" karma feature in? They all are doing the good'iest thing they know right? So what do I even need to tell them? The good karma business looks like a made up simplistic thing. Then they'd say - it is all in the intention. But where does the intention come from? that is not its own cause, but rather an effect of all that you hold in mind etc. The road to hell is paved with good intentions too. I don't know, this karma stuff is almost insultingly grossly simplified. How is the person responsible for his/her predicament when 99.9999...% just happens. The same would have happened even in past lives, the same out of control 99.9999...% And time just beats the person up throughout the lifetime with the endless tetris of survival and all sorts of compulsions. Why would it not do that in every lifetime? They say great rishis and siddhas, even if they took charge of 1% of life energy, they would become near superman. So when our free will and knowing itself is in the sub sub 1% range, how are we attributed the full responsibility of our state? How is ALL of it the person's doing? If 99.9999...% of the doing is unconscious. The poor person is a victim of a merciless mess of an existence a billion times larger than himself. Do happy people deserve all credit? I see all of it as god's doing and not the persons doing in any way. God's random incomprehensible impossibly vast workings randomly dish out happiness to some and torture to others. What value is it to add past lives to this, when the same crap would have happened even before, maybe even worse, at least we have better survival facilities and tech now etc. A practical advice could be given saying - just act with whatever you think is best, for whatever random situation you find yourself in. But why even say that, is that not self evident? and won't the person do just that anyway? Also my point of contention is about how can that person be blamed in any way for his condition? IF instead the person is told - "see, existence is incomprehensible unimaginable in its ways and unfortunately it has been extremely harsh to you. we don't know why or we cannot even begin to know since it is so complex. however, just start wherever you are and try to improve your situation" This would be good karma right from the person. But they why even tell them anything, is that not common sense?! he would anyway do that even without telling? Whereas it seems like wherever I read about karma, they blame the person for the entirety of the bad in his/her life. That is something I just cannot understand. How is this theory so readily accepted without any critical thinking. The critical thinking part is not to refute it, rather it is for understanding sake. What the hell is good who knows, We can comment and judge anything only after the event has happened in retrospect and call it good or bad. What is good or bad in prospect? How can this be known? This is such a deep topic and I find kindergarden like lectures everywhere about this. The deeper I study astrology, psychology, genetics, early years of conditioning, socio-cultural influence, the less I see any free will at all, let alone a karma spanning multiple lives. It feels like karma theory is the ultimate victim blaming elevated to a systemic principle. Anyway, this was kind of my rant, if anyone has any interesting thoughts on this, please share. I am shocked Vivekananda being an intellectual of that level, would speak about karma so crudely. Please leave a like if you relate to this.

What is not tangible or can't be proven by available scientific deductions doesn't exist is not true. e.g. is it so that gravitational force didn't exist before Sir Isaac Newton proved it mathematically ? Science and Spirituality are complementary to each other. Both are needed for enlightenment in this journey from birth to death. 🔥🕉️🙏
