“How come he don’t want me man?” Honestly probably one of the saddest lines I’ve ever heard in any movie or tv show ever.

So will did NOT go off script for this scene. That was a rumor that was spread online and people kept sharing it and believing it. The writer himself said it was all in the script. But will was having trouble with this scene as it was the most serious throng he had ever done at the time. James Avery, Uncle Phil, helped push him in order to get this amazing acting out of him. At the end when they’re hugging, James had whispered in Wills ear, “Now that’s fucking acting.”

He did not go off script, the internet perpetuates this. *continues to perpetuate an idea of what Unc Phil said* 😂

@@Jchillin757 except the part about what uncle Phil said actually is real, and was confirmed by Will also. Why would I immediately post something that wasn’t true after explaining the first part? 🙄

@@Jchillin757 To double up on the explanation; Will Smith literally said in interview that Avery said that. You can easily Google the interview yourself.

When a woman chooses a thug instead of a nerd (not judging thats her preference) there are consequences not just for her but for her child as well , you don't see medical school or law school students with baby mammas , women maybe its best if you choose better , you may not be super attracted to the nerds, but atleast your future children won't be in the comments hurting like these innocent people because of their moms taste in men .

Don't forget a lot of these women are completely manipulated. They don't have great examples of men with quality character when they're growing up, they're vulnerable and desperate for the affection and love and acceptance. And then a guy comes in and sweeps them off their feet. Makes them feel special. Tells them all kinds of stuff, tons of promises about what they're gonna do - they're gonna get this good job or they're gonna be promoted to manager at their job, they're gonna get an apartment together, he's gonna take care of her/their family. And she believes him. And by the time the guy's true colors show, she's already got the baby, and now scrambles to try to go to college/find a job while still supporting that kid, cause the guy's gone. A lot isn't the 'being attracted to thugs instead of nerds'. They're not even meeting nerds, much less rejecting them. I mean, you think some 18 year old girl from a poor part of town working at McDonald's is gonna be meeting med students or law students? Also, just because a guy is a nerd doesn't mean he's a good partner or father. Nerds can be lazy and dumb (you see that with incels plenty). Nerds can be abusive. Nerds can flee responsibility and abandon their children (Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple, abandoned his kid. Even with DNA evidence, he refused to acknowledge his daughter for decades, and didn't pay child support while he was busy becoming a billionaire). 'Nerd' doesn't mean good person. Nerd doesn't mean successful person, either.

@trevellyann all good points , doesn't mean men have to date them , same as a 600 pound man who lives in his mother's basement, unemployed, and playing videos games all day says that he has mommy issues doesn't mean gorgeous women have to date him .
