@@devinrazor1861 i think so, yeah. all his rifles and even nick irving's kriss vector are only a semi-autos, hell matt owns an m249 lmg and it was only semi-auto as well which is seriously painful to watch. i think matt had to fight for his full-auto uzi's rights and made videos about it, i believe.

That was the face of concern most likely at the legality of that ak. And the fact that Matt doesn't like to advocate fully auto on RU-vid, mostly because on the drop of a dime, RU-vid can just shut your channel down cuz they I think it's against whatever guidelines.

I was thinking the same thing. Definitely wouldn't have been the same without the cringe factor.

The c-clamps will work, but there was probably a purpose built tool that made the job easier. My imagination has vomited forth something that looks like two two-pronged forks joined at the prong tips with hinges. The tool is laid flat and the trap is placed on top with both springs near the hinge point. Bringing one handle over the trap and pressing it towards the other handle will compress both springs, opening the trap.

Yeah. Try to set those Canterbury traps without the tool...

well yeah they were designed to hold a fucking grizzly also there is a loading tool they didnt have.

That first trap was the real-deal. If Matt hadn't parked his truck directly on top of one of the leaf-springs, it wouldn't have permanently deformed the spring on that side and the trap probably would have continued to work correctly.

@@hardwirecars I know of the "tool" to which you are referring (it's essentially the just a bigger version of what was used to "nock" a crossbow that had too much tension to be nocked by hand). But, those tools weren't commonly used. In the 1700 and 1800s, to arm a trap like this, you'd anchor the central frame-rail of the trap to a sturdy tree and you'd use ropes and snatch-blocks to give you the mechanical-advantage to pull the jaws back far enough to set the trigger.

Matt has the algorithm tamed and pleases the people. Brandon has the guts to spit in the face of anyone and the license and technical skills to own/make/use guns with the fun button.

Yes, they used a screw clamp type setter on these. Original bear traps are hard to find, the setters are even harder to find.

Sorry Jim but no a 150 pound man can stand on the springs and compress them, toothed traps have been illegal for decades and therefore must be unusable to be a display item… this offense they did in the video would get them 500 bucks in fines!
