Howdy Everyone, In this video I'm going to use my home made Truck Jib Crane to lift our new generator into the back of the truck. This will come in handy for mobile welding or other remote tool use.

You might think of adding a snatch block to your winch. It makes the winch lift easier. Less amp draw, and slows the lift speed for safety. Great pickup crane build.

Put a trailer jack on the bottom piece and that will stop the truck from flexing and add more stability to your upright pole

Put some dielectric jelly on the battery connectors, connect and disconnect them a few times to spread it around. That should prevent moisture problems.

On your Anderson plug did you seal the back up with silicone? I just wired my truck front and back with them. I spent the money on weather proof boxes and sealed up the back of the plugs

I run my power cables in my toolbox out of the weather rust free, run my plug out the side, works great ..

Put a leg going to the ground to support the weight.

A leg was in my original design, but it works so well without it. I've used it about 20 times now and I'm quite happy with it the way it is

@@7fatcowsfarm378 I'd still add it. It may work great now but it won't be fun when one of the welds fail because there's too much stress on them.

@@jordanz6901 I was thinking the exact thing. There is a ton of torsion on that poor hitch in the back this is not necessarily about the welds, its about the metal itself it will fail at some point garonteedit. Please give it a hand (or a leg)at least.

Looks like a good way to get hurt or killed your strucyural support isn't about welds it's about structural design so its not disproportionate meaning moving a slide in hitch to the corner or end of bumper with the same structural integrity as the location you are using now would be by far safer for you or anyone else in the crunch zone then again wtf do I know you at your own peril workable yes safe no😮
