It was a chilly day here in Victoria BC when I decided to go for a range test on the Emove Cruiser. I saw the video that Micah did at Electrek Co. and was intrigued with the distance he was able to achieve in Florida....but as a bigger guy I wondered how far it could propel me.....now I know...and I'm impressed :)
Special thank you to ride the glide for lending me the Emove Cruiser for the Range test.

37 miles in wet/windy weather with your h/w seems pretty good. I went around almost 35 with mine as a 6'2 220+ lbs person in dodgy uk weather conditions, altho i pushed it on max speed setting. This scooter is legit, very sturdy, great battery. It's a range king, especially if you up for slightly slower ride.

You sir, make really nice and enjoyable review to watch from start to end without getting bored of too much annoying usless information that everyone repeat every time like script 🤦‍♂️ plus the feeling of natural review doing it for the fun and enjoyment that I personally get from your video is super nice. I trust more your review than some paied professional out there doing just script review, without giving real world information and stuff. Plus, you got my worries away about the water and stuff in the scooter after hearing so many bad review that where kinda meh but build up a bit of a worry in me 😂.. And now I knwo for sure that if you a big guy can make easily 50+ km, me a 60kg guy, can probably make much more no problem 😂😂 ty for the honest work! Talk about challenging conditions chilly rain, rain turning road dust into caked on mud, and wind; all that on top of a bump bridge really presents an interesting test run. Of course this also begs the question, what the range be under ideal conditions? Very unlikely that I would need to ride in rainy conditions but I might find myself out there in less than perfect weather. A range of 34+ miles is perfection under any conditions for me. Just checked a lake I'd love to ride to, have a relaxing afternoon there and loop before heading home. Including the loop the trip is roughly 2 hours and 15 /12 miles. So I could most likely ride an Emov Cruiser in 3rd gear most of the ride, slowing down of course for congested areas and other folk. Thanks again for a real world test ride!

Love your review, Tim. I'm 50+ yo and 250lb. So I love the pizza stop.☺️ And that they let you charge your scooter I would love to aee a detachable battery like those ebikes. It is a deal breaker for me. Instead of lugging the bike/scooter out of your car, you can charge the detachable battery at home/hotel. In this pizza place or a coffee shop or a library, they don't mind you bringing in a battery instead of a scooter. Happy trails. From New York.

Was going to buy two Dualtron ultra/thunder or Zero 11x for the wife and I, because I wanted two escooter that can handle at least 40-50+ miles real world use. We are not into extreme speed and weight at 180lbs and 110lbs. The Dualtron/Zero11x will give us the range for cruising at round 20-25+ and enjoy the great outdoors. However, after doing more research, looks like the Emove Cruiser can do 40+ give or take on normal cruising and it cost less than the Dualtron/Zero11x. The Emove is probably the one. Thanks for the real world review.
@mikes1172
@mikes1172 3 года назад
I own 3 scooters, Ninebot Max, Emove Cruiser and an inexpensive low range scooter plus ridden a handful of others. I normally only ride around the neighborhood locally and probably have seen the longest run at about 11-12 miles total. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but even that can be a little bit tiring. The Emove Cruiser range is beyond normal-typical use, while the Ninebot Max is nice but does reduce overall top speed once the battery drops a few bars. Personally, speaking I think the Kaabo Wolf Warrior would be awesome, extra power, better suspension and plenty of reasonable power as long as you don't plan on transporting it. I've kicked around the notion of buying some extreme scooters but truthfully speaking 50 MPH on a scooter is insane as going full speed on the Emove Cruiser is a little bit daunting with such small wheels. I'm 49, good shape and my girlfriend is 40 and she doesn't even like going over 20 MPH, so a zero 11x in my opinion a waste of money for likely all women. The best upgrade you can get besides bigger battery in my opinion is suspension as that is what really tires you out the most on longer rides. Also, like I said, you will find probably most of your cruising moments in the 15-20 MPH max on open roads, while trails 10 MPHs, so you can take in the sights and be leisurely about the adventure. Going full speed usually only happens in spurts and then back to normal cruising. Anyway, good luck on finding that perfect scooter, which doesn't likely exist, otherwise I wouldn't own 3 already.

Fantastic observations Tommy Lee, first the ride and style of Zero 11x vs the Cruiser is so different...if you want to just relax and cruise then the Cruiser would be my suggestion...but if you want power, hill climbing and some off road fun then the 11x would be the way to go for sure :) take care and thanks for leaving your comment :)

Still not working... Sent my scooter back to them... They sent me one that the wheels didn't turn. Worked with them over email to do the repairs myself. No one will talk to me on the phone. They were pretty expedient when it came to responding and having it sent back. I have a bunch of questions about my scooter and the way it should be running / fixed and I'm receiving sparse emails through customer support. The scooter runs great when I first got it. Impressed by the motor, battery, and suspension. That being said the overall build quality really seems cheap to me. As someone who uses the rental scooters around Pittsburgh all the time - they feel significantly more solid than the Emove cruiser. I'm still awaiting the proper parts to be sent my way as the last shipment I received didn't include all the parts or even the correct parts. I currently have a total of 60 miles on my scooter and have had maybe 5 days of good riding on it. I regret my purchase. I've probably spent a total of 2k on the scooter and whatever accessories for it and I really regret this. I just not waited for an updated shipment from voro of parts only to receive it again and find out that I'm still missing some parts. I do not recommend this scooter.

I stopped for 10mins every 10+miles 5. 95% of the journey was flat ground, no huge hills but 5% was the odd few slopes, also the the ground was very rarely 100% smooth, it was usually rough concrete roads and paths. (If I was to guesstimate, I think if i was going 15mph I could probably get an extra 10miles and possibly an extra 15miles if I was going 10mph. on my old scooter the kugoo m4 pro speed made a huge difference in range, full speed 25-30mph would only get me about 12miles whearas lowering speed to 10miles would allow it to do 30miles)

It depends. If you can do a simple 45 second plug then tubeless. When you have to take a tire off and replace it then a split rim is easier (tubbed) Cheers Tim

Is nice that you allowed to use those bicycle trials here in the capital we got the NCC rule by a bunch of old farts that won't allowed electric scooters on the paths.

that does seem a bit prehistoric ...I ride on them at the same speeds as the bicycles in front of me ...respectful of their space and hopefully we won't be met with such vitriol :)

Would you recommend the emove touring scooter for a person that weighs 290 pounds?

I would...if the terrain isn't too hilly...lots of flat roads then no problem IMHO :)

Not to insult anyone, but it was cold and Timothy is overweight, moreover, there were some slopes. So in summer, flat terrain and with a normal weight driver, it should go 100 km.

absolutely Akula...in fact I think I mentioned in the video that I saw a lighter rider in a warmer climate get over 100kms...amazing scooter :) Did you see my Best Scooters of 2020?
