Have had this reply from Sonos. Hope it helps: Thank you for contacting Sonos. I checked on this feature when the Arc Ultra was initially presented to us and I can confirm that the Auto EQ system that the original Arc had is not present in the Arc Ultra as the feature is not longer needed due to the speaker output of the Arc Ultra not needing to be altered when wall mounted. This is a further improvement that the Ultra has over the original Arc.
Looking forward to your full review and prefered settings? the latter is always preference, but gives an idea. Hopefully you compare just the arc and ultra first and not full setup with dual subs, not everyone has a dual sub setup.
You would think with only a few days until release, assuming this product is as incredible as they say, that reviews would be online already to get people hyped up. Very bizarre that with less than 72 hours until release there are no reviews.
I would assume because they just released the supporting software for the Arc ultra. In Netherlands apparently they shipped already last week but rest of world is tomorrow. I’ll get mine tomorrow. Happy to share my impressions comparing directly with the normal arc
Peter, you gotta quit keeping us in suspense! I picked up the arc ultra today and it sounds fantastic (noticeably better than the arc), but I want the affirmation of your review with the data haha.
I received my Sonos ARC Ultra yesterday and will say as follows. Set- up - Arc Ultra / ERA 100’s / Sub Gen 3 living room is open concept. Arc Ultra out the box without EQ adjustments you can hear the difference now this wasn’t done Arc Ultra solo it was combine with my setup. Once I adjusted the EQ wow huge difference all around testing movies from my Apple device / Netflix using Firestick Dolby Atmos and Movie from Prime Video huge difference and actually with sound being at 15 high. Cons: True Play I really don’t care for as my living room is open concept and True play won’t make a difference also my ceiling is 12ft high. Sonos by releasing the Arc Ultra I believe is making up for the update they released back in May / June 2022 that messed up the configuration of the ARC. That’s my personal opinion. Closing thoughts: I give the Arc Ultra 8/10 reason it’s just day one and need to see other settings. FYI: Previous mount does work fine it’s same distance on bracket ✌️
It might actually be a very good option for those that don't like/want the auto EQ damping of the Sonos wall mount. You now have the ability with both Arc versions to swap between the v1 and v1 Arc wall mounts if you don't want or need this feature.
I currently run a Beam Gen2 and a Sub Gen3 with Symfonisk Boolshelfs as sourround.. Planing to go ARC Ultra and Era 300. Would you also Upgrade the sub? Or is the difference between gen 3 and 4 not too noticeable?
With the shorter wall mount, you will now have to drill new holes as well. If you were lucky not to mount your gen 1 mount on a nice decorative wall then you can just patch up the holes. But aesthetically you’re compromised either way depending on how anal you are with your wall.
Will the actual wall mounting points be the same measurement between the original Arc bracket and the new Ultra wall mount. If I do end up having to buy the new one, I really don’t want to be having to drill new holes into our wall.
Looking forward to your full Sonos Arc Ultra review. Buying a sound bar for Black Friday. Outside of Sonos, what is your next recommendation for a sound bar (same price range as Ultra). Thanks for the great content!
Peter: I contacted Sonos Product Support and they confirmed exactly what you said in this update, i.e., that the original wall mount will work, however, there may be aesthetic issues. I use the Sanus wall mount that that does not have the magnets and can extend up to 4" away from the wall for my original Arc. Because it can extend out, there is already a bit of an aesthetic issue, however, I do not find it objectionable for my application. My question is since the Arc Ultra has Sound Motion driver will it create a significant amount of additional vibration that could impact the mount?
I currently have a Sonos Arc with Sub Gen 3 and 2 SL as surrounds. I was thinking to upgrade to ERA300s as surround but they came with Arc Ultra and Sub Gen 4. And now, I am confused what should I do? Please advice @Peterpee.
IMO just get the 300s and you will be blown away. sub gen4 wont change anything tbh. i can feel the urge to get the ultra, but if you change the arc with the ultra it wont be a huuuge difference. but the 300s will do a big one.
@@johnsinachiris1 that was my original plan to just add ERA 300S as surrounds and then apparently a second sub. But now Sonos came up with this Ultra and Sub Gen 4 and I am like so confused. Lol
@@rampyrs its all about your budget after a certain point. i would suggest add the 300s as a first step and then, after living with this setup, if you can afford the ultra then get it.
new to your channel and i really like your video´s :). Planning to purchase arc ultra and i´m interested to hear does this new sound motion speakers work same in wall mount and placed top of counter top?
I have the Sanus Extendable Soundbar TV Mount Designed for Sonos ARC , but Best Buy updated the page and it says now it works for ARC & ARC ULTRA. It’s gonna stick out a little but idk .
