It’s the one we’ve been waiting for. That walking bucket, Will Bynum, finally drops by to talk shop on Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles. Just some backstory: Bynum is the reason for this podcast. We wanted to highlight players that the casual fan might not know, but who the NBA community reveres and honors. Will the Thrill is that hooper. We hear about his start in Chicago, the myth being made. His move to Lute Olson’s Arizona and why he left for Georgia Tech. The hours he spent on his craft. His overseas journey. Finally busting into the NBA. To his new life as a trainer. Will talks about the game like the craftsman he is. But don’t let his humble nature fool you. The man is a basketball savant and a teacher. He helped D-Rose get his game back solid. He can also hit you with the oral history of how the Shammgod traveled the world and back again. You can’t miss this one. It’s extra-extra-special. Will means everything to Chicago hoops. His impact is felt throughout the city. It’s an honor to have Will Bynum join the show.

Great talk as always. One small suggestion, I think Will and Pat Beverley were your only guests so far with notable stints in Europe. So it wouldn't hurt to ask a few question more about their days overseas for your international viewers. Keep it up!

@@dayvo04 That was the period when , then GM Joe Dumars was trying to rebuild on the fly. With that, Joe D traded team Captian Chauncey Billups for AI.. Then, added guard Ben Gordon. So, they had a log-jam at the guard position..Rip Hamilton, Gordon, AI, Rodney Stuckey and Will B.. It was a hot azz mess. Due to Joe handing the Keys to second year player Stuckey whom he hoped woul dlead them back. But, there was a problem.. AI wanted start at the 1...Rip wanted start.. So you had three guys wanting to start.. Even Ben Gordon with his new Phatt contract wanted to start.. However, thu out the mess, Will was the one player who was steady and the coaches loved him.. But, they had to contend with the egos.. Then, to make matters worst, the Piston longtime owner /Bill Davidson died .. That left the team in complete limbo. As the wife wanted no part of running the franchise. So, the proud organization was on the sellers block. That meant Joe D could not make any moves to fix the mess they were in.. Will got lost in the numbers. But, Joe D still gave him a nice contract.

See, thats what i like about this show, the respect and admiration shown to guests. Other sports shows only talk about the media hyped players, but seem to ignore or brush off the not so "popular" players like they're some sort of scrubs--totally disrepecting the amount of work and skill it took to get to the league in the first place...and just cuz you dont make it into "the league" doesn't mean you're a scrub. Great episode.

Will exudes wisdom as he speaks. I appreciate his humility. I wish that Q & D would've acknowledged/expounded more on how significant a role/impact he had on Tony Allen (an NBA presence in his own right) even having a career in basketball. That's significant. Shows Will's sacrificial character from a young age. Much respect from me.

Will the Thrill was/is a legend from the Chi. From his days in highschool lighting it up at UIC. His stint with Georgia Tech was a highlight reel. The summer days he would pack the hot gym during the Chicago Pro Am. His time with Detroit. He didn’t get his just due in the league do to politics. Dude would put up a quick 10 pts playing for Detroit on limiting minutes. This dude use to create new moves every time he was on display. There was a Golden Age of Chi Town basketball right before his era but he carried the torch for Chi Town Hoopers. 1 Bynum 2 Bailey 3 Sawyer 4 Dockery 5 Brown

Ike was sticking Tony and he was our best defender at the time.. I seen Tony shake Ike something nasty going baseline and I had never seen anybody do Ike like that b4.. And Will was just a blur.. up and down easy buckets and set ups.. We was nice that year too had big Brandon Pruitt who ended up getting locked up but he was a dog..
