This is it! We show how to replace the Jaguar V12's magentic distributor pickup assembly / plate. This is part of the V12 Lucas Constant Energy Ignition system equipped on this car. Does this fix it? Come along as we replace it and find out!

Excellent how to. Unfortunately, my 92 Marelli facelift barely starts and runs, but idles real slow and won't respond to throttle input.

The amount of work that goes into fixing such apparently simple things is just insane. I imagine a lot of these cars were scrapped when they weren't that apprechiated and you couldn't find many to fix them...

I definitely think that's the case. Plus many were neglected from maintenance for similar reasons, cost and finding someone knowledgeable so they became even harder to repair and values of the cars dropped making it harder to want to do. Too bad indeed that all plays in

Nice. Sounds like you got a fantastic deal on this very clean XJS. If kept up properly, the XJS is fairly reliable, especially with mostly GM parts.

Is it possible to turn the engine over by hand without removing anything or by just removing a few things?
