Will there be rust? Taking interior out of my 1965 Pontiac barn find.

After bringing this 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix home, I wanted to see if there would be any rust in the floors, since I couldn’t find any on the body. Lots of people enjoy driving old classic cars, but I think many do not understand what it takes to get them road worthy, especially when they have sat for decades.
This video is about ripping the carpet out, and taking the seats and front door cards out. Sorry again about the terrible music. My editor software only allows for certain songs. Hope you enjoy!

The 66 GP is a beautiful design, the other years as well . This one looks in not back shape . It would be great back on the road

Center of okla but that car is from North Carolina originally. Not sure how long it spent on the coast, but I think the floor rot is from that. That and a leaky heat core! But yes I think I’m going to have to see about getting it running next!

I see others here have correctly identified this as a 66 Pontiac GP. I owned a 66 Pontiac Bonneville years ago, boy oh boy, was it ever a gorgeous auto, had everything power, with perfect fender skirts, too. The 66, the dash gauges/clock, were in square housings canted a bit toward the driver. I also had a 65 Bonneville I bought on a whim, intending to restore, years ago, it was ok body-wise, a desert car, but needed lotsa work. The gauges/clock, housings in the 65, tho, were round, again canted toward the driver. beautiful autos, so awesomely better than today's plastic and aluminum, cookie cutter designed cars, with absolutely no eye appeal or charisma whatsoever!!!!!

Save it. At 18, I had a 64 Bonneville coupe 389 tri power. Sold it to go to college. Good investment. Sad to see it go. ‼️👍💯😁

Whoa! So it would be a 421 car then if the tripower was factory in 66? That’s the unicorn, my friend. I’ve got two other GPs a lemans that run and drive and a 2+2 that’s still barn fresh. I just love Pontiacs. They look like a pretty lady laying down on her side, or something. Plus, loads of smooth power. Love them.

You are kidding about it being a parts car? As 55-plus years old cars go, this looks ready to restore for reasonable money. And I really do think it is special.

I was told it ran when parked in 1992. So, I think my next step is see if she will bust off. Going to pull plugs and pour some mystery oil down the cylinders and let it sit several days first though. I’ve got 2 other cars that I drive a show that sat a whole lot longer, but they were both in dry sealed up garages. Not a carport. So stay tuned, and we will see! Rich, you have several ponchos? I’ve only got 5 now. Sold my GTO conv recently and shouldn’t have done it….

Forgive me for saying this, but your nuts if you think that's a parts car. Any car that sits anywhere may have aome rust. I absolutely love 66 FULL SIZE.
