We're traveling without a lot of the best muscle in the front five. It's very odd to be coming to NZ and think that we're better equipped in the backs than in the forwards. Hopefully we get parity in the pack and then we can all watch the backs do there thing. Apart from being pragmatic and a personality that can get great buy-in, Razor had the Crusaders playing like an NH Team, so I'm anticipating an AB team where we recognize the playing style.

@@fu8713Should have won the World Cup though? Robertson was the best option after Hansen. Not Foster. So glad it’s happened now. The whole country was relieved when it was announced, but still peeved off it didn’t happen earlier.

@fu8713 complaining? Ireland beat you and the entire Kiwiland was in distraught and could not handle the loss! Deeming it a 'shock' upset when they were beaten by the better team. The public went into excuse mode and complained non-stop about coaches, players, ref, etc. So don't accuse other teams are complaining or sulking. Perhaps deal with losing occasionally as a part of sport

As great as a coach as Robertson is im curious that if he loses the first few tests matches and fails to live up to the lofty expectations of kiwis, will he receive the same treatment as Foster? Will fans and 'experts' demand his head rolls, he is sacked and players dropped? We all know that kiwis cant handle losing and are expected to win all of the time...especially in NZ where a loss is labelled a 'shock upset'.

You would probably want Newell, Taylor, Barrett, & Reece. Also Williams if he is fit. So that is 5. And then there are a few possibilities including Blackadder & Hotham. Part of the reason for their poor result has been unavailability of some of those guys for a large part. And I dont know, but you have to have some doubts as to whether their coaching was up to scratch. So I think the coaches have to look at the bigger picture.

Ridiculous. What back 5 Crisis? The back 5 is the one area where the 5 players picked in the World Cup Final are all still available going forward (although Will Jordan is currently injured) NZ has huge depth in their back 5. At Fullback BB is back or they could go with one of the exciting new boys in Stevenson or Love plus there is have DMac, JB or Petofeta as cover. It is going to be incredibly tough to select the wingers even without Jordan. Who do they go with out of (previous ABs) Tele'a, Reece, Clarke, and Narawa .... is there room for a new AB from guys pushing for a spot like Nanai-Seturo, Moorby or Rayasi. The midfield also has an abundance of talent available. JB and Ioane must be favored to start, but who provides cover and who misses out from (previous ABs) Lienert-Brown, Tupaea, McLeod, Havili .... or again despite all the existing talent do we see a new AB in Proctor and don't forget Aumua. Razor stole him from MP for the Crusaders before he left so much rate him. So what back 5 Crisis? Ridiculous!! Discuss who is the all critical halfback - 1st Five combo (and their back ups). Discuss who is the tight 5, particularly the locks. Discuss who are the loose forwards and what is the best combination / balance for the loosies. The one area I'm not concerned about for the ABs is the back 5

@@ds6914 oh .... ok. Never heard the locks and loosies referred to as the back 5 before .... back 5 is normally midfield, wingers and fullback. I watched the entire Breakdown show on Sunday night but not actually this shortened clip .... if they meant the locks and loosies then my bad

There are 38 - 41 players in Super Rugby NZ who have already played for the All Blacks! The issue is does Robertson a) stay with experience and only pick new players when he wants to experiment OR b) start picking new players off the bat to find his All Black team Lets hope he chooses (a)! Of those who have played for the All Blacks in the back 5 are 2ND-5 - Barrett, havili, Tupaea, MacLeod CENTRE- Ioane, Leniert Brown WINGS - Telea, Clarke, Narawa, Reece, Johnson FULLBACK - Jordan, MacKenzie, B Barrett So where is the issue? Centre looks a bit thin hence Proctor. In terms of looking at other players I think Robertson may look at Love for fullback.

The experts are already panicking and setting excuses for if they lose. I'm curious if they'll apply the same pressure on Robertson if the All Blacks struggle in their first few matches. If they get beaten, will Robertson be sacked?

No,NZ rugby had the best domestic comp in the wourld,that's what gave them the edge. And when the game went professional ,the northern hemisphere stripped it.That's why we are where we're at today.

@@williamcarter3933 I'm not. The players were amateur - THEY WERE NOT PAID TO PLAY. Touring teams regularly played the provinces on yrly tours,and many were beaten.That was because of the quality of the provincial teams.Had nothing to do with them being ' professional". We were professional in terms of aattitude and approach to the game.And that's it. Our NPC - was the best in the world,but it was an amateur comp,from an amateur era.The first NPC was in 1976. Northern hemisphrere types have gotthis ridiculous idea that we were only winning in that amateur era because we were all pro's.We weren't - it's just an excuse used to explain away why NZ was so good in that era.

Look at the world rankings: 1..Springboks 2. Blue Bulls 3. ALL BLACKS 4. IRELAND 5. France. etc. The Springboks has a injury crisis. We respect the All Blacks very much and forgive me if we tease you above. Have mercy on us when we play again but remember we have learned a few tricks. You are a maybe a stronger team but the difference I think is that our coaches have more tricks in their bag?

Finau 6, Blackadder 7, Sotutu 8. Ardie leads a bunch of pure athletic freak bomb squad like guys (the wellington hooker and Lose) off the bench as full impact players like southafrica does and they all change their fitness levels to suit playing for those minutes.

John Kirwan is one of the most arrogant, blatant, one eyed commentators who simply cannot handle the Kiwis ever losing. When the Pumas beat them he could not even compliment them, he was just silent and shocked, and then floundered for excuses to justify how the All Blacks lost. And here he is already setting in motion excuses to fall back onto. The man is a dropkick

Reuben Love was terrible in the semifinal. He's nowhere near international level on that performance alone and he's been average for the last few hurricanes games he's played.

No wasn't. You have to appreciate the Canes underperformed. Love played well, was solid and was one of the few who started some good moves. He took high balls 100%, solid on defence and was one of the few who didn't constantly kick the ball away. Jordie Barrett wasn't too flash and was one who kicked the ball away.

@@larrytasker7043 LOL you're on drugs mate he knocked the ball on and made tons of mistakes in this game one of his turnovers lead to one of the main chiefs tries which decisively turned the game to the chiefs. He was terrible. He needs another year or two in super rugby.
