Ballast resistor will make it run while you hold the key on. If your not familiar with one its a small white ceramic block on the firewall to the right of where the wiring harness comes out , cant miss it. They are like $ 6 or something. WOW , those control arms are toast , scary ! Im wondering if the motor is blown with all that smoke or if the head gasket is bad.
I swapped the ballast resistor first and it was still doing it. I just just happen to have a couple sitting around because I've got a few mopar. Ended up narrowing it down to an issue in the ignition switch itself. A bypass switch was easier than doing that lol
