WOW that is in great shape. My Grandfather had a 69, navy blue with blue leather and black top. My grandmother had a 66 LC Convertible, it was light yellow, they were tanks, My grandmother's car was totaled after a tree fell on it.. she was heartbroken.
Yes, I would have to agree on the shape of things. That is sick that your family was all running around in Continentals. These things are true classics. Thanks for the comment. Your family sounds like a cool bunch
I would have liked to have seen the instrument cluster and the odometer don't know if you mentioned how many miles. Looks like a nice project can't wait to see how it comes out.
I def have lots of footage of the inside. I will post that on future projects as the car progresses. I believe it was 58k or so on the odometer. Thanks for watching !!!
Forgot to say I’m the proud owner of a 1970 Mark lll (bought in 1985), a 66 Toronado bought in 1984 and last my 67 Tbird Landau coupe purchased in 1989. Still have all three of them and have amassed a collection of NOS parts the past 30+ years!!!! Long live the personal luxury cars!!!!
A good thing to do on a car that has been sitting is to drain the coolant and put in straight water to flush the system because the coolant will gum up if the water was evaporated and harden in the water pump thermostat housing and even the radiator it gets real bad so it's a good idea to flush the coolant out a few times after it's been hot just to get all the anti freeze out because that stuff does not evaporate it just sits and hardens and plugs everything up
I always use an outboard boat tank hooked up to the pump inlet the prime it with the hose bulb and use the carbs accelerator to get fuel in the engine with the air cleaner on, if a valve is stuck you might get a face full of flaming gas doing it the way you did. also add some two stroke oil to the fuel to lubricate the motor first tank. really helps. Be safe and keep on having fun with it .
It’s Alive, It’s Alive, It’s Alive Yes, Yes, Yes IT’S ALIVE 😎😎😎😎🤓🤓🤓🤓🤩🤩🤩🤩😝😛😜🤪🥳🤠🤑🤡💀👾😈👻. It definitely hurts me to see have an antique, classic and vintage ride with it’s body in pretty good condition not the best of condition but in pretty good shape and to have it sit since 1986 collect rust and small holes 🕳 in certain parts but they can be cut out and replaced with replacement pieces of steel sheeting welded in sanded and painted or with the proper funds and takin to a restoration shop do an off the frame rotisserie restoration back to it’s originality with the same leather interior and add a factory remote control mirror for the front passenger side door. All in all hat’s 🎩 off two thumbs up 👍🏿👍🏾 on getting back running. I happen to be a brother from another mother. Sincerely Yours Truly Ivan I J 😎😎😎😎

Awesome Car!!!! I smiled when she fired up and must say it sounds great !!! The exhaust was nice and smooth too. No putting or sputtering sounds, means engine is pretty healthy as well as Carb working properly which after sitting all that time amazes me!
Thanks for the comment. I would have to agree with everything you said. I was shocked by the way it just purrrrrred. I'm excited to get it on the road and get it out on a family trip. Def stick around as I will be updating this regularly on the progress of this car
Please do so I’ll look forward to it. Side note my 66 Toronado has rust in the same spot as your Continental where the sill plate and leading edge of door “post” area. I was wondering how to tackle that ???
Nice video! Are you in Maryland? I'm working on a 1967 Lincoln project myself also in Maryland. Been fun working on it. Have loved these cars since I was a 10 year old boy! I have a RU-vid channel too to document my work.
I'm 15 minutes from MD. I live in PA. I'll def have to check out your channel and watch your progress. If you're ever out towards PA give me a shout. Thanks for the comment and support

It's so awesome to bring life back into something that has been forgotten. Getting these old cars back on the road can bring a smile to anyone's face. We gotta try and keep the old steel around. Thanks for the support and I like forward to showing you more cool stuff.
I picked up a 68 Continental a few years back. Missing engine and trans. Rear brake shoes seized to the drums. I installed 460 and c6 from a 70 mark 3 that I picked up awhile ago. My car has been up and running for a couple years now. Fun to drive head turner. I have a cold start video on my channel. 460 engine came in the late build 68 Continental
Wow. I'll def have to check out the video. These cars are gems. Thank you for the comment and support. I def look forward to showing everyone the progress videos

In the 1990's I was privileged to house and be the caretaker to a fully restored 1969 Lincoln Continental. I must say to this day, it was hands down my favorite riding car I ever drove.
HECK YES. I sure wish I had something that cool in the 90s. I cannot wait to get this back on the road and get a family trip going. I'm excited to bring everyone along as this car progresses. Thanks for the support and comment. I look forward to everyone's feedback. Much appreciated

A friend of mine just bought a 1970 Mark 3 last month it is a 2 door with black on black on black car has the 460 in it ad the interior is all black leather there is a few wiring issues wrong with the car but other then that the thing runs and drives like a dream.
Sounded like there was fluid before I started it. It'll be getting a full flush in a little bit. Just wanted to make sure we had a good engine Thanks for the comment and support
You ain't lying. I'm itching to get this thing done amd 100% complete. I'm def excited to show you all the progress and get this thing as a full time driver Thanks for the support and comment. Check out the other videos on how I got it driving and moving under its own power and keep watching for updates. Thanks again
@@vintagetincustoms These older Lincolns with suicide doors were beautiful. It's to bad Cadillac only had suicide doors in 57 and 58 .The air ride destroyed them .
Your going to have low compression from it sitting a long time I usually test compression once the engine is running and it has been through a couple heat soaks to get everything working again but if you test it without getting it to run don't be upset of the low numbers.
Do you have facebook or something? I got my 1989 Crown Victoria LTD LX I will be restoring myself and would like any advice!! Mechanics here are ripping me off
Thanks brother. We are looking forward to getting it done and keeping you all updated along the way. Hopefully it makes a good car to take a family trip in. Subscribe and check out the other videos. We have alot of cool rides coming and I would love to have ideas and feedback. Thanks again
