Being as prestine as this `64 is, it should be the benchmark for restorations to be compared to. You don't get more original and correct than this. Absolutely astounding.
Unquestionably one of my favorite cars, so impressive to see such a pristine original example, and the owner seems to be a perfect custodian for such a gem.
I doubt there is a better all original 64 on this planet , that is like a having pebble beach, concourse, D’Elegance in Springfield IL , thank you Tony for bringing that into my living room TV
I had the pleasure of speaking to Tim on the phone yesterday. We had a wonderful conversation. He is such an awesome guy. I love this car and will hopefully be telling the story soon via Lincoln Addict Podcast! Cheers and thanks for sharing this!!!!
WOW! What a stunning car. I live in Australia, and I grew up with images of these sorts of cars on our TV screens. This car now must be worth a fortune! Thanks for creating and posting. DM.
Up in value? Yes, especially the convertibles, which are much rarer. And the slab design, which I think was between 61 to 64. By 65, they started getting more angular and in my opinion uglier.
I grew up wishing for a Lincoln like this with The Black Exterior and Red Leather Interior. Never did get one. This was In Mpls, Mn back in 1965 when Cars, Clothes, Shoes and Top Coats Ruled The Streets. There were some Young Boys-Men whom were Fortunate enough to have a Lincoln. I had 1962 Cadillac 4 Door Hardtop. Midnight Blue with Light Blue Leather Interior. Many Beautiful Big Cars out and on The Streets back Then. The young Crowd out to Show your Stuff and have fun your Girl with you too. No Guns No Violence No Trying to make a Name by Shooting People. Just out Rolling and all the Big Cars looking good.
What automotive glory......unbelievable....a tribute to the American auto industry. its stylists and engineers.....thank you.......... from Australia. Les Griffiths
My dad had a .65 I was 16 and drove it on dates and loved it especially the back seat it was huge and I had a lot of fun when we would go parking ah those where the days kids now a day's don't what fun was i missing the 60s
I'm an old guy and have always loved cars.. In 1962-63, I was in 5th grade, and my teacher drove to school in a Lincoln Contentinental. About all I remember of that car is that it wasn't black and didn't have red interior. I told my self that when I got old, I 'd have a car like that. Didn't happen of course and I never got a ride in it. Wish things had turned out differently.......
Look for estate sale cars. Low miles, reasonable prices. Kids have there own cars. Grandkids don't want TownCars, Marquis, etc. They haven't been made since 2010 but there are a few around. Just got another one 3 months ago.
Oh my God this car is absolutely beautiful! I had a 1966 model Lincoln Continental and I wish I had it today. The Lincoln's today, I'll pass on all of them
Back in Brooklyn i had the same 1988 Lincoln towncar. i truly loved it. Whenever i meet a girl i never needed to get a hotel room once the front seat where pushed forward the back seats was like a studio apartment 😂😂😂😂😂😂the car paid for itself
I remember the 60s and 70s when cars were ordered with options. I drive a 1998 Ford sedan and appreciate ALL the items that were standard that year. Sun roof, tilt, cruise control, AM-FM with CD, delay headlight shut off, 4 wheel disc brakes, power driver and passenger seats, deluxe console, space saver spare, tinted windows, optional larger engine, color coded sport mirrors, color coded interior, time delayed wipers, rear spoiler with 3rd brake light, alloy wheels, SARC Semi-Active Ride Control, ABS braking, power windows, sun visor lighted mirrors, power doors, power adjusted mirrors, dual exhaust, up-graded audio system, leather interior, power antenna, power release trunk, remote keyless entry with coded door locks, racing tires, OBD-II diagnostic system, puddle lights, automatic heating and air conditioning, power assisted steering and power assisted brakes, electronic fuel injection, lay down rear seats and lay flat driver's and passenger seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear window defroster and Ford's Passive Anti-Theft System. Did I mention that I love my Ford? 😀😃😄😁
Black, red, and chrome--in pristine condition--that's a sexy car. He mentioned a commercial. If he lived near Hollywood, he could probably lease it out for movies. There's an old diner in L.A. that's used for music videos, TV shows, and movies. A man inherited it from his parents. He makes more doing that than they did when it was working diner.
I never really cared much for these cars but in this case I think this is one of nicest Lincolns I have ever seen. The fact that it is original is astounding looks like a brand new car yet it is 60 years old. I would almost be afraid to drive it it's so perfect.
I once drove a 1978 Continental, spent most of its life on blocks except for a trip around the block every month. It had the oil changed regularly. 385 original miles on it ...
In mid-model year 63 the power vents, six way power seat and power antenna became standard equipment. (reference Form No. LC63-117 which was dated 12-62) that was inserted into the sales brochures. I have several of these forms. Thanks for this video. I have read about this particular car but have never seen it.
Good to know. Thank you very much for watching and commenting. I knew I'd never seen a 64 or 65 without power vents. However, I've seen a lot of 66-69 without them. I guess they decided to try and save some money and made the customer pay extra for them again. I have a lot of these power vent window motors on a shelf.
@@tonyscarcare5657 I have a few of these vent window motor/gearboxes. They always seem to work fine. The manual crank vent windows however, nearly always fail. The last tooth of the main gear breaks off when Barney Rubble rides in the car and closes the vent.
I miss the vent window. I don't like air conditioning, and the vent windows provided enough breeze to keep me cool on hot days. Wild Bill from Vintage Car History sent me over. Love from Liz and Ginger (pic left) in Australia.
In 1970, my stepfather bought my mother a used ‘64 that had 1,500 original miles on it. Similar story as in this video. Bought new and the buyer passed away shortly after… his widow didn’t drive so it sat in her garage until she passed. It was fully optioned and was gorgeous.
These stories are few and far between, but they do happen. It's really unbelievable until you see it in person. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
I had two of these at the same time. My Father bought them for me. One was a 1961 and the other was aa 1964. The 1961 was a coup with only two doors and the 64 had the backwards opening doors. The '81 had blonde interior and the 84' had black interior.
That is absolutely amazing! An Adam car, for sure. I never realized the rear windows where a different shape from 61-63, now that you mention it I can see it.
Says a lot that someone who owns a Honda Dealership preferred to own a classic Lincoln Continental. When I was a kid 8 or 9 years old growing up in San Bernardino, CA on occasion my brother and I would ride our bikes up to a commercial district near our home and wander into Gene's Gun Store to look at the pistols and rifles. He had an identical Lincoln Continental in black parked out front. I always remember being impressed with what a presence that car has when you see it.
That car is absolutely magnificent and the colour Raven black with that red interior is spectacular ... It’s magnificent now imagine what it look like to the people seeing it new
What a rare find in brand new condition . My Dad bought a used 64 in 1967 and it was in real nice condition . It was a dark blue with Blue interior . My Brother-in-law ended up with it and put a sunroof in it . Nice Cars !
