In New England you can get away with no glow plugs for a little while in the dead of summer but they turn over so much longer it isn't worth the wear and tear on the motor and starter . I'm die hard powerstroke guy but the only trucks I see consistently start well with no preheat are the cummins

@@thicok4555 marketing wise no, but it is a "feature" of a heui system. International "marketed" it as a "feature" for the T444E and VT365, which is the non powerstroke title for the 7.3l and 6.0l, for their trucks for "operators who dont know or dont check oil before starting the day"

@@thicok4555 i suppose the IH-IDI engines had that issue of people running them with no oil. Aka people who dont respect something that isnt theirs personally

@@JMRRebuilders funny you say that I do wish it was still around and was originally supposed to get it but he traded it in for his 2012 f250. That 351 was still going strong but had some issues. None that couldn't be fixed. That thing was loaded too all fancy bells and whistles if you will.

@@JMRRebuildersUnfortunately, Like you mentioned - Diesel engines are not my forte. We never really had to deal with any of the duallys where I worked at, We mostly had the 2,1/2.ton and above trucks with the Cummins & Caterpillar engines. Look at the door jamb decal and it should tell you which transmission that you have. On that truck, It should be located just below the door latching post. There’s lots of information on that little decal.

@@JMRRebuilders We did have a very few of the mid to later 2000s Ford trucks that had the newer diesel engines that you guys were discussing and they stayed in the shop more than being used. There were a lot of the square body Ford dually trucks that were used in this area for pulling horse hauling trailers. Most of those trucks had the “XLT Package” and were fully decked out. The cattle farms that had those trucks usually either had the same exact bed as the one in the video, But mostly the steel or aluminum flatbeds with the diamond plate floor.

@@JMRRebuilderseverything from the 6.9 7.3 idi 7.3 powerstroke 6.0 powerstroke and 6.4 powerstroke are all international engines. If you look at the valve cover it says international (navistar) right on it
