That guy is one of those people who thinks there smarter than every one else. I get a real elitist pseudo intellect vibe from him. Doesn't mean has a bad guy though
except that they didnt get it right though..... you are supposed to let the ice water have a very slow drip that is over a sugar cube and disolves the sugar cube slowly and drips down into the absynth. without the sugar cube, it is totally wrong.
The first time I saw those miniature mason jar shot glasses, I knew I had to have some. They weren't easy to find made from actual glass. Most were plastic or had handles or had some kind of design on them - they weren't authentic "mason jars", in my opinion. I finally found them - just what I was looking for. They're not your standard shot glass size - they hold 3 oz (twice a regulation shot). They're good for sipping late at night while I watch these awesome Moonshiners videos.
@@irinasophia88 I got one years ago in a liquor store when I bought a bottle of Jim Beam. It was attached to the neck of the bottle but the little mason jar didn't have a cap. I still have it. I bet though you can order them online.
@@orion7741 not true. Mark and Digger came up workin for Popcorn Sutton. Pictures to prove it. And if you say Popcorn was an actor or fake, then please don’t waste my time or yours responding lmfao
@@Ramzey44 I would say that they've been actors since they've been on discovery, at least. I don't doubt they may have started illegally, but I don't know how long they've been legit and licensed - not selling out as they're still skilled old school artisans in their product , but I'd say maybe playing up their outlaw roots a little for TV these days
@@AmericanRustWorker3369 it was originally a show called moonshiners that was set in the southern USA. This is a spin off competition show that some of the guys are apart of.
@@brandil5688 I live in the southern US, and…. Yeah these guys aren’t used to absinthe. You can tell they leaned on the guy in the blue button up shirt a lot.
Mena looks like she's practicing Witchcraft, fascinating to watch ! It was really great to hear Mark talk about how his attitude to Absinthe was changed..
I had a electric button when I was in Colorado at a lavender farm and Marco brewery. It's a wild experience and it's a highly recommended try if you get the chance.
Anyone ever look at the moonshiner judge w the overalls no shirt and tan fishing hat and think he looks like a chunky version of the guy who plays hawkeye in avengers 😂 idk if it's just me but that's all I see is Hawkeye in overalls 😂😂😂
He was crazy because he had a long list of possible mental health problems, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The lead poisoning didn't help either.
@@spamstabber He was a rejected child, but in the end , he was follow his dream. He saw the world differently, and his brother reconized it. And absinth was't any good for him. Its in the way they brew it back then.
I have been making absinthe for over 20 years.. It is not just about colour. The taste is fickle as hell, because you are using super-strong tasting herbs, the trick being to make them cancel each other out. Anise is important for dampening the taste of wormwood, which is supposed to be abundant. Coriander, fennel and isop all gives the distinct taste profile. The concoction they are using here would not fly as absinthe in my book. You need to make actual tictures, not just dip the herbs
@@alexmcdowell8868 Wormwood alas has no real psychoactive effects, but can be somewhat stimulating. The big effect was from the much higher alcohol content (70%) Personally I have made versions containing cannabis, mushrooms and even opium. Those absinths did work very much psychoactive.
@@jomorkenstrseth3526 I'd love to get my hands on some mushroom absinthe!!! Man, you got my mouth watering. I can't find it anywhere that regular moonshine can be had. I'm from Tennessee so I've got good quality shine, no absinthe I'm afraid.
@@jomorkenstrseth3526 Wormwood oil does affect the brain a lot - not just how you feel but also causes interesting visual effects not full blown hallucinations tho. That's just from the legal absinthe I drink now and then so I imagine the effects will be even stronger if you drink a traditional recipe.
You can tell who was going to win as soon as the guy said "dill" and "no heat" for coloring (even though I haven't seen the front end of the episode). She experimented in an organized manner on the fly with a good blanche absinthe base, he tried to get weird with a faulty base and failed. Don't be a hero and color outside of the lines with traditional absinthe recipes. At least not too far IMHO.
I live next to the County where Absinth comes from .. Val de Travers.. The Original Stuff from over there.. Will curl yr Nails and all the World around you....🥳🙋♂️
I been thinking about the four course meal run, still pot's three divided all be, carrot's shread thinly and yorkshire's in one, corn and potato with hanging chicken or turkey in another, and the last pot, gravy and sprout's? Or grit's. Three but siix in to one, the thank given.
Imagine being an actual moonshiner, one of the last of a dying breed. You see your teacher, Popcorn, take himself because of the law... like that's how closely removed these guys are from actual illegal shining. They're teacher took his own life because he wasn't going to jail. Few years later... "TONIGHT on Master Distiller... Digger and Mark make booze again!"
I had the real deal, it will cause hallucination. That bottle was not cheap but it was not my favorite, especially since I was young and stupid when I had it so I drank to get drunk lol 😂 Luckily I had 2 females to take great care of me. Thank you ladies and I’m sorry for the bad times 😂❤👍🤫🥰😜
And the pot cover circle at the top and split it in two with heat resistance velcro if it exsist, and velcro it back together around your pipe's and cover for pipe same system.
I would let both taste the difference and give him or her a idea of how they messed up and to say it they didn't make the cut to make there own mind up then announce the judges decision.
And as you cook your mix, each time unique so does the still almost have life as the flavour's build and mix and then in that moment the still decide's how much you get.
Sum bitch that’s a great name feller!! Hell you shoulda named the damn show lol. I reckon they could have some issues with forged in fire tho, not sure how copyrights and all that works when it comes to tv show names and what not
If it were me making a still, i'd get a sheet of copper little thicker than you usually use then a press shop and press out half a butternut squash shape to the size cutout and weilded together then you want to cut out hole's needed. But i do like the heating going through the middle.
@Dirt Murphy Copper can be welded via several methods. Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW).
The goofball in the funny outfit literally could not stop lookin at his female competitor lmfao spent more time checkin her out than he did on his drink 😂 she was over there beatin the ever livin shit out of some herbs, he was just chillin cuttin looks at her. I mean I don’t blame him, hell I thought he was a gay when I first seen him but she’s for sure a looker 🤙🏼👌🏼😂😂
So if try to make the thank's given, and you do half your pot 's cook/heat in the middle with the burner slot's on the side of the pipe, to heat sideward's
And for god's sake, slice your potato like crisp not chunky the principal is the same as the oak chip's method, the more service area of the potato the higher the volume.
