100% correct Simon. Let me give you 4 examples for your Filipino viewers. And these are examples from family members and neighbors. 1....i think this is the best example......we have some young family members who work on cruise ships. This means they work on their ships for 9 months and then have 3 months off. Advantages.....they get to see the world, they have a very good salary, around 2500 Euros per month, roughly 160,000php which is very good. Disadvantage is that they away from their family for 9 months at a time which compared to other OFWs is actually no too bad. So these family members can save a lot of money. 2.....family members that have worked in Japan or Thailand as cooks in large hotels for years without seeing their family. They returned home 2 years later to what you could say was nothing. The money that they had sent home was spent, all gone. 3......I have a few neighbors that work on container ships. Again, they work 9-10 months on their ship and then have a break of 2 or 3 months before they return to their ship again. They are away the whole time from their wife and children and from what i can see they have nothing to show for it. All the money is spent on food for the rest of the family and for the children's education. 4.....A woman in our family worked in Dubai as a domestic helper for 4 years !!!! she has 2 children so did not see them for 4 whole years. She was sending money back to the Philippines every month. Guess how many peso was saved in the 4 years for when she returned? ZERO, NOTHING !!!! All the money was spent on motorcycles, food and alcohol. That must be devastating for a mother.

They are hopeless. Nothing will change until those who are prepared to work stop supporting their families.

Simon I believe now the attraction of having therefore a foreign er and his pension as income for the family has become the driving force for more and more Filipina to foreigner marriages🤔🤗♥️

Yes John, I agree with you ..... it's the unwritten rule in many families ..... but one that has proven to work well for so many people and families that live here.

Working abroad (Dubai)is good because accommodation is free and salary is tax-free. The company provides return airfare ticket free, one in every two years and a month's salary. So one can really save.

i think in the near future there would be plenty of new jobs since US and PH have now signed Nuclear Energy to address Energy issues in the country. EU countries also are interested in renewable energy. This in turn would attract manufacturing companies. other form of investment happening now are the infrastructures.

Yes, that is my point. The deal between the USA and Philippines signed in 2023 on the Nuclear Energy plan you refer to in the Philippines ....will bring great benefit to the country and with it jobs, opportunities and more investment. This is what young minds need to focus on here in the Philippines. Thanks for your comments.

@@britandpinoys8472 japan also is laying out subsea cable to improve the internet connection the Visayas and Mindanao region. Also there will be an increase in the number of processing plants of iron ores which will start the manufacturing of EV batteries and other steel materials necessary for building construction and army equipment somewhat similar to what the Indonesia is doing.

What a frech air ! You come to talk about something else than girls anf food . I do agree with what you explain. When i started working in the Far East 45 years ago, one very thing surprised me : the map of the world was presented in a different way. The center of the word was the Pacific Ocean, the USA presenrted far east of the pacific and Europe was far west. I had the stong feeling that was the future of our economic world and here we are. Not a surprise to me. Keep on openning the eyes of your viewers.

i agree if you were to migrate in the 70s or 80s, you move to the west. but now i think the movement had reversed, you got white people are now moving to the east - working in Singapore, Korea, China. The Philippines has tremendous potential too

I worked as a Tacher in Taiwan for 5 years. I met many Philipinos that were working in many factories and Homes there. One guy was a Mechanical Engineer and it turned out that he was working 40-50 hours per week and was making less than i did working 20Hrs. per week. Many Filipina's working as Domestic workers don't get much time off from work, so they can't spend their money on themselves. When they do get ome time off, they usually meet with other OFW's and just spend time chatting and eating their food. Now adays, Filipina's are in demand as nurses and teachers in underserved areas of the USA. Now things are getting better and wages are rising for those with a good education here in the Philippines.

The problem I see in the Philippines is when they have some money , it’s spent. It goes on drink or food or the never ending fiestas. When a family member gets sick they never have any money saved. They then go on social media begging for help. A family member has a sari sari store- she has a fridge and sells cold drinks. When the fridge stops working i doubt they will have saved anything to replace or repair it. It’s the same for everything in their lives. They need a change in their education.

That's not entirely accurate first of all it's stereotypical of you to be judgemental. It's as if you think you're better than them, which you're not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but being a príck about it only makes you look like a d0ucebag. Know the law you have at least 6 violations of the rpc here. Your mouth will get you into something your ass can't get you out of.
