Amazing insights here. Thanks Autogefuhl and all the guys from Mercedes who you spoke to! They're really thinking years and years ahead. I for one just wish electric could achieve the range of a diesel vehicle at the price of a diesel vehicle and time to fill. I can't see me or any of my friends or family owning an electric vehicle now. Maybe it works for some in the US and Europe but it doesn't work for the majority.

I would love that the infotainment of the car give information about the area you are in on a vacation. Nice concept and I would like to see things going into their real cars. But they have some issues to take care with the EQC.

breathing car is very old fashioned. Non breathing cars are much more powerfull and much more fun to drive. Instant brutal power is much better than making noise and less power. You might believe it or not, internal combustion cars are just outdated.

@@adamike9990 Internal combustion cars are for sure not eko. How can it be,m if you firing the whole lifetime of the car, mineral oil. Also you need a lot of seldom earth for example catalyst and spark plugs. Those are blown via exhaust in the environment. Electric care are a compete closed system. Nothing will go to the environment. An electric motor is so easy to produce, not with thousands of parts. Just simple.... The battery pack is a closed system, nothing of the lithium will get lost. After the battery is weak of the car is broken, the battery can be recycled to almost 95% to make new battery's. Nothing will be wasted. And believe me, it's so much fun to drive. I am driving about 50.00 km per year, with my 100% fully electric car.

@@eDriver Yea you tell true. But you forget that making and recycling battery made lot of pollution and extracting litium from land is much more polluting than pumping oil + more weight = more energy you need to move object so every kilo added is bad and batteries are heavy wich wont help it any more. I like electric machines but i have problem with batteries before we will be able to made some kind of super battery it is better to keep using internal combustion cars. I know driving electric cars is fun + i race electric RC cars 15 years now but thanks to experience with it and electric profession i know it is too early for electric cars... Not speaking aboat electric trains and every electric machine that dont need battery they are best what have now.

@@adamike9990 Yes, everything needs energy. Producing battery needs energy, recycling battery needs energy. Energy needed from well to tank of your car is about 15 kWh per liter Diesel/Gasoline. With 15 kWh I can easily drive 100 km when driving not like a racing car. Oh an you forgot one huge factor. The environment pollution when digging fro oil. Sustainability and animal-free products are crucial, but we should also try to manage the demand for vehicles and goods in general. I recently got a car with a lease deal that I wouldn't have been able to afford if I had to buy it. Deals like that are nice, but I do not believe we need so many products. I only bought one TV in my whole life but I already had 5 or 6 computers. If we decrease the demand by 50% we are looking at sustainability from a different perspective.

I'm not psychologically prepared for such cars. Already in a Tesla I feel like not being safe, this one seems to have even less in structure. As long as the streets are packed with pickups and large heavy cars... this is not for me. It's great looking but.... it's very low, not good for older people, I fear that with all the patholes on the streets it would have short life...and I don't want to know how much it would cost to change a tire!

Mercedes should rather focus on making electric cars they can sell now and not on some concepts that are never going to be produced. If Mercedes doesn't change quickly they will be crushed by EV competition.

My guess is, that in some years, Mercedes and all other car manufactures are dead. Because Tesla is already a huge electric car manufactureer and the Chinese build up several new can manufacturing company. China can make great quality cars with German engineers, but for a very very low price. I know already a lot of German engineers working in newly build Chinese car companies.

Lol. Both of you are wrong. Tesla cannot offer the quality that brands as Mercedes offer. They are car makers, Tesla... is not. Tesla is also in financial trouble. Mercedes has already stopped development of regular engines. Of all vehicles produced, only a fraction is EV. Saying that they need to change now, or else... sigh. Companies like Mercedes invested millions in to their current line up, so only in like 5 year we will start seeing more EV’s. And the majority will still be internal combustion engines. The only competition Mercedes has is from their German counterparts, Audi, BMW and similar. Germany is not going to let one of the biggest automakers go down.. wake up people.

They don't just have 2 people working on a vehicle. They have thousands of engineers. Just because they're showing their ideas for a sustainable future which is GOOD, doesn't mean they don't have other people working on electric. You heard their battery engineer. Or maybe you just ignored it. Such bigotry from you and short sightedness. A new car isn't developed in a few months. It takes years. And this serves as a platform for ideas and testing for the future. You claimed ev enthusiasts purport to care about the environment then go on to bash these kinds of vehicles. Get out.

@@SDav21 I am not a Tesla Fanboy, certainly not... Actually I don't really like Tesla, but I see the facts. Right now, Tesla is number one in sales of electric powered cars... I wish that Mercedes will be successful, because I am born in Stuttgart, the headquarter of Mercedes and I am living just near. But all old car manufacturers trying to sell internal combustion engine cars, as long as possible, because that's where they earning big money.

*Boring concept cars never coming to the road.* But Mercedes can't deliver real electric cars for the roads. I hope they will net bankrupt, because of Tesla and the new Chinese car industries. China can manufacture good quality and great cars, for a much lower price. They are not dump. With plans and announcements, Mercedes will not make business. They need to deliver, not announcing!
