Yes for less money. I get the reason it’s more cash is because of the risk, but it doesn’t have to (badly) incentivized, it doesn’t have to be excluded from bad sport behavior (blowing up cars isn’t even harming the player directly nor their money) it’s insane. Don’t be an apologist without good damn reason.
Rockstar banning griefing would be ok if they also didn’t pop up a message saying someone is delivering cargo in the lobby and making pedestrian npc drivers run purposefully into you whenever your doing a car cargo sell mission.
yes its flawed rules from the start some random person that does not even have a ceo or mc yet doesn't need to be notified where an org is on the map or if they're sourcing or selling, what would make more sense at least is only broadcast to active orgs on the same source or sell missions and allow them to try to steal it for themself, now you have incentive to not blow it up at least and possibly the hope of being able to steal it back making the high demand bonus make more sense
Even funnier is the fact NPCs can send you messages where they swear (like a bounty text if you steal their car) but you can't do the same. It makes ZERO sense.
@@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 Take-Two raised their ESG score so high by DEI'ing Rockstar and breaking up the 'boys club' (aka the guys who have been with the series since the start and made it good). That's why they don't want to come into the office anymore and think all overtime is a crime.
If Rockstar didn't broadcast to the entire lobby when you're selling cargo and give players the ability to see where you are at all times griefing wouldn't be as bad as it is😂
This mightve been valid literally 6-8 years ago, but since then the game's pvp has been an unbalanced mess where they give griefers tools. Maybe its gta 6 prep but this shit is pretty hypocritical, especially when the orbital cannon exists
Yeah the game is built to breed toxic players. And it might be prep for GTA6 but you already know their going to give in to the loser wannabes that are going to be wanting their over powered, unbalanced crap back because they are Take2's and R*'s main source of income.. the real question is, how long will it take until the do give in and start corrupting GTA6 whit crap too?..
@@masmelly6384 Join a game of GTAO and try to start an event that pops up in the top left corner to every loser in the entire lobby and snitches out your exact location to everyone on the map and see how much honor there is in your average GTAO lobby
If you want to protect privacy, don’t play on PC. You’ll get booted offline, have your game crashed and not be able to log on for two weeks. GTA online is unplayable on PC.
I don’t buy it personally. They added the orbital cannon, along with all of these futuristic and weaponized vehicles. And on top of that, they literally ping your cargo on the map telling people to blow it up. So this post contradicts their game. Not to mention all of the times people abused God Mode glitches and didn’t get banned.
@@TheAnthonyMarloweYes I can. Destroying someone’s hours of hard work is griefing. You wouldn’t like it if it were done to you, so stop trying to make it seem like it’s ok to do.
I think destroying someone else’s cargo is not bad per se in a game like gta, to me the bad part is that the cargo owner realistically cannot defend himself while delievering cargo in a 15 mph van against flying things with missiles. It would be much more fun to defend your cargo against ppl trying to steal or destroy your cargo using “common” weapons
i think it should only be stealing cargo and selling it for almost the original value (not the full amount because you have to organise a quick buyer) since it doesn't make sense for criminals to destroy other criminals product when they could sell it
Rockstar themselves taught players to do that in the first place by telling other players where you are on the map you're moving heist prep equipment cargo supplies etc and to blow it up for cash and rp, not telling them even the tiny bit of money they'll get for their trouble. Rockstar themselves engrained this behavior in players early on, teaching new players it's okay to do this 😄
I stick to invite only sessions anyway. Can do most of the missions I want too and don't have to deal with literal children who shouldn't be playing the game in the first place being annoying idiots
@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 Lil bro's apparently been spamming Professional's comment sections a lot lately just to be an annoying lil rat for some reason. Guess kid isn't getting attention at home :B
This will 100% not stop griefing especially on pc version where modders run rampant with anti report mod menus. The double standards of Rockstar is questionable at best
I remember when I was with my friend at his house, at his liveroom, we were playing GTA V in PS3, was a guy cursing a kid... To us was kinda funny, because the guy was so upset for something so unnecessary, but then we realised that kid was getting sad. Was one of the moments that we discover that public sessions are bad basically.
@@ziploc2000 yeah you are right. But tell this to their parents. Especially nowadays, they don't give a damn. Instead they will give you a tablet. But who am I? When I was 7 I wanted to play Gta San Andreas... But was single player.

The real grief problem is the blip system. Having a gps that pinpoints other players locations makes freemode un enjoyable. You should have to call lester or imani to expose blips, and keep the gps in the pause menu and vehicles.Red dead had the proximity blip system which felt like a step in the right direction .
They will not ban people for cargo griefing. The game literally says destroy cargo to get cash and RP. Now I'm not saying people should do it because of that but they can't tell you that then also ban you for it as well.
just some thought from my side: "by using the game in unintended ways" seems like griefing in the case of the community guidelines doesn't include cargo-griefing because this would be an intended way of griefing (the game tells you that you can destroy cargo of other players to get some money)
That's exactly what I've been telling people. Rockstar's definition of griefing doesn't count cargo griefing. When Rockstar mentions "griefing", they mean stuff like using exploits, cheating, stream-sniping, trolling, etc. So, this new community guideline thing will have absolutely zero effect on people who destroy cargo. Because at least from Rockstar's POV, destroying cargo is not griefing. That's just playing the game the way it was designed.
@@NoahCanFBThey tell the whole lobby that you’re selling cargo and they ping it on the map. And they added all of these futuristic and weaponized vehicles to the game. Yes they do encourage griefing. While you may not be forced to do it, they still encourage you to do it.
I know a criminal that has a code of honour and respect towards others, Captain Cold from the Flash series on Stan, in the first episode we see him in when he goes to steel a very valuable diamond from the central city museum when he is scoping it out he goes through the tour of it 2 times, and the time he goes on it that we see he offers a kid some gum, the gum was not poisoned or anything just regular gum, and then when the tour guide said “don’t get to close or else you’ll trigger the proximity sensors” and then Captain Cold “Lenard Snart” (I do not know if I spelt the last name correctly or not is someone does know it’s actually spelt please correct me) says to the kid “well now you wouldn’t want to do that” tue kid just nods if I am remembering correctly, then on the night that he goes to steel it with the cold gun one of the museum guards points his gun at Lenard and then Lenard says “unless you wanna end up like that door you should leave” or something like that, basically telling the guard unless the guard wants to die the guard should leave. Lenard prefers not to kill unless given no other choice, and deep down he is a nice person
Usually I try to trick them into messaging me on the PlayStation, then report their PlayStation directly to Sony. Some people on Xbox I heard do the same thing. Because best way to get rid of those people is to get their console band or account ban instead of just one game. Get all that they earned from every game they played just deleted from a permanent ban.
As an African American man who plays with a lot of other African American guys, the n word gets thrown around a lot. Not because we're upset at each other or yelling at anyone, but because it becomes part of the lingo. Will I then get banned because of that? If so, how is that not a form of discrimination
@@CJGAMEZ38 I personally don't use the word myself, even though I'm black. But a couple of my friends do. And while I don't agree with them using it, we shouldn't be punishing people for speaking in a way that is well integrated within their culture whether we like it or not. It doesn't carry the same weight as somebody using it for nefarious purposes. And since it's going to be difficult for any AI model to detect that, I think we should just allow freedom of speech. So what if somebody's racist, mute them
@@ERTChimpanzee I agree no one should use it but what I will say to u as a white man, because u know what where it came from you shouldn’t be using that word unless you are a racist , and if your not a racist use different words.
Exactly. If they want to prove us wrong- *Permanently Disable the Notifications for Cargo, Supply and Sell Runs.* That would be a step in the right direction…
People can make their own invite only servers now. No need for these rules. And the protection of streamers essentially makes them a “protected class” of people in game. That is favoritism and it is wrong.
I think this will back fire and get weaponized to the opposite of what its supposed to do. If softstar will do what they say here, what if someone or a group of people can spam reports on someone they to disappear and get their entire gta account reset/banned?
Technically it’s not griefing because it’s encouraged and you get a higher payout for doing it in a full lobby. You’ll get an extra million sometimes. 30% more on full lobbies. High risk higher reward. But it ain’t so bad, just switch lobbies and you’ll be fine. Also mc businesses have the worst sell missions of all time
Can someone define ‘griefing’ because I get accused of griefing, if I steal someone’s vehicle cargo for myself when the game prompts me to. The same goes for destroying cargo or product. I don’t do it all the time but every now and then it is worth it. The game prompts me to do it for cash and RP but then I’ll get hunted down as revenge and then spawn camped for as long as I stay in the lobby. If I stay in the lobby, even hours I’ve had people constantly killing me over and over and over. I’ve also had it when I get my own cargo or product destroyed and I’ll just take the hit and try to carry on with my day but again get spawn camped for hours. It’s not fun at all and is a weird way to play the game. But my question is: what is the definition of ‘griefing’?
One thing the d-dossers (see what i did there?) Dont take into consideration when they do it, is that person whos internet theyre attacking could well belong to the guys parent who makes a living online (like if they work from home especially through covid etc) they are potentially messing with people's livelihoods and they arent fussed
It's worth mentioning that Report Blocking is a feature in many mod menus, so the only way to *more* reliably report someone is to record a video and use a Rockstar Support ticket and *maybe* they will do something.
Yep. Regardless though I’m still gonna stay in PGAM lobbies unless Ghillie is in pubs during streams. I’ll be honest that I used to go in pubs a ton years ago to do 1v1’s against toxic players. But now I mostly like avoiding it altogether lol.
Might make it slightly more toxic. Say for example you're a griefer and you're looking to ruin someones day, now all you gotta do is provoke them into killing you more than once and report them for griefing. That's one of the ways I see the system getting abused and if this happens to be the case then Rockstar needs to implement punishment for false reports.
If it’s not just some PR stunt then this could be bad for us grinders and anti greifers that could get falsely reported by greifers. Rockstar doesn’t usually handle these things well tbh
The report feature doesn't work at all on PC because the cheaters/griefer can just block your reports and even overload your CPU and make your game crash as well as block you from rejoining gta online for as long as they want.
The racism in GTA V is wild 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 lm black(l just laughl don’t take it to heart) lm pretty sure Yall know how it goes lol Oh boy Pretty sure some of the people in the comment section are guilty of this
Attacking other people's cargo using the game intended ways such as using jets, Oppressor mk2, Kosatka missile and even orbital cannon (as long as no glitch is used) is NOT griefing. When you sell cargo in populated sessions, you accept the responsibility of defending your cargo and accept the risk of it getting attacked by other players. It's common sense. Don't want your cargo to get attacked by players? Then sell in private lobbies, it's as simple as that. GTA Online is not Truck Simulator, it is a game about being criminals. However, the in-game report feature is useless especially in PC because mod menus have a feature which blocks in-game reports.
I’ve seen griefing go up since this, from destroying other players selling vehicles, to constantly spawn killing them. I have seen the same group of players do the same thing for a week now and they still seem to run wild enjoying inflicting pain on others.

My question is why is this being a thing now a decade later? I remember a while ago gtao was being used by cartel members to try to recruit young and naive players to join them. What did rockstar do? Nothing. Even made it in the news. Hell even ned luke the guy who voices Michael got the police at his door when he was minding his own business streaming. Again why is this a thing now? Did any of the higher ups kids get bullied when playing? (Even tho kids shouldn’t be playing these games)
I stopped playing GTA 5 online a year ago after some racist scumbag DDOSED my account and wiped out my entire gaming history. These guidelines aren't going to do anything...
That's not how DDOSing works, if you can't play online because he's DDOSing you, in which case anything on your internet will not be working, you won't lose anything, you simply need to use a new internet connection or request a new ip from your internet provider. A good way to protect yourself from DDOSing is to play with a vpn activated, Windscribe is a good free one.
I played GTA v online from November of the year it came out up until a few years ago. Eventually I realized that it is literally just the same shit over and over and over again and the devs don't give a shit. I can't blame them though, it's over a decade old. At this point it's just boomers still trying to milk it until GT6 comes out and then GT6 will fall into the same process.
Attacking another player when they are doing a sell mission is definitely a form of griefing. All you receive for destroying another player’s product is some RP and $2000.
@@NewKasutowho's fault is that? The player for playing the game as intended with a homing rocket? Or the devs for implementing cargo missions in an open lobby? Think
the best way to stop griefing would be to actually use the good sport bad sport system make it so that players only ever play with similar good sport ratings put all the griefers in a chaotic griefer lobby and all of the chill players in peaceful lobbies this gives players freedom whilst still giving players the experience they deserve oh yeah and have a working anti cheat and ban system especially on pc
Idea for the cargo griefing: If your product gets destroyed you will not lose all of your product but 7-30%. Once a transport vehicle is destroyed, you'll get the option to cancel the sale mission (unless you get the one with the single delivery truck). Your loss will be according to the amount of vehicles destroyed, so 1 vehicle = 7.5% loss, 2 v. 15% and so on...
Bro, without knowing anything about this update my guess is they are going to make it ban people for getting revenge more then greifing which defeats the purpose of even having these rules to begin with, would be better atp to not have anti greifing rules. Just a guess tho, who knows
Griefing is annoying players for no reason or award but when destroying rival player shipment u get money even it was 2k and for orbital cannon it can be used for pvp not griefing and u spend 500k/700k to kill player
This shit better not happen to me because people always mess with me when I'm minding my business, cus after that i'll go & get some get back so rockstar betta not play.
I would take some of these changes more seriously had Rockstar implemented some of those measures years ago. GTA Online has been around for close to 10.5 years that is plenty of time to find solutions for GTA Online’s biggest problems. Rarely anything is done to God Mode Abusers from Rockstar itself. There are people that stream themselves going into a Public Lobby in God Mode and they will grief the whole lobby.
i’m glad when i was a young teen we dint have this in gta 4 and tbogt online, it made it more fun but hey makes me glad i became anti social 6 years ago so i kind of does not effect me besides the griefing thing, i can imagine if someone kills me for no reason and i spawn kill them i imagine i’d get in trouble because they record me spawn trapping them with the carcano sniper, what a weird era of gaming.
They should stop cheaters(so called "modders") before trying to police the chat. I'd rather get some toxic messages that i can ignore instead of someone manipulating my session with scripts.
I agree with banning toxic people, but imo cargo griefing should remain legit. Without griefers, selling stuff public would be so damn boring. Its part of the game.
I was spam reporting people before this change and ppl would quit after maybe 10 reports but hopefully this will save me time and they quit the session after 1 report
I think Rockstar just made things worse, rules and regulations always weigh on those who did nothing wrong, it is suffocation for everyone involved. I think Rockstar should focus on making single player games again, or make an online game built around coop like Destiny 2 instead of an online game that purposefully pitting players against each other.
A spammer and a hacker are not alike, most mod menus have report protection, so those you should report out of the game, spammers you should report throught the in game menu.

In RDO they did competetive play in business really well. If you sell trade wagon on long distance, other players can steal that shipment and then sell it as their own in their next sale, basically get full resupply in one raid. Why go around hunting wildlife entire hour when you can hijack random players wagon and then make quick money yourself. Its also one of few good pvp methods where you are insisted to get some protection from other players, who in return gain reward as well.
I have a genius idea how to stop griefing in GTA Online: If a player kills other player that didn't killed him before and didn't dealt any damage do him, the player gets permanently banned! And griefers will dissapear forever!
How are people supposed to fight each other? People still need to be able to have PVP. If someone and I agree to have a fight in free roam, and I happen to kill him first without him damaging me, I should get permanently banned? The hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on this game wasted.
