Ezra seems to know quite a bit about the ATC's for his age. I can remember when these things were in showrooms when I was a kid. Currently, I have 5 Honda ATCs including 2 fully suspended 1983 185s. One with a Pk suspension kit and the other with a Hi Performance ATC kit.

The thing you're fighting with that requires the custom tool is also a centrifugal oil filter Most people didn't knew it exist and got low oil pressure or even burn bearings because of it gunking up

Hey Kevin, I’m 63 years old and I still have a 1985 Honda Big Red 250 ES and it’s the shaft drive with a reverse! I bought it new in 1985 for 1,900 hundred dollars and a couple years ago I just put new tires and brakes on it, it’s a Honda and it’s still running brother! I still use it around my house to pull stuff around and I built a 4X4 trailer for it! I’m usually loading it with leaves and branches good for working in the yard! I don’t hunt anymore but I’ve hauled all of my gear and a 180lb buck out of the woods with it and no problem with power! It’s a workhorse, when I was younger I’d take it to a gravel and sand pit and we would climb those walls that were probably 70-80 degrees and 100 feet high and I was riding my wife too! No strain at all! My buddy had a Yamaha Tri-Z, 250 with a chain of sprocket and no reverse! I could out pull him and keep up with him but I couldn’t pass him! It was fun but I’m too old for that speed now so now I ride my Harley Davidson Heritage soft tail classic, just cruising!

Safety tip. Got real lucky with that mini shop vac and extracting gasoline. The fuel vapor entering the vac motor pass the electric motor brushes Spark and we have lift off.😂 Most any of those motors aren't brushless. So use caution doing that with any rich more explosive gasolina ⛽️

That brings back memories !!! Bought one new in 1983 for $1395.00. You could not hurt this thing. Even could start under water aslong as the air intake up at the neck was out of water. Could even start by hand under water just getting to compression stroke and thump it by hand. Never even had to choke it in cold 15 degree weather. Good memeories!!!

I have an 83 200x as well, they are a blast to ride! There is actually supposed to be oil in the stator area, no issues there. You can make a little more power by swapping in the xr200 cam, carb and piston. DG is about the only company still making a pipe for the 200x but a crf230 pipe can be fitted with a few mods.

You might be able to save a bit of money on them plastics. Use a soldering iron to weld it back together from the inside. Don't do it on the outside because it doesn't look very pretty lol. I'm working on a zero turn that previously had a tree fall on it, and the plastics were destroyed. I found out that you can also melt in a metal screen strip from like a screen door or some staples laid on their side for extra reinforcement. Thanks for another great video, can't wait for the next one.

Friendships are strong until they aren't. Ezra deserves a "Talent" check (Like a radio station pays a DJ for a special project). He made this episode a totally awesome show. If the viewer time supports that...please consider a check$$ with a thanks beyond brotherly mid-west love. He will say he was happy to be part of a good time but...years from now circumstances may change and a rift could form between you two as you having earned so much money from RU-vid. I encourage you to have the conversation early of how the future is uncertain and reach an agreement that royalties can not be due years later. I have lost friends and business partners(even a wife) because of the difference in our recollection of what was then a mutually a great time. I HATE lawyers and Ezra is too awesome! I am truly envious of your great times and consider myself lucky to just watch.

You should tell him to get his own channel and show all his Minnesota shenanigans and stuff he’s working on. I’d definitely watch it, and Im sure others would as well. And that pickle jar trick was nice, thats definitely going into my trick list for the next time I come across a terrible gas tank with old gas.

Man, I would have loved to have this video when 15 yr old me replaced the clutch on my 1985 200X. Loved the history lesson. It was my first bike and I had never ridden any else so leaning over the inside tire laying in to the throttle was all I knew how to do. Which really threw me for a loop the first time I rode a dirtbike and immediately laid it over on the first turn.

Quick tip, your trick to "save the timing position" will only work if the crank never moves. At least on any modern ATV engine I've worked on. Get enough slack in the chain and allow the crank to turn, boom timing is off. If I'm just replacing a cam, or decompression mechanism or whatever, I do what Ezra is showing, except I use bailing wire through the hole in the cam gear, and wrap it snug around the handlebars so that the chain physically can not jump any teeth on the bottom cam chain gear.
