Will Throne & Liberty FLOP? 

This was pretty refreshing compared to all the hate-farming videos out there from people who never even reached end-game.

95% of people hating on TL are legit people who watched Asmongold play until level 10 and completely write off every aspect of the game (there is a clip of it) I've seen many people parrot his exact words rather than trying it themselves (it's literally FREE). Nobody hates MMORPG's more than MMORPG players. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

I hate the 'but you can get the premium currency as f2p player ' argument. Someone still has to buy it from ncsoft first. If nobody swipes for gear you can't even use the auction house. You should applaud everyone that has less time to play but some disposable income to fund your f2p gameplay. Keep it real.

Ive played many mmos, including bdo now, and i dont see anything that bad with TnL combat. Sure bdos "combat" is one of the best but its completely wasted ... atleast nowadays. And yes, TnL combat is better than some people make it out to be. I can tell a big majority of those people havent been keeping up with anything about the game and/or are watching creators who basically hate every mmo that isnt their childhood favorite AND havent been keeping up with the game as well. PvP is very fun here if you just give it a chance. Drama will be had and those old school guild fights are 100% possible and real. Based vid i must say! Your concerns and dislikes are very much valid. I want the game to succeed and i feel it will. A multiplatform global mmo always has a good potential to be a success. More works needs to be done and i cant wait to see how they go about it.

They added fishing and cooking, so I’m happy with that addition. I don’t know why but I’ve always enjoyed fishing and games, especially MMO for some reason how beneficial not sure but I’ve enjoyed it.

Now we know: It has flopped! You can have some weeks of fun for sure with TL (I play it for myself) but before Christmas it will be dead!

pvp event ( not guild event) => you get assigned to a grp randomly. If people stick to the 4 guilds alliance, drama should not be a thing... But if half the server make unofficial alliance using the enemi guild tag yeah drama will be a thing...

any hate/bad review about TL is coming from people who have either not played the game at all or not played a game long enough to even experience end game PVE and PVP.

the combat has improved tremendously since beta. The game feels damn nice, highly recommend, there's a lot of potential and we need the US chiming in for those suggested changes and once that hits we got a great fuckin game on our hands.

I'm playing both BDO (6yrs) and TL Korea (2months). Both are fun! I switch them around once I get bored of the other one. 😀

Nah dude to be competitive state on gear you do need to grind eight hours a day. Also someone can definitely P2W and whipe your team out if your full f2p. At least for the first three months

Would love to add a few points! From last time you played Beta the combat has changed drasticalluly. Life skilling is slowly being implemented with Fishing and cooking already in the game confirmed for our launch. PVE has been updated WOW style Mythic Challenge dungeons have been added with a global rankings Raids is coming very soon in Korea. A new constant Open world PVP zoned is confirmed for October release. Arena 3v3 was added and confirmed for Amazon Launch With more modes and battlegrounds coming soon. BDO is in league if its own, because of combat. If anything TL competes with WOW and FF14

i think it will do great but it will drop off like 99% of MMORPGs but the thing is you don't need 1mil players for this game to survive. Vast majority of the content is GvG which is 70v70. sieges are every other weekend when there is 2000+ there. You don't need 1mil players to do a 2000+ player siege

I think it will get a small percentage of loyal players who enjoy hardcore PvP , I think it’s not what many ppl are expecting as well. I have seen so many people who PvE expecting it to blow them away and nope. It lacks very much in PvE , it also is not open world PvP it’s instances. I think bots are a major problem as well. I think it will get a small group of PvPers who enjoy the large scale PvP but outside of that I don’t think it will be what many are expecting it to be.

One very important thing to keep in mind is that the game can change any time after its release. There have been many games that were okay when they released but very quickly changed to crazy p2w or changed some in game systems which gave p2w player more advantage. So anyway maybe during the first year we can see if the game has hope. If they don't make such drastic changes so soon, then there is hope that the game can survive and stay around for a long time

I didn’t expect to have as much fun as I did and tbh I was kinda blown away with the last global beta. Had no idea what it was before I saw it on the PS Store. I haven’t played too many mmo’s but I was interested in a beta test. Honestly haven’t had that much fun on a game in a while, between main quests, gear leveling, and world events, there was always something to do. And then I joined a guild😂 now I’ve committed to the Early Access with 280 somethin other people and they all seem to have high hopes for this one

Really trying to go in with a clear mind and give it a chance, it's unlikely they'll be aggressive in monetization right away, that would be stupid, right? right? My biggest concern at the beginning is the bots. And if it's going to be a game to play for the long term or a hobby until the release of PoE2

its a Hype, and how many players want a decent MMORPG. Problem with MMORPGs, everyone making "FAST" Leveling. That a problem. MMORPG should be a marathon not a Speed Race. People trying to grind in 24 hours to max level, should be penalized. Go Play MMO. MMORPG should have No Respect for anyone's time. End game grinding should be like 1 week per level. Heck last 10 levels should be like 1 month per level. Dungeons should be Challenges, with unique loot/rewards/cosmetics. No "HARD" Versions of same Dungeons. Dungeons themselves have no limit how many can go inside, but boss rooms, limited to how many players can fight it. On top of it, dungeons can be flagged randomly for PVP. Which result in higher chancer for higher quality loot drop. Their also should be hidden, and secret dungeons. or dens and lairs.... that are mini dungeons, with randomized layout, with 1 week cool downs. (Go back to it, different layout/different bosses) Loot, needs to have a range. Like how good piece of drop can be have different tiers of it in itself. Focus should be not on PVP. Focus should be on ENDLESS End Game. Meaning Always something new to explore, strive for. No Dailies, No End Game Dungeons (But Challenges). Hidden Loot, Hidden Unique Materials, and ways to upgrade your gear. Make the game focus on Treasure Hunting, and be able to display it in your home/outside of it. Cant have multiple accounts, 1 home per account. Classless system. You find random portal that will take you into a dungeon in the wild. You should have NO IDEA what it is inside. All you can tell is level of difficulty base on color of the portal. MMORPG should be made like.... Endless World. With Danger. Night Comes.... Stuff of nightmare come out, so better be near safe place. Unique Loot/Skill Books/Abilities hidden in the world. You die, you drop something in your inventory. Get penalty to stats, and need to clear it by killing monsters. Areas of the world, become randomly PVP zones every 2 hours, except towns. You can drop gear when fighting in does zones, but only 1 piece of gear per death, but you can use treasures(High Quality/High Value items, like a goblet, or piece of jewerly, or magical gems etc) you find in dungeons/world to use instead as death items, that drop instead of your gear. 1 World, for all players. Different sections of world, separated by different servers.

I didn't find anything ptw in ffxiv tho except exp potion, u can be richest person in the game and still cant clear any high difficulty content, u gotta learn ur roles get better at the job class , the core mechanics etc Its more of a subscription based game since u need to buy subscription monthly but that's that. There is nothing in there that can put u on top except one being a better player

Thats what people say about bdo, grind a couple hours a week and you can progress…I can only grind about 5 hours a week. Which means 5-6 billion a week. Which means it will only take a solid 50 weeks of grinding to get my pen debo. Assuming i dont take a break, go on holiday or have other things to do.

I am hype af for this game. I thought it was sept11 launch on steam for free version but I guess that is oct now. I might even jump into this day 1 of the free launch just because I been craving something new now that war within is winding down.

I just downloaded and played TnL with a Vpn, absolutely amazing looking game, the seamless teleporting is mindblowing. Runs super smooth, the tab target I've always wanted. Feels familiar to guildwars and bdo. :) Amour sets and weapons look awesome aswell.

The main goal to make a game is to make money that's how we reward developers and the time they spend making any game the rest is just optional feelings

Doesn't the BattlePass increase your daily limit for how many dungeons you can run? How is that not gating progression?

To me it seems more pay for speed, not pay to win, there isn't much of an issue there at least for a person like myself that can spend 10 hours a day playing a game if wanted. I understand the frustrations for those that only have 3-4 hour here and there, while also not being able to swipe. That doesn't mean the game is bad tho, that just means those people should avoid small group pvp and find a guild that will accept them and help them. The game isn't pay to win, it's play to win. But I digress, this all just the opinion of some rando. (me)

They are adding lifeskill (already added fishing and cooking), just let him cook. We are comparing a new born mmo with others with 8 years

I don't consider BDO combat being best for mmorpg. I would rate TERA's and GW2's combat way better than BDO. However BDO combat has great animation flow which makes combat feels smooth and satisfying to play. Like look at every class launch. How many updates they do with patch notes clearly stating "improving the flow of x and y skills linking to z skill. This is why I think players confuse great combat with great combat flow. Anyway, you said really well Pansy. These days people don't even try game which they make like just because "ah it doesnt have BDO combat". As someone who played all type of combat, mouse targeting, tab target, hybrid, action, full action combat... TL's combat is close to perfection for MMORPG which has large scale events. And btw, NCSoft finally added option to remove that mouse camera movement smoothing effect which makes camera feel like you playing on console. Thanks to it the feeling of combat now is even better if you play with action camera mode.

my main concern with it is there’s no pve content. a lot of mmo players like myself just want the ASPECT of an mmo, not constant pvp. still going to try it out tho.

I only have enough time to play an mmo very casually and it's not a big deal how fast I level.

i tried the game when they opened the korea server for everyone is SEA, the game is great nice graphics lots of QOL but the combat isnt for me i think its because i played too much BDO and WoW, yes they have a classic mode for combat but it felt different unlike the WoW tab targeting, but yeah game is a must try

Look at Lost Ark, it was as p2w as it could get from day 1 and only started dying because how boring and brain-dead the endgame routine became and players thought they needed 8 characters to ''keep up'' (which is nonsense). Im from NA and mmorpgs have always been my favorite genre and I’ve sweat in every mmo i’ve played. I think theres a misconception as to what the pay to win is in this game. As far as im concerned NA doesn’t like pay to win that has better gear/classes locked behind pay walls. Throne, you can grind to get everything. You can only pay to advance quicker. It’s not the same.

Ima mess around with the game. i definitely won't put money into it, and I won't probably play it long term because gvg based games always die or lose the majority of their population. The casual player, the majority of them, don't want to come home to get ran over by a guild because they want to do an event and even the guilds that want to compete eventually players will get tired of losing and start to drop off and eventually the guild dies

Nah bro. It's a korean game that is dying and real bad in Korea... and those type of games don't make it in the west. DOA or if lucky ppl will play for a month or 2 and it will drop 90% players due to dominando problem etc. I played Tibia so I know this concept super well. The toxicity and cliques of big guilds or alliances will make it even worse. Just watch and mark my words.

I tried it in Korea , it wasn’t my cup of tea. My personal feelings if you like large scale PvP , with some instances, you will probably have fun with it. I more so enjoy PvE and Professions with dabbling into PvP on side. So it just doesn’t appeal to me , it lacks in PvE content outside of a few dungeons. BDO has a few dungeons, boss blitz, group raids coming tonight , whatever that fortress is coming, good combat at some point a new world coming, AOS , Guild League , RBF and some open world stuff for me to dabble as well as small scale & large scale that I personally don’t do much but have jumped into node wars at times for some fun i(they do need improvement on new node war system but it’s not horrible it can be fun still ) with a side of WoW to get some PvE fixes I can’t in Black Desert. Like mount & Cosmetic hunting, race unlocks etc… So I think I’m good sticking with BDO as my main with WoW alongside it for a few PvE aspects I can’t get in blackdesert.

will it flop? most likely. it already has flopped in the east and all of the hopes people had for it are being shown to not be what they wanted. itll boom for a month or 2 cause its new but its not gonna be the next big thing like people wanted, for a slew of reasons.

I've preordered and I am looking forward to playing it. But it will 100% flop if they keep the p2w elements. They improved it somewhat, but it's still to much for a western audience. It's very strange that they dont understand this.

The issue for me is the game play is still using this old tab targeting clunky wack a mole system. AND even the graphics are old and dated. Not to mention all the overly complicated systems too many currencies, Its like playing a spread sheet. Nup i cant invest my time and on top of all that knowing that whales are going to be rampant. Lastly the story. You just know its going to SUCK

MMO players are some of the most ridiculous. From comments, it seems that most just expect developers to donate their time developing an MMO, then not charge a subcriptions (because $15 a month is soooo expensive), not have a cash shop and God forbid dare charge a full Triple A title price. Then the devs will kindly maintain the MMO with loads of new content and updates, but heaven forbid they put in any mechanism for generating revenue. I dont think that most realize how expensive it is to maintain an MMO, let alone employ the development team necessary to create new content. The fact is that a cash shop, like any store, needs to sell items that are desirable and preferably consumable (a level boost) or semi-consumable (a currency). We should all be fine with this so long as everything for sale can also be attained via normal game play and assuming the game doesnt feature something like full loot PvP where your purchase of a boost can completely delete another persons hard work.

Besides the shit combat, game is overall pretty good. If they just updated to action combat i'd totally stick around. I did see that they updated a bunch of skills for each weapon, but IMO that doesn't fix the main issue with the combat which is the freedom of movement and clunkiness.

Combat looks mid and the graphics have that korean mmo style that i dont like. I dont really see much that sets it apart from other games. Just a shell mmo to fill up the time until something actually enjoyable comes along. I hate tab target mmos

I think it is a typical Asian game that only think one way of making a game it will be busy for the first three or four months then die off. I am a male same as you why would I want a pet that is for a woman or a child.
