VOLT won a total of 5 seats in the EU election, which is a 500% increase. But who are they and what do they stand for? And is the VOLT Pan European model something for other parties to aspire to?

Hey! I really like the graphics in those videos! Just out of curiosity: what software do you use for those great animated maps/infographics? I suppose it is After Effects? i would like you to make a video about Latvian party called "Nacionālā Apvienība". a "National Union" if translate to English. they are what mainstream media call far right. they have been in power for many years in Latvija. so,.... my question is. why does people compare all nationalism to German nationalism socialism Adolfo stuff? why does people think that nationalism is bad? Latvian nationalism brought us freedom from Soviet Union. we did " Song and Dance" revolution. it is insulting to me that my Latvian none violent nationalism is compared to German. just insulting. so i vote for Nacionālā Apvienība. so called far right...

I think that Volt is an exactly that sort of new policy that we need. I'm tied of the eternal rethoric focused on the past and present as an eternal solutions. But life oìis made by us , all institutions are made by people, Why should we be afraid to build a European Federation based on the sane principles of liberalism and conservatism? Federation is the best form of the common cooperation between different states. We can discuss limits of the federal state but for the Europe Volt proposes the best availbile for now solution. Volt's candidates are young. I see them like me instead of the most other politicians.

Because people dont want the status quo, building a federal europe on the basis of neo-liberalism and neo-conservatism will destroy the union in a time where people are done with inefective status quo liberals. Thats the problem with Volt they have no vision, just the status quo but bigger.
@joelimbergamo639

@@joelimbergamo639 He was talking about building europe on the basis of liberalism and conservatism volt would obviously be the liberals there. But both these groups are rooted in the same ideology that people are just kinda done with. And your question of if you dont like liberalism what else do you want really shows you are so deeply entrenched in the status quo you cant think anything is better. I rather have a big state then big corpos rulling over me atleast i can vote for the state, or you know make the economy democratic. The whole fascist wave we have right now is because all the centre-left to right wing options are just slightly different flavours of neo-liberalism and except for rich and some upper middle class people nobody actually likes that ideology

For all the people -especially those from Eastern Europe- who (just) found out about Volt and feel like it's the party that matches their beliefs: you can be the change that you want to see in the world. Most members of Volt are completely new to the world of politics, most were not part of a political party beforehand. I understand it might be daunting to become politically active, but it really is a shared experience with a big and growing European network of likeminded people. I've been a Volter in the Netherlands for +5 years, and I've had a wonderful and fulfilling experience thus far. In NL, Volt is pretty well established at this point, but we really want to be a proper European party. So if you're from a part of Europe where Volt lacks members, please consider joining up! You're not alone, we're all over Europe, ready to support each other. Especially if you're from Eastern Europe, we really need more representation from there.
@rixorobert

Volt is the only European party, all other parties have their main powerbase in a single country (with one exception). A European parliament that has members only representing a small part of the population will become overly political and with a focus on sub-optimization. If that happens in a big company that company tends to become bureaucratic and slow. Does that sound familiar when you look at the EU? My only problem with Volt is that their French chapter is French only. But for voting, there is no alternative.
@gammalambda333

@@LarsvanZonbut is it because you fear they might stray away from Volt Europa's core principles, or a question of reach for voters in France that don't speak French? The stereotype goes that when you're a tourist in France, French people will barely respond to English, supposedly out of pride and not for lack of knowledge. If that's a general view, I imagine they can more easily captivate their local voters by restricting themselves to French in their communications.

I'm only against Volt because their policy is to predictably make the Immigration problem worse because it supports and panders to Forced Entry & Settlement (illegal immigration/uncontrolled immigration). Australia shows the problem only gets worse (attracts more often fake refugess) if they are incentivised to do so. And better when the incentive is removed. A better more fear solution would be for asylum seekers to apply at Embassies, and wait. Those who choose forced entry, get the navy to put them in digyies near their home countries, with enough money to get home. Australia has solved the problem of Forced Entry & Settlement, now only allows legal entry. Also, the UN has no better solution and there is no bad consequence from ignoring them or withdrawing from them democratically.

Volt needs to look into the history of the Benelux Countries and the Scandinavian Countries to understand why a federated Europe could never occur. The United Kingdom of the Netherlands fell apart due to distinct linguistic, religious, and cultural differences even though most of it would be very similar compared to the rest of Europe as a whole. Hell, Belgium can barely keep it together as it's hardly a nation state. The Kalmar Union fell apart due to an imbalance of power held by the Danish crown despite the legal framework in theory putting Denmark, Norway, and Sweden on equal grounds. And I can add that, as a Swede, we all also have rather distinct linguistic, cultural, and especially political differences that would make any concept of federalizing even amongst ourselves a fool's errand. I'd also look into what happened with Czechoslovakia, Transcaucasia, Singapore & Malaysia, and Gran Colombia to get even more understanding of why this does not work. In fact, I'd recommend looking into why the Spanish American territories as a whole didn't unite versus why the Portuguese ones united into Brazil and compare that to the even more diverse state that the European Continent finds itself in. Ffs, France and Germany can't even agree on Nuclear Energy. That should be evidence enough.

@BlazeLycan
@BlazeLycan 3 месяца назад
@@sciamachy9838 glad we agree that a Federal Europe is impossible to be implemented effectively, but migration is a severely poor example to provide for your comparison of impossible policies. Since at least the medieval times; Europe hasn't had problems associated with migration, especially mass migrations, and it was considerably easier to get into a country's territory back then than it is today. This is evidenced by the influx of the Romani people into Europe around the 13th and 14th century. Today, most nations have rigid borders with checkpoints and border guards. Nationally, we even have the means to deport people if need be; a power that people in the past could barely dream of. A proper example of parties being voted on policies which are impossible to be implemented, let alone effectively; are those advocating various forms of equality. Be it economic such as wealth redistribution and "progressive" taxation, or socially like gender equality. This is for the simple reason that equality inherently means clamping down on people's liberties as people are not the same and thus are inherently unequal.

Volt is very pro personal freedoms, as long as they don't interfere with the freedoms of others. That means Volt won't tell you how to eat, speak, think or dress as long as you don't speak hate speech. At most Volt might put incentives on certain products or change the way in which the products are produced. Volt is not socialist as a party (there is a socialist wing though... but on the other end there is a similar sized neoliberal wing so in the end it cancels out to social democracy)

@@ATOM-vv3xu Did you even read the party agenda? It is a blue print for creating a new USSR. Volt wants the EU to become an even worse bureaucracy hell then it is already. They are pro EU-taxes and new taxes. They are pro Ukraine as an EU member - the most corrupt country next to Russia in the western hemisphere. They want to force everybody who builds a house to have solar panels on it - even if you have a better energy source - they force you to sell that energy for a cheap price to the regional energy oligopoly (which they will control with they bureaucracy puppets) which sells it back to you for at least x4 the price. They want to cancel the one voice agreement, which is a fundamental building stone of the EU contract. They want an European special police force. They want a government controlled public broad cast unit - works like a charm in North Korea and China. They want to force political parties to have quotas for e.g. women or they won't be allowed to run for elections. They want a sepcial task force made of bureaucrats to scan social media for comments THEY deem inappropriate - first stepping stone for the Chinese Social Credit Score System by the way. They want to force land owners to give away their private property for environmental zone for a price, they deem fit. Everybody how does not agree with their left wing policies should be forced to keep paying for the EU membership but they won't be eligible to get any money or benefits back. They call this one "Values and rules of the EU" in their party agenda. They want more weapons for Ukraine - which is not a member of the EU or NATO. They want tariffs on Chinese products to protect highly subsidized inefficient industries like the french and german car manufacturers - who buy and build most of their parts in China anyway. They want open borders. Refugees can freely choose where they want to go and governments shouldn't be allowed to say no - even if the refugee is a person with a criminal record, no papers or not legally an asylum seeker. They want creators of music, literature and art to share their product for free with the government. They are against nuclear power - which is wild since Volt in France is pro nuclear power. They wants a european army and more weapon manufacturers, controlled by the government of course. Volt is an extremist party with ideological goals close to the CCP in China. It is a dystopian party which wants to eradicate free will.
