It’s not the best animation I’ve ever seen. Definitely way way above the average but what’s actually insane is how long they maintained the quality. You might not have noticed but even the animations outside of fight scenes is outstanding excluding backrounds. Clearly a lot of work was put into every scene. That’s practically unheard of at this level.
@@FrostReave Honestly, its one of the best 12 or perhaps 26 episode animations in quite awhile ofc they have other better quality animes who gives a care however its still one of the best. Truthfully, why all of sudden over the past couple years ppl been crying about animation anyway can we just be grateful to have a good anime since we don't no when we possibly could get a good one.
Honestly, I am just grateful at this point that we are getting such passion and hardwork being put in wistoria because my mind have been getting sick watching 10 fps anime that we usually get.😭@@FrostReave
@@FrostReave no the animation is actually definitely in top quality, what makes you think it's only above average is the art. The color grading doesn't pop like 99% of anime now.
Will could’ve gone straight to the real body but he destroyed EVERY . SINGLE . CLONE and THEN went for the real one. Like bro, look at this(1:13),he is killing the clone while looking straight at the real one! That’s just beyond badass hahahaha
The best part is how ruthless he is with each one. He showed Julius that if this weren't a tournament setting he could have already killed him eight times over, effortlessly.
To be fair before this clip in the episode he not only did that but revealed to everyone how to tell the difference and then revealed he's childhood friends and a brother to the creator of that same spell he was so proud of who developed it at TWO years old
Julius being so proud of barely managing to copy one of Elfaria's spells only to find out that she had created that spell when she was 2 years old was not only hilarious but also showed how absurdly above everyone else the Magia Vanders are.
And also show how hard will has had to work and continue to work to reach the height he wants to go ! Once’s he cooled off man was in control the entire time!
3 things you need for a climatic middle-of-the-season fight: 1. Main theme in the background 2. Take out the lackeys with ease 3. A right hook that knocks the boss's teeth out and sends him flying.
@jackfang1434 there's only going to be 12 episodes, and it's a part where Will showed the whole school what he's been hiding from them. That is, in my view, a mid-story fight, and a defining one at that.
@@chrisschafer3518I agree with you, the story so far is mid (average). The guy with the red hair will become Will's friend, the girl with orange hair will probably be a useless love interest to. Wouldn't be suprised if Will has the typical inner demon trope. Hope that I'm wrong though.
@@joltionunivers that’s good to know then, especially since season 5 is coming out. Can barely stand Freya because of how much of a spoiled yandere she is, wouldn’t be able to stomach two of her.
That was probably bc of the line they said earlier in the ep about how he hasn’t moved a step… it was bought up twice by Julius and the teacher… that’s where that satisfaction came from. Just amazing dialogue writing imo
The hilarity of Will revealing one by one at just how embarrassing the spell Julius had mastered and considered his magnum opus: 1) Julius could barely control it without the help of his teammates. 2) His idea of “mastery” over it is only a small percentage when compared to Elfaria. 3) Elfaria created this spell and maximized its potential when she was only 2 years old. 4) She created this spell and mastered it when she was 2 years old simply because she thought it would be fun to dog pile on Will and give him many hugs from herself.
I mean, Sun Wukong is proof enough of that! From stone monkey to unstoppable force if not for Buddha. None of the Celestial Court's posses could do a thing to him!
Toji was born with superhuman physicality and relied on ambushes. I'd say that Will has more in common with Asta from Black Clover and the protagonist of Mashle.
there are plenty anime this year with beautiful animation, big hitters like: bokuyaba, frieren, apo diaries. but also the less popular series like: weakest tamer with also gorgeous animation. This quality is exceptional, week after week delivering stunning animation. Hats off to the animation team.
"Sorry, Julius. But I remember getting bullied by ten Elfie's" gave me goosebumps..... This episode was single handedly the best in animation, fight, and soundtracks like damn they cooked 🔥🔥
That line was amazing but also funny lol. The clones from Julius stood no chance when Will has dealt with atleast double. Bet Julius felt super salty after that line
Yes, it is worth watching. The premise will feel very familiar if you've also watched Black Clover and/or Mashle, but this show does its own distinct take on "protagonist without magic in a world of spellcasters" and does it well with a decent story and fantastic animation.
They missed out on the best part which is when Elfie reacts to Will revealing to the entire school that she used to tease him with her multiples when they were kids.😆
If it wasn't already obvious that this anime has the same director as Black Clover, then having the opening play during the climactic finale of a fight sure is another wonderful tell
The thing I loved about this fight was the fact each time Julius thought he was on top, Will would just have the perfect retort to make him realize how wrong he he was. “I am the first to replicate Lady Elfina’s secret magic!”…”She created that secret art when she was 2 years old.”😂 Made him more mad and frustrated until he lost.
The fact that Will knew where he was right at the start of the fight, he then dismantled every single ice clone and THEN went for the real one. Pure badass.
He had to dismantle the clones, in single file first. If he hadn't theyd have shot at him from all directions. Going in a line made them unable to attack all at once
I think it's safe to say that, in every way that actually matters (namely, demonstrating one's skills in front of the scouts), Will won that tournament by winning this fight. (spoilers for this episode ahead) It did cheapen things a little at the end that someone else just waited and grabbed the crown the moment the fight was over. That's pretty much the definition of an empty win.
Nah, the rules were clear, take the crown to win. Plus, I saw the elf guy taking the crown from a mile away, he was hyped when he destroyed julius' clone and got the other elves talking about him and he wasn't present for the fight so I knew he was going to have his moment by taking the crown.
@@amine456-k8s The rules were clear; I'm just saying that the purpose of the tournament is to show off to be scouted, and he didn't. I predicted him taking the crown after the fight as well. In fact, throughout this episode, I was thinking to myself, "Please don't have him swoop in and grab the crown at the end; please let us just savour Will's win."
@matthewmuir8884 I think this ignores Will's own personality. He only wanted to claim the crown for Colette and Sion, he says constantly going into the Crown Battle that he usually doesn't enter the Grand Magic Games because he feels it's disrespectful when he doesn't use magic. There's even a few points in his fight with Julius where he could have grabbed the crown instead, but he says himself his primary goal is to get Julius to apologize. Predicting Wignall to get it isn't too much of a reach since we already know he's in the area, but I think it is overall best for the narrative as well because Will won't ever get scouted by any of the factions cause he can't use magic and his teammates didn't make strong cases for themselves so I think its good he focused on beating Julius instead of taking the crown it made his whole team look better in the end.
@@kyo1546 You've made the best argument I've heard so far in favour of what happened at the end of the episode. You are right that Will was reluctant to even consider entering the tournament before Julius angered him, but the way that characters talked talked about made it largely seem like Will just didn't want to because of the bad experiences he had when previously entering it. You are also correct that his primary goal was to beat Julius, which he did succeed at doing. I guess my main problem with it from a narrative standpoint is that all it really achieves is dampening Will's first big public moment of victory, which really seems like a moment that should be savoured.
1:12 something I love about this is from beyond this they make a effort to avoid showing will eyes in frame! His eye being soly focus on Julius means. “Something like this won’t stop me, nothing is gonna save you anymore”. Like once will cooled off he was in control for the rest of the fight He’s been chasing after elifie for so long that if he didn’t beat him hear As rosty said “he would look silly” An my BOY WILL SELFORT came throughhhh
And Colette will get her punishing beat down from will as well Nobody makes fun of his way of doing things 😤 and least of all girls like bad girl colette😠
The downside is... SPOILERS The nowadays cliche happen where he won the fight but loses the tournament/game. Not saying it's a bad thing. Just saying it's the norm for shounen protagonist in this day and age.
It's happened more than once, Cleburne holding the railway tunnel against everything Sherman could throw at him just to have Thomas punch a 5 mile wide hole through the center of Bragg's army. Meade punching through Jackson's line at Fredericksburg and then having to withdraw because he wasn't supported while the Union "Right Grand Division" bled out before the stone wall.
Why have none of my friends been talking about this series? Why I gotta find out from RU-vid recommended??? Bro, at 2:00 I knew exactly what was happening after he threw that sword. "LET'S SEE YOU GRIT THOSE TEETH!" - Kamina
I'm just curious how everyone is going to treat him now. Everyone hated him, but when he won the whole crowd cheered. If they go back to hating him its going to be weird.
Crowds love a good fight period at events like this. Even if it was a spell el did at two for the first time in a while someone else reached her lowest level and Will fought that mage and one neither of them was weak.
Since the wind magic guy stole the crown from under him at the last minute, I wouldn't be surprised if things go back to the status quo among the students. It would be immensely disappointing if the story went that route (much as the elf stealing the crown was disappointing), but, like the elf stealing the crown, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
Funny he thought it would be a good idea to beat Will With a spell that was created by his best friend. But unfortunately for him when it comes to her, he knows her better than anybody else.
Bro, Will can literally speed blitz almost every wizard in this anime that's not Gandalf tier. It's so annoying watching him just stand their sometimes
This is an awesome moment. Seeing Will punching and knocking Julius' teeth out was very satisfying, especially in front of so many of their classmates. It really showed them that Will is not to be underestimated, and that magic isn't always everything. As long as you have guts and the heart to never give up, you'll accomplish anything.
While I'm not particularly happy with what happened right after this scene, this was a satisfying takedown, made better by the big slices of humble pie will served him earlier. Julius thought he was on par with his idle, Elfaria, until Will revealed that Elfaria had mastered the magic Will was just starting to grasp when she was two years old. Great takedown.
I completely agree. To be honest (spoilers for this episode) I don't get why the wind mage decided to just grab the crown. The actual purpose of the tournament is to demonstrate one's skills in front of all the scouts; choosing to hang back and grab the crown while everyone's busy demonstrates nothing and makes it the definition of a hollow victory, and, for us the audience, it also detracts from Will's first big public victory; a moment the story should've savoured).
@matthewmuir8884 It was kinda cut for time, but Wignall was masking his presence (and his teammates) with a powerful illusion spell that made it seem like they weren't there. He was showing off magic, just in a more cunning fashion. That said, you're right in that if he wants to be scouted he needs to show off more. Last episode Lefiya and Filvis, who were scouting for the Wind Faction, just said he was average.
@@SpacePirateLord Note while any explanation was cut for time, to me it is portrayed as Wignail's group just does appear from nowhere (the announcer even says it) suggesting some sort of shenanigans of the magical variety.
Facts now the ice faction already wanted will now the lightning faction will want him since that one chick finna go report to her boss once she said his name
@DharakRulerofDarkness different budget, director, and a new studio is helping animate it. Honestly, the drop in quality can be directly attributed to the director.
This scene was amazing... will impailing julius in the head while looking at him was cold asf 🥶🥶 love how they showed the gaps in his teeth as he flew away 😂
There is fan theory that Rosty is Elfaria male clone, made for her to stay close with Will, while still being in the tower. If you will rewatch scenes with Rosti in this episode it's pretty obvious. When Elfie is awake Rosty has ony one eye open.
Dark souls - Elden Ring Mages who only focus on intelligence = I use spell. Dark souls - Elden Ring Players that focused stamina, strength, poise at maximum and who use a greatsword, a heavy axe, a curved sword, big hammer, or fist weapons =That's cute, my turn, I use obliterate.
