agree! i see him and still hate him from Heat.....cause he WAS that guy. Thats great acting. i really enjoyed this cause now i know he just a good guy and great actor
Fichtner is great in everything, but his 5 minutes in "the West Wing"? A whole masterclass right there. I understand no one remembers that but I will never EVER not be impressed by that performance.
@@emiliospowerballer1441 100% his best role, he mesmerises the audience as Alexander Mahon and helps brings season 2 to life. His character arc is also incredible, not just the writing but his acting, to go from hated company assassin (similarly to Paul) to a beloved part of the team. By the end of the show he was my favourite character haha
I’ve often thought Bill Fichtner was a guy you could sit down and have a coffee or a drink with and forget he was an actor. This interview did nothing to dispel that notion. Down to earth, personable, Everyman. Loved him in Perfect Storm, Heat & Contact. I hope he continues to get roles in films.
Yes hes been in so many movies. I first started to recognize him when I saw Armageddon in theaters as a kid. Ppl forget hes in the beginning of The Dark Knight too.
He wasnt in harry potter, lord of the rings, the matrix movies. also wasnt in the departed, the lion king, avengers. i could keep listing movies he isnt in. this comment section is inaccurate.
Same as Xander Berkeley. 99% of people wouldn't know his name but he just turns up in great movies, a lot of them. He was also Waingro in LA Takedown, the movie that Heat was a remake of.
He was also in Equilibrium William Ficthner is one of those actors, you know his face but you can never remember his name, and you always know he is fantastic.
Oh yay, someone else who saw that movie! I got to see it in theaters, but literally missed like the first 20 odd minutes. Didn't care, still loved that first viewing.
Used to rent that movie all the time from the local movie rental place. Had a friend that loved X and all that jazz, told him about it and he stole it. Haven't watched it since. Probably the late 90's. He ended up taking too many drugs an going mad. I think he went Schizophrenia on us too. Ended up in crazy homes and hospitals. Kinda like Syd Barrett. Don't do drugs, kids. At least not much of the hard drugs.
I was trying to remember the first film I saw him in. It was Go! That movie is such a hoot! 'Gimme your wallet....now get outta here, you're baaad luck!'
Just like John C. McGinley, he's that guy from that thing. They need to make a movie together so no one will know their names, but everyone will recognize them.
i swear this guy is always in some of my favorite movies but hes never had a big role. i love him as alexander mahone in prison break, this guy is a great actor.
I remember him from Crossing Lines with Donald Sutherland (great show) and Prison Break; he still looks good in 2021.Watched him in The Neighbor last year. He is talented, no question about that.
He’s pretty much the only reason I finished watching that show. It started great and just kept getting sillier and sillier, William Fichtner really was great though
Buffalo wanted my dad to play for them when he graduated college in the early 60's but my mother forbid it, that was back when those guys didn't make millions of dollars and after 7 or 8 years in pro football they were done, busted up and not worth a darn for anything else.
I'm watching Prison Break right now, him & Robert Knepper are absolutely brilliant & carry the show on their (very) capable shoulders. Wicked acting skills & sheer f*cking talent, both of them. Cheers !
Heat is one of the best of all time. I stay at the hotel in LA where this was filmed. I have walked the bank shootout a few times while there. Wonderful! I wish Michael Mann had more of these in him!
This guy had a great friendship with Ray Liotta back in 2002, he's a really cool guy who's good at everything related to performance, he does the voice of Ken Rosenberg and Sandman, he's a really cool guy
Heat is a great movie and is also a good movie for movie nerds like myself for the goofs and continuity errors it contains, which does not at all take away from how awesome the movie is. Best of both worlds!
