In this video, Dr. Bill Roach engages some of the claims made by William Lane Craig @ReasonableFaithOrg on Jesus affirming false propositions. • Apologetics & Academia...
Thank you for detailed response. I might translate this video to Russian language. You bring up important points here. Regarding the mustard seed, you mentioned that there was a dictionary from Zondervan, that deals with this issue in depth. Can u send a link to it? What was the issue with the eyes as a lamp of the body, that Craig mentioned? Also, here Craig openly states that he thinks that Christ was wrong, but in some of his articles he is saying the same thing but sugar codes it in such a way that unlearned reader may not even recognize that. I think that this is dishonest on his part. BTW, that intro with pope on a rope is hillarious!
I believe that when talking about seeds, the laws of kushrut should also be taken into account here. Jesus certainly drew pictures in parables that were understandable to first-century Jews and their traditional agricultural preferences. So if you dig in this direction, it will surely turn out that of the seeds accepted/allowable by kushrut and therefore used in Israel of the first century, mustard seed will be the smallest. But of course, if the pictures of parables that are clear and true in the Jewish context are transferred into modern, let's say botany, then they clearly will not fit into the worldview of such heresiarchs as WLC.
This guy does not believe in Biblical Inerrancy and infallibility, I've heard him literally mocking Genesis 1-11, his Molinism junk and all. I personally believe that he is agent from the other side.
I did not follow you got to the idea that Jesus did not teach false things but the gospel writers included false things. Is that something you've seen from WLC, or someone else, or a direction you think evangelicals will head in? In the video clip, WLC seems to say that Jesus believed false things, said false things, but did not teach those false things.
This is so good. Please do more of these interactions. I fully believe WLC is a Christian and we will see him in heaven. But he allows the unregenerate academy to set the standard, which he then uses in apologetics. His heart is in the right place, but man....he compromises on so much.
I believe I saw William Lane Craig debate an atheist at NC State. I was in seminary at the time, so this must have been close to 30 years ago, probably 1995. A good old boy from the country stood up and presented the gospel to the atheist, letting him know he was heading to Hell. Craig was not comfortable with that and was very disrespectful to that other Christian.
