Thank you for the shoutout Trevor! We are indeed already working on a solution with our Deep Sky Dad AF3s motor or ZWO EAF motor. We will also prepare an automated flats panel with integrated heater, field rotator and more! First light looks great, can't wait to see more images with this OTA! Our unit is still in delivery, but we have bad forecast for the week anyway.

Hi there. I'm looking at this combination to shoot nice sky objects. I hope you can tell me if my setup I plan to buy is goid or not. I presently have the Sky Watcher Adventure Tracker, i want to buy a Canon 90D and a Rokinon 135mm lens for it. I presently have a Canon XSi camers which i plan to remove the filter. I'm hoping to shoot M13, the Horse Head Nebula and other stuff in Orion, planets, the Moon, The Vail Nebula, California Nebula, Andromeda and so on. I'm sure some of these will not work for me but I will try. Any input is welcome. Thank you.

I like the gear ring for the autofocuser. It's a nice addition to have. There were some complaints about using the DSD on the 51's user group. Apparently, it put too much pressure on the helical focuser of the 51. I currently use the black cat mount with my 51, and it's been doing well.

Hey Trevor, Every time I watch your videos I’m so inspired by your amazing enthusiasm & love for what you do. I’m early in the journey of astrophotography here in the UK shooting with a Canon R6 & ef lenses on an iOptron Skyguider Pro with a little autoguiding help from PHD 2. I’m waiting for my ASI Air plus to be delivered so I can operate my rig remotely but sometimes find myself frustrated by the amount of time it takes me to find & frame some of the smaller dso without a goto mount. Whenever this happens I watch your latest videos & I’m immediately reinvigorated to get out there and try again. Keep up the good work.😀

Nice work Trevor. I love my WO GT81. Extremely good optics. I think Nico still has a few tricks up his sleeve for capturing asyro images. Great to have both sharing your information for us astro newbies. You got me into this expensive hobby, but I'm not complaining. Outside at 3:30 AM on a clear night is an experience that is hard to beat. Your subtle comment about a winter scope has me thinking that you could help us beginners with some tips on how to deal with winter weather and our astro gear. Do you leave all of your gear in an unheated enclosure during the winter, so that it does not need to climatic before imaging? Do you have a low temperature cut-off where you may consider equipment damage (mount drives for example)? I live in Ottawa, so we get as cold or colder than you in Southern Ontario. Cheers, enjoy the dark fall skies.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but a quick fix for your cable management is go to the local hardware store and buy whatever length and diameter plastic tubing that will hold your cables and then just cut down one side of it. Boom. Done. Or get some zip ties.

Interesting, basically similar to the old WO Star 71 flatfield scope in redcat setup, 71 mm, f4.9. There are quite a few scopes is identical to this, such as TSAPO71Q which I have, and this 350 mm scope is a great widefield range.

I know that a Petzval lens is an old-style photographic lens that, because the right kinds of glass weren't available, used the dodge of correcting for curvature of field by means of astigmatism - so that it had a flat field for at least one set of rays. Astronomical telescopes, of course, usually have objectives that are just a single achromatic or three-element APO lens, they're not complicated like a double-Gauss photographic lens. So maybe Petzval is a step up, but because modern glasses are available now, I can see why people would have doubts about that design, even if they're not justified, and this is an incredibly good telescope.

Thanks for this video, one of man great ones, Trevor. After lots of research, I've settled on getting a Redcat 71 for my first refractor. Quick question. Does one need spacers for the right backfocus with the 71? I'm planning on using a ZWO ASI294mm and a 20mm filter wheel on mine, so am wondering if I might need any spacers. Would be most grateful for any feedback. Thanks again for the great videos!
