Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.
The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.
By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

It would also be great if I found a lottery ticket on the ground with 50 million dollar jackpot. Both are possible, and about equally likely. Barr hasn't done crap in actually holding criminals in our government accountable for his entire career. He helped to cover up the Iran Contra Scandal. The man is deep state through and through. Don't expect him to show any backbone or honor. He never had before. He's a pleasant man, enjoyable to listen to, and working against the public good. He protects criminality and corruption in the government, he doesn't expose it and eliminate it.

Not enough law keeping or enforcing was going on under Trump's cabinet picks, including Barr. It was known by January 6th 2020, < 300 million had been used by Zuckerberg to circumvent existing voting laws in various swing districts. Nothing has been done, now most Americans trust government less than ever. Ultimately, liars, thieves and murderers have a reservation in the lake of fire, regardless of Mr Barrs efforts to justify his lack of action. Lawlessness will be judged by God.

After the presidential election, there were over a thousand sworn testimonies given under oath, by poll watchers of both parties, attesting to there being massive vote fraud, and unlawful acts committed by election official in battle grounds states, apparently changing the results of the election. It took him one day to determine there was no fraud. Seems to me Attourney General Bar was derelict in his duty in not calling for an investigation. We can thank him and powerful men like him for what this country is going thru.

Remembering when I had to take Civics in HS, I remembered we had a teacher who had immigrated to this country and he took this seriously. I now realize how much he loved and appreciated this country. He made it clear that he would FAIL you IF you did not earn the grade to pass. First day of class he put up all these pictures asking Us to say the name of person if we recognized them. It was then I realized how little we really teach in school. Every athlete and celebrity was recognized and more than half didn’t recognize current leaders, and past Presidents. It was when I went to Europe and had meals with friend’s family and even new acquaintances I noticed that history and politics were discussed at dinner. Many knew more about our country’s history than I even did (and I actually knew much more than family and friends at home). How can we expect future generations to appreciate what they REALLY DON’T understand? My kids hated (and still do) but I won’t have them be completely ignorant to what is going on and the history of this country. I am now glad that I felt that way.

@@wwrite I think Gowdy may have been exempt from corruption, kind of why I think he got out and maybe Rand Paul. I think Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz are part of the swamp, and I just mention them because they get a pass from a lot of people and a lot of folks are high on them. Obviously I think Trump is trustworthy and honest. Other than that I can't think of anyone. I'm sure there are some others in his Admin that want to see prosecutions and want to see the leaks stop but I wouldn't know who they are besides Trumps immediate family. I hope I'm wrong about Barr but it's looking like he isn't going to do anything with the previous admin or the FBI, CIA etc..

A long time since I was able to adopt a new view. Mr. Barr teached me something new. I am not sure how much it will extend into my worldviews, but it is something special, at my age, to hear something, which I always thought differently about, presented so clear and senseful, that I can adopt it. I am surely not the brightest light in the room, but I am allowed to speak from my own perspective, right? This was one of the most intellectual and moderate presentations I had the opportunity to witness for quite some time.

I grew up abused with no God or law to help! I realized as I survived God was there only as presented to me but I have learned in my 59yrs now. The laws still do not help children. So my goal was children of my own to change my path! I accomplished that! But the law never caught up to children! I truly think I missed my path to change the laws for other children! Because without laws for Our Most Vulnerable (other than mine), I desperately lost, it's so devastating to me! I admire the Attorney General for speaking out at a time like this. Everyday I see egregious frankly Medieval intrusions on civil liberties by state officials with impunity. And yet we see little justice. In Omaha the prosecutor just drove a former marine to suicide. But that is just a small example of of what the legal system is now. We saw it strike at the president himself, and got away with it. They always get away with it. Things feel dark, dire and dangerous.

Term Limits might help solve part of the problem. Outlawing lobbyists & donations from corporate donors/super PACS to campaigns. Also, require ALL campaign funds to be raised WITHIN THE AREA REPRESENTED. Stop Soros money from going into campaigns to elect activist judges and district attorneys.or designate Soros as a terrorist perhaps? Can all of this be written into a single amendment? I’m sure there’s many more ideas. Sadly, we cannot enact laws to enforce morality.

Notice how when a lawyer commits a misdeed it's labeled "antithetical" and gets away scot free? Why not make it UNLAWFUL? That would make prosecutor's think twice before going after someone, or organization, merely on the basis of suspicion. Allowing digging into someone's past on suspicion only serves to legitimize the lawyer's unspoken credo, "show me the man and I'll find the crime". Even if no crime is discovered, the damage to the "suspected" has already been done, ruining reputations and loss of goodwill that oftentimes has taken years to achieve.

Spot on Mr. Barr, at around 56 min Barr talks about lawyers who can't tell their clients the law because judges are reinterpreting. When I went through my divorce in CA - took 6 years, BTW - there were so many "interpretations" that my lawyer was getting frustrated and we can't change judges unless we find some sinister element with the judge and prove it. He came to me after one hearing and said, "I talked to a bunch of other lawyers about the judge's ruling and everyone of them said, 'he is not following the law' ". Very frustrating when you present a case and do a bunch of research and this even had to do with instructions that she had to follow from the trial judge and she didn't follow the instructions and the next judge just ignored it.

This is my second run through on this presentation and strongly recommend it. Your blood pressure will rise though. It's encouraging that Barr recognizes many of the moral challenges happening right now. The frustration comes when you realize it was recognized 20 years ago and things are worse and gettin' worser! The blatant power mongering and in your face abuse of same power is staggering! Like a thunder bolt hit you and leaves you stunned!

Larry’s comments and positioning of the talk by way of introduction were the most important and edifying portion of this whole event in my estimation. General Barr is kind of like an Al Mohler it seems; I have sincerely benefited by much of Al’s writings as have I by Bill Barr. I have in past years sincerely benefited from Al’s witness on particular matters and admired them both. But like Al Mohler, some where Bill Barr abandoned maybe in subtle calculated ways, the truths that he once deeply held. It’s disheartening to see Bill become lukewarm in his second half life towards the fundamental constitutional constructionist claims that he once held; gone is his defense of the people of the particular states. Maybe it’s to be expected that one spends long enough in federal circles; that they lose the zeal for the understanding and foundational principle that we are first citizens of our marriage, our family, our church, our neighborhood, our city, our county/parrish, and citizens of our state; only then and finally are we citizens of the nation. That our citizenship is ordered and that as citizenship demands advocacy, that the advocacy must also be rank ordered and oriented towards the aspirations and needs of that order. We are necessarily required to hold individual’s, family, church, and states rights and aims above any nation. I do hope Bill will rediscover what being a citizen is and requires; that he’ll not simply expect separation of powers to win the day at any level when the supposed higher level asserts power over another sphere for which is doesn’t have authority by constitution, nor by our God’s command that the ruling authority has but two roles: to promote righteousness and punish evildoers. Every thing above and outside of that toys with theft and tyranny. Just my 2¢ -No King but Christ!

ZW You make it sound like he meant “because you know nothing, the Constitution does not apply to you.” But that’s not the case. He was making the point that because our educational system doesn’t teach Constitutional awareness, the uninformed have no outlet to protect themselves Constitutionally, and have no knowledge of how to become informed. And that leads to an informed opposition (prosecution) being able to wield power at their discretion and by their interpretation. If his statement was a warning, it was to the uninformed, that they need to become informed to properly defend themselves Constitutionally.
