William Shatner Speech at Montclair State University 2023 Commencement 

When the captain of the enterprise can talk and encourage us to strive for the best, who are we to question his vision. Thank you Mr Shatner for your work that propelled that vision of hope for the future.

I wanted to serve on a starship, but my college counselor said that it would be impossible. You see, I was born a few centuries too early.

Set course for the future Gene showed us we could have! Make it so!

The future is yours to make.

It was very disappointing. He did not address Montclair State. It was clearly a canned speech. He was going back-and-forth reading it off the screen. He was dressed like he had just cut the grass. He had a printer and trash in the background. I found it to be very disrespectful.
