Bill Styron is one of my favorite writers and Sophie's Choice is one of my most favorite books. That said, I am deeply saddened that this wonderful and thought provoking talk (posted in July 2016) has received ONLY 111 views!

According to William Styron, the dark side of Christianity and the organized churches had nothing to do with anti-Semitism. He also seems to believe anti Asian racism in the U.S. during WWII, when Japanese Americans were wrongly interned, had nothing to do with the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Did William Styron ever visit libraries; did he ever look around? Maybe southern segregation was so routine to him that he had trouble getting his bearings.
