All these musicians from the 70s were so ahead of their time..they’re literally responsible for like 80% of modern hiphop. They’re the key holders for real
There is no hip hop without them. That's we love them so much in hip hop and give them their flowers as much as possible. At least hip hop legends. This is the music that influenced them from the beginning
+Drey Andersson Thats what I like about Hip Hop and sampling. Paying Tribute to the original artist. I think not many would have known the original without them sampling this
the older i get, the more i appreciate my grandfathers choice of music. now i listen to more of these music more that my dear hip hop. wish he was alive to see me transition. i miss you "Baba Ododo❤"
I love this song! I see why Three 6 Mafia sampled this and other Willie Hutch tracks. He wrote the perfect soundtrack for street life at the time besides Curtis Mayfield who was also underrated.
I'm sorry if you disagree, but this has to be ONE OF THE BEST BEAT BUILDUPS TO A CLASSIC TRACK, SONG, SAMPLE, WHATEVER, IT DOES NOT MATTER!!!!! RIP TO THE LATE GREAT WILLIE HUTCH AND CONGRATS TO THE 3-6 MAFIA FOR BEING WISE ENOUGH TO SECURE SOME OF THE MOST TIMELESS MUSICCCCCCCCCC IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST TO EVER DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!
@@lakendrickfisher7061 Isaac Hayes, Willie Hutch, Fela Kuti, Isley Brothers, Leon Haywood, Otis Redding, the list goes on. Soul, Blues, Funk, it's all coursing through hip-hop daily and these are just some of the OGs we have to thank for that. Quincy Jones, Bobby Caldwell, etc. Gotta love it.
probably so but I have to say that the samples used in a lot of hip hop has been the reason I checked out the artist of the sample. I actually like trying to figure them out lol I Wasnt real familiar with willie hutch and one day I was watchin that movie the mack and realized the song I choose you was the sample they used in International players anthem.
70s funk and soul is a goldmine for samples and that entire decade has classic music from all sorts of genres. People like DJ Paul, the RZA and many others grew up with this stuff and having the chance to be molded by such a wildly creative decade is a rarity.
your my pie your piece your my pot of gold tell my why hss our love turned cold 💯💯🌸🌸 my boyy Willie Hutch he all i use to listen too this my favorite blues person
Call me the juice and you know I'm a stunt Ride in the car with some bump in the trunk Tone in my lap and you know it's the pump Breakin' down the good weed rollin' the blunt Ghetto pimp tight girls say I'm the man Ice on the wrist with the ice in the chains
I like to thank youtbe for being the only place I can find this song. You always come through when streaming services fail us. Just a shame I can't turn my screen off and listen to it without paying
Heard this playing at a antique market downtown. A local radio station was playing it on vinyl. I recognized it from the three six sample. I wanted to know what it is. I’m so glad I got to hear the original song. This isn’t what I would normally listen to, but I feel all the pain and emotion in it.
for those who dont know. DJ Paul and Juicy J bought the Masters off Willie Hutch. Thats why you will hear a lol of Hutch sampled tracks. its was for the whole HCP
They listened to this growing up and made their music. 20 years later I'm listening to it and discovering their inspiration. 2022 is not so bad. I would have never found this song if not for a RU-vid comment in 2022
