56 years. It’s a Martin N20. He previously played a Baldwin but someone fell over or sat on it. Could not be repaired so the luthier sent him Trigger. It has no pick guard. Classical guitars never do but Willie uses a pick. The soundboard is also thinner. Hence the hole. Willie calls it a second sound hole. Ironically Martin’s Custom Shop will not build a customer a replica at any price. Chris Martin IV sounds a bit embarrassed when asked about it. It’s such a piece of junk. Nobody seems to know if the frets and fretboard have been replaced.

Cam Coles plays one that he found in a builder's skip (debris container).

They did a remake already. You have to make the hole yourself😊

I think it’s because he’s been playing the same guitar, with a pick and no pick guard. Apparently it can happen over time and this guitar is decades years old. His guitar was actually given to me as an example of why to always have a pick guard. I have a beautiful guitar (not expensive at all but it’s just stunning and has a beautiful sound) and with all the love and respect for Willie - I don’t want it to look like his Trigger.

I've wondered the same thing. Best I can figure it's where the pick has gone in between the strings. Sure would take a lot of pain to create that much wear, so I'm not sure

Despite the asking price of €27.7K on Reverb, the realized prices are between €2K and €7.5K.

That seems BS to me. It would have altered the sound and all the signatures would have disappeared.
