The Road Back follows County Durham football team Willington AFC and their brand new management team as they look to find promotion from the Wearside league back to the Northern League after two successive relegations.
This mini documentary was filmed with Willington AFC from mid June to early July in 2024.

Dean, thanks very much for making this video. Willington have not had it easy over the last 2 seasons and its great to see the enthusiasm to get the club back into the Northern League. I still have my Willo shirt with the Alpine Windows logo on it and it turns a few heads if I wear it in Northallerton. Great turn out for the friendly too, so thanks to Crook Town for supporting their neighbours. 🔵⚪🔵⚪

What a excellent documentary about one of the most friendly non league football team in the country I’ve been going to watch willington play for over the last two seasons and every time I’m there the staff and support are all friendly and supportive to everyone that walks through the gates and I will be back to watch my local club play this season onwards and upwards up the willington ❤❤

Great video and a cracking result against the Black & Ambers. Most encouraging thing was the attendance of 400. The Northern League is where you belong and I think you will be playing there in 2 years time.
