I was checking that out too😂 nice review! I agree the horizontal configuration seems to be the best for this stand. You have to quit chasing cars on the mini bike and get the razor bug done! With age comes the cage… Thanks for sharing
Hello Outlaws, Definitely works best as a horizontal saw. Couldn’t figure out the power switch but the pedal works better anyway. Thanks for watching!!
I was eyeballing that bandsaw stand for Christmas Willie, but I figured it wouldnt fit my 16yr old chicago electric hand held bandsaw from HF. I've cut lots of metal with it and of course its very hard to cut a good straight line with it, but it still works, just bought a metal cutting 7-1/4" wheel (higher rated rpm) to use in my 5500rpm 10" miter saw, one of them home depot diablo's ,had to make a bunch of mods to it but it works good. Nice video on the Hercules stand, good job! 👍🇺🇸
Happy holidays Lou-eye, It worked perfectly for my four year old Bauer saw. I’ll probably just buy another bandsaw for the SWAG stand I have for the when I need the vertical bandsaw. I see the advantages of the horizontal saw. Thanks for watching!
@angrycruizer2o3 .. yeah they been around since the '80's, they began as "Harbor Freight Salvage" in '77 in Calif. then changed their name to Harbor freight tools. Yeah the good ole days is right👍
Hello mklein, My local store only had one and when I walked the doors it was right in front of me. I took it as a sign that I needed it. Thanks for watching!!
Hello Trailboundco, It’s not so much that I liked the Swag better but that I found the converting of the stand was to the vertical saw was inconvenient to me. I use the vertical saw more than the horizontal saw and to leave this stand in vertical configuration takes up too much room. Also the table for the vertical position is smaller on the Hercules saw. I will most likely purchase another bandsaw for the Swag mount and have the best of both worlds. Thanks for watching!!!
A few comments. I think you are supposed to put the saw in from the bottom and doing so you wouldn’t need to remove the chop configuration handle. At 20:45 where you do your angle cut it looks like your miter guide is lined up so your material would hit the blade guides. You need to move your guide to the other hole and when using that other hole is when the other set of numbers is used. Finally, why couldn’t you use the SWAG plate with this new setup? It’s still just two screws right? Then you have the bigger and smoother surface. I have not bought one of these yet but I’m thinking that if you made a spot for it on a bench or cart you could build a slide out or fold up table to support the chop base and when down have it recess into the bench out of the way. The real trick I see though is cutting miter angles on longer pieces so a portable cart might be better than wall or a bench mount. At least as a portable setup you could make stands that could also clamp to longer pieces. The only thing I can’t see an easy way to do is compound miter cuts but I guess freehand is an option. Thanks for the review! I learned a good amount watching your video.
