gabi honestly, I think that would go weird places. Can you imagine: “strangle me with that taffy! Oh, you’re so dominating!” Sure, the movie wouldn’t change, but the rating would.
His voice in this film is totally different to Jack Sparrow and even his normal speaking voice. I loved his rendition of Wonka. Seeing this in theatres felt like visiting the factory.
I still find it astonishing that this is Johnny Depp. He went from an awkward, drunk and slightly suave pirate, to an eccentric, loner chocolate factory owner, and than back to the pirate in a span of 3 years
Not only that, he played a drug addict reporter, a scummy rare book dealer, and an awkward 19th century detective all in the span of less than 2 years.
As a kid, “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory” was a fun movie with a delightful Mr. Wonka who loves kids and takes them to his magical factory. As an adult, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” is a dark-ass comedy about a slightly-crazy dude who secretly hates kids and idiots, and brilliantly trolls a group of awful children and their parents while he holds them hostage in his torture-town. I LOVE it.
johnny depp is honestly one of the most dynamic actors ive ever seen. he becomes all of his characters so well, and it's genuinely hard to believe that they're all the same person... like look at willy wonka next to sweeney todd, mad hatter, jack sparrow and ichabod crane
@@ScottSullivanTV On the contrary, it added to his character without compromising too much. And this subplot is way better then the Slugworth subplot from the previous movie
As a child I never understood how this movie was good. Now as an adult I appreciate the sarcasm and bluntness from Willy Wonka. It just hit me that Gene Wilder also had a sarcastic tone in the movie as well which I love even more.
How he can morph into the character he plays is remarkably amazing. Comic stupidity to dark humor, a serene lover boy to a grotesque criminal, ghoulishly scary to a simple and witty citizen, you name it. He's been the reason for several average films to rise up to distinction levels. He's a legendary actor without any doubt. He's a treasure for the art of modern film making. He's a treasure not only for the USA but also for the world to respect, applaud, preserve, cherish and protect.
@@margogoralski6294 short answer they were made for the type of music people was listening to at the time making already sound dated but mostly the og songs all flowed together while the new ones all have different themes pull me out the movie when they start
@@SyFy412 I see. It's perfectly fine to feel that way. I meanwhile enjoy them as they don't feel repetitive like the old Oompa Loompa songs, all while having great choreography and lyrics taken from the book.
Depp absolutely nailed this character. Hes been locked up alone in a factory for years, dedicating his entire life to one thing: candy. He hasnt had any social interaction with anyone in years, and you can really tell with this portrayal. The only subject he can talk about without sounding unbelievably awkward is candy.
Okay wow most likes I've ever got on a comment xD also i just keep coming back to this video cause at this point it's the only thing keeping me sane, ironic
The way he is able to transform himself like that is absolutely astounding! He's like a chameleon! Completely unrecognizable from appearance, voice, mannerisms, just everything. How he is able to morph himself into his characters is just so absolutely fascinating & beautiful to see.
It's so crazy that Johnny Depp can go from playing one of the most chaotic, perverted, and funniest pirates ever to this calm, quiet, awkward and funny character. So nuts.
Can we just appreciate the fact that Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp both PERFECTED their roles rather than pinning them against eachother? Gene's was a showman and imaginative magician with tricks and a huge imagination. Depp's was a strange, shut-off nye-on maniac with no clue how to adjust his opinions to the situations of those around him. Imagination was Wilder's, and modernisation was Depp's. Both did a magnificant job of it! and to top it off Timmothee Chalamet did an amazing job of a younger much more sane and forgiving Wilder-Wonka in his rendition! Love them all as their own Wonka's!
ill never get over the way he laughs after being told that the elevator will smash into a millions pieces, i could watch it over and over and still laugh. i love the way they made this movie. being completely different from the gene wilder one but be just as enjoyable. although the original will always hold a place in my heart. i really cant compare them.
It's like he's just awkward and doesn't want to talk until someone says something and he's just annoyed and disgusted as if they don't have the rights to talk
It’s so heartwarming realizing that I grew up watching Johnny Depp on various movies that I enjoyed watching when I was a kid😭 It was late for me to realize that he was the one behind Hatter, Edward Scissorhands, Barnabas Collins, Willy Wonka, Rango, Captain Sparrow and Sherlock Gnomes.
doesn't care, possibly insane, socially awkward, sealed off from the world, seems like they want to die. very accurate. we're an interesting generation.
wait dont forget about cry-baby. He went from a bad boy to this. My ELA teacher said willy wonka creeps her out even though she is making us read the book😂
Johnny Depp truly is a magician...He is totally the Mad Hatter...entirely Cap'n Jack Sparrow of the Black Pearl and completely Mr.Willy Wonka...Can anyone be so complete and miscible in their roles? He is epic.
apparently the lines "it's in the fridge daddio, are you up to the job? can you dig what i'm laying down? i knew that you could, slide me some skin, soul brother" are all improv by johnny and it just makes it 10x funnier.
