Willys Jeep CJ2a new replacement body prepping for paint to get ready for final install Part 2 of 3 

I have purchased about 6 tub kits from Scott and C and C Equipment. They are very complete and are in great shape when shipped to me. Easy to prep and install and look like original parts when painted. Just ordered another one yesterday, he is on top of the shipping , I receive mine in 2 days by truck in Michigan. Holy smokes. That finish is amazing. Car show quality. Best part is you didn't have to go and do this quality of a finish and it still would have looked pretty good, but you did to show what can be done with these kits if someone wants to. My Skoda Yeti has got a few stone chips, it needs a C&C touch up. However I would have to ship it over from the UK, unfortunately though the cost of shipping, would mean it's cheaper to buy a new car. 🤗😂🤗 That finish is stunning, what a colour.

I used to restore old jeeps . I had seven in some stage of restoration at one time. I started out not knowing that there were CJs, MBs and GPWs. It took a while, but I finally sorted it out. I’ve seen a lot of restorations but you guys beat all I’ve ever seen. I picked up your channel from Dirt Perfect’s channel. Keep up the great work. 7:22

So I've got a Jeep painting story for ya. I was in the Army in 1970, stationed at a base in Vietnam called Long Binh. Five miles north was a large air base called Bien Hoa. On the road in between were many small businesses, including vehicle paint shops. "New York Jeep Painting" was the sign in front of one of the businesses, and the day came when one of the two M151 Mutts ("Jeep", for all intents and purposes; made by Ford) assigned to our unit was getting long in the tooth. A collection was taken up for a paint job (strictly forbidden to visit the local shops, so this paint job was very unofficial) and off two of us went, pulling in to New York. The siding on all the buildings was, really, cut and smashed beer and coke cans. We struck a deal with the proprietor (I think I remember it was like $12) and he motioned us into his garage and pulled down the door so a passing MP patrol would not see us inside. The boss and an assistant began removing the softop, tail lights, seats, and anything else hanging off. He took notes about what unit lettering was on the bumpers, than roughly sanded down any lumps in the factory paint. He mixed up some dark olive paint - I found out later it was Black Market genuine US vehicle paint, cut 1:1 with diesel fuel! 😨 I also noticed that the compressor had a decal of crossed American and Vietnamese flags over two shaking hands, indicating the compressor was a gift from the US as an economic incentive. So coat one of two was setting, and in walks eight young local guys, what the GI's referred to as "Cowboys": during the day local bullies, and at night probably Viet Cong ("Charlie"). Tension skyrocketed. Our means of escape was sitting, sticky and seatless. My buddy and I knowingly made our way to the room corners by the overhead doors so nobody could get behind us, nodded to each other, and pulled out our 1911s from their holsters and just held them across our pants. Bully talk. We would not be easy marks. After a few minutes the Cowboys slowly left, but I'm sure they would be back later for their "cut" of the job. So a second coat was sprayed on, the assistant screwed all the "extras" back on, while the proprietor hand-lettered the unit designations on the bumpers, making it look exactly like the lettering was stenciled! About 2.5 hours later we were back on the road in a shiny, slightly darker "Jeep"; safe, with a ton of memories. Can't tell how the paint held up, as I was back home in 6 months, and the base was turned over to the South Vietnamese within a year.

I don't think I know what a single stage polyurethane is, or, for that matter, what a hybrid epoxy primer is, but wow the deep green shiny perfect paint job looks awesome. Mr Clint, you cannot be faulted for the highest standard.
