honestly, yea it was great for content i guess but personally i / my playgroup plays for the win even in casual EDH so i'd argue not killing him when he could do it with like no draw back at all was just a bit silly

I saw a pretty bad missed anti-interaction from Alex's side on this game... Dissipation Field triggers on any damage from any permanent, even your own. So tapping a painland or a Cephalid Coliseum for damage causes you to return the land to your hand.

Oh thank goodness, I knew I wasn't going crazy. As soon as I heard the Dissipation Field, I was like "Is he doing something weird with landfall from painlands?"

@@michaelculligan8439 Yes, I knew that was there too and that does help a bit, but there were a few times when he did tap the lands for damage too (but even with Yavimaya there, you have to be careful if you run Dissipation Field with lands that damage you).

I have a Preston the Vanisher reanimator deck that I would love to see played on a high power game! He is able to maintain value and keep up with a lot of other decks and doesn't feel like mono white.

5:37 when Skyhunter puts Kaldra onto the battlefield, it equips as part of the ability's resolution. Then Living Wrapon goes on the stack and equips it to the germ token, removing it from Balan. It didnt matter too much since Charles had 2 mana that he didnt use that round, but still worth pointing out

I wholeheartedly support the demonstration of more decks that do not include Godo/helm, Thoracle, Ad Naus, etc. Cedh is fun to watch but damn it gets old seeing the same 15 cards run every game regardless of deck.

I'd like to see a dice deck in a high powered game! I run Wyll, Blade of Frontiers and either Sword Coast Sailor or Candlekeep Sage and I have a blast with it. There are definitely ways to combo off or get some crazy value if you have some of the pricier mana rocks/other stuff to accelerate the board state. Ill post my list here if anyone is interested.

I have an Animar deck that can't go off until turn 4, but then it seems to find a Hullbreaker Horror that bounces Eldrazi, exiling and destroying my opponents boards, or death from Terror of the Peaks. Seems to fit this category.

at the point of typing this, I've only seen half the video. I've played vs Balan before, it can get massively stupid very quickly. I'm just wondering which commader would be better, Balan or Ardenn? Ardenn attaches for free. So I'm thinking Ardenn and Keleth as mono white partners, but I don't know. That ending to the video was awesome. massive respect to Charles for letting all the decks do their thing, he could have killed Josh easily way earlier.

I used to have a Wilson/Folk Hero deck but it was pretty slow on account of almost all the creatures being medium. I don't know if Kaldra Compleat could attach to Balan without activating their ability there, as the Living Weapon would trigger and attach it to a Germ Token, right?

So how it would work, the ETB would trigger to create a germ that it's attached to, but because of the ability on Armored Skyhunter, you have the choice of reattaching it to another creature when it comes in

@@kristopherwatts9466 All of Skyhunter's ability resolves before Living Weapon. The Kaldra enters, attaches to Balan then Living Weapon goes on the stack as an etb, resolves and creates a Germ attaching Kaldra Compleat to the token

That's a classic way to win with monogreen. Take all your opponents' stuff and only then kill them because every creature from your deck on the battlefield with infinite power is not enough. Very nice game!

How about a high power gameplay video but with a twist of tight budget restriction? I am pretty sure there are some commanders and decks out there that can function as fast as Barry Allen while being $50 (or $100 to make it easier for you competitive folks that knows no pain of budget, casual players).
