This video is such a tremendous example of peak of human achievement in their respective disciplines. How many untold hours of blood and sweat and sheer inhuman discipline goes into making such incredible champions. Thanks Wimbledon, for sharing this. A true testimony of human excellence at its finest
1970s= Björn Borg win 4 times Wimbledon in the 70s 1980s= John McEnroe win 3 times Wimbledon in the 80s 1990s= Pete Sampras 6 Times 2000s=Roger Federer 6 times 2010s=Novak Djokovic 5 Times
@@joshjones5062 um no. Murray is irrelevant compared to the b3. 3 grand slams compared to 16 which is the lowest of the b3. That's over 5 times the amount of grand slams Murray has
@@kakashihatake1029 we not talking about whole careers just wimbledon and most media impact was 2013 this years final between Federer and Novak close second but hey it just my opinion.
@@andreazonin Yeah. But Nadal-Federer Wimbledon 2008 final was better I think. Nadal being regarded as a clay courter beating the king of grass was epic. Usually clay courters suck at grass most often than not.
We are all very lucky people living in this legendary era of tennis giants. I don't think in future anyone can match with these legendary tennis players. We have witnessed one of the best tennis period from 2000 to 2020, may be it will continue for another 5 years from here on. Looking forward to add another 5 years of great tennis in my memories
@@jordanwilliams1740 There is no point in ifs. If Simona would be 5 cm taller she would probably be more dominant with her service games and would have 5+ GS titles but thinking that if is pointless also.
@Amanda Cerny If Serena - just like Roger Federer - didn't crumble under pressure on finals, she could have won more. It is not the first time it happened to her, nor the last. She would repeat the awesome-quarterfinal-awful-final two months later at the US Open 2019.
Not really though. I always go back to the 2012 semi final where Federer beat Djokovic in the semi final. Of course it is not shown here. Actually it is good that Djokovic won 5 wimbleodons. Federer is 3 clear of him anyway. Federer beat Novak in his prime in 2012 in Wimbleodon. So his legacy as the best wimbleodon player ever is safe. Some of the greatest matches in Wimbleodon history involve Federer. 2008 final with Nadal, 2009 final with Roddick, 2014 final with Djokovic and 2019 final with Djokovic again. Although Novak has the match with Rafa in 2018 semi final which is a classic as well.
@@ritapita1126 yes - it is not like Federer is 5 years older than Djokovic and Djokovic has time to close the gap.... seeing as no NextGen player is good on grass and Djokovic is better than Nadal on the surface
Murray winning two finals at Wimbledon, two Olympic golds and various honours, look how many grand slam finals he was in,but up against three of the best ever players, and he did beat them all fantastic
I just can't see Federer loosing 2 Wimbledon titles where he was a shot away from win........but kudos to Djokovic he is such competitive player......real dominance man.
@Amanda Cerny i agree. Not disrespectful to Novak, but I'm just saying the 3 losses Fed has v nole, hes at an age where until ten years ago, 95% of players would already retire. Fed haters forget age difference.
Maybe. Though he did beat Novak in 2012 in the semi. Though it appear Novak is now more stronger mentally on this surface. Only Andy Murray has managed to defeat him in a final.
Djokovic beating Federer 3 times on his best surface just shows how good he is. Which is not to say that Federer isn’t a great player, but Djokovic it still better.
Kvitova underachieved imo - her forehand and serve are two of the best weapons in the women's game; and definitely underachieved on the hard court US and Aus Opens. Hey, it's competitive out there, but still, 3 GS finals just doesn't do her talent justice.
I am glad that we got to see the best in 2008-2011. Then a dark patch for all the three & from then we are witnessing all the greatest three back in their form 2017-2019
That wimbledon 2019 final still hurts like hell I'm a big fan of both Djokovic and federer but oh boy I wanted federer to win But djokovic is a true champion
