just started trying to learn chess 1month ago, did some research and decided i wanted to stick to the vienna game and caro kann when possible and i must say this youtube channel has just been an absolute pleasure, so much free information and educational content feels almost illegal, Thank a lot IM Alex Banzea for the videos
Yeah, the Vienna is awesome. Most opponents below 1300 to 1400 have never faced it before and don't know their best moves. When you become a stronger player if you want to play more positionally check out the 3. g3 variation of the Vienna.
I'm really learning a ton from these last climbs. The quality of your explanations is becoming next level. I think that your teaching style is incredibly easy to follow and entertaining at the same time
Awesome lesson! your dry sense of humor cracks me up. Use to watch Levy but it seems he caters to a very young crowd, learning chess at an older age i really appreciate your videos, thank you! Your my favorite RU-vidr, most instructional by far & without all the middle school behavior.
Extremely entertaining and helpful. Your way of thinking is making me a better player. Waiting and being patient really makes a difference. Thanks for the video.
You know you have been really bingewatching Alex Banzea videos for the last couple of days (yeah im fairly new to this amazing channel) when you end up dreaming that Alex turns up at your sisters home to play some chess with you..... Yeah, no.. im still gonna re-watch some of the videos later to day. Haha Thanks for entertaining and informative videos!
man, i found your channel literally today. im in love, your humour is amazing and the advice is perfect. Will show my friends your account hopefully they'll appreciate it just as much. (loved the self destroy vid really helped me)
I checked out a lot of youtube channels to learn chess but yours is the best BY FAR! I love that you explain WHY you did or did not do certain moves. Keep it up! Great content
Amazing videos, really clear explanations mixed with humour. To me it seems you are overally a very talented teacher! I think i have taken the time to write a comment no more than 5 times in my entire life, so that's my compliment for the day! I wish i had more money to book a coaching session! Take care and keep growing!
Alex, I was watching another guy’s video including the London the other day. Some commenter complained that he was tired of watching the “boring” London and saying that the guy would not see enough pawn structures to be a good player. I responded by saying that most advice about chess I had seen and most of the instruction I’ve gotten suggested playing the same openings all the way to FM or IM level for the very reason that you see the same structures all the time and know how to play them. Then I copied one of your videos in one of your London rating climbs saying exactly the same thing. Thanks for helping me win the argument!
Thank you very much, Alex. Being a main Vienna & Caro-Kann player, I managed to climb a lot of elo lately, thanks to your content. Your content is really helpful and your ability to teach and explain things is amazing. Also, I love your calm ASMR-style voice hahah. Keep up the good work, man 👍👍👍
My friends and I are all new to chess. I'm using your advice on develop and keep it simple. Winning a lot. So when people say "life is chess, not checkers", I guess they mean put yourself in a good position and keep it simple.
Leuke videos Thomas! Een rating climb waarbij je begint op de 600 ELO ofzo en de fouten van de tegenstanders uitlegt om het ook voor beginners interressant te maken lijkt me erg leuk.
I have adapted myself to d4 ...london system ...earlier i used to play queens gambit ....but now i shifted to london .....just wanted to know is vienna a solid opening ....i know its quite risky for the opponent if they dont know the ins and outs of the vienna ....will try to give it a hand after seing all your videos on vienna ...just to develop a knack of the opening by seing you play this
hey alex, i bought the london course some time ago and i love it! i have my first ever tournament coming up in a month, its a student tournament. Any general or specific tips you have that can help me prepare or help me there? Its a 15:0 OTB 7 round open tournament. Thanks a lot for the youtube content and the course!
Your content is really good man. Really like seeing vids on Caro Kann and Vienna. Keep it up! What do you play with White when they try play French Defense?
Well done. When you find yourself trailing off, maybe bring it back to some main or sidelines that were not played? Sometimes you will say something like "everything other than d4 is a bad move here", and it would be great to see like the top 3 or 4 other moves and why they are bad. I find that I struggle with weird early gambit lines and and having trouble getting to 1400. I started at around 900, quickly hit 1200... and it has been a mutli year slog to 1400.
My man in the third game really gave a pep talk, got married, became a father then divorced, disowned his children and came back to finish the game with us.
Hey Alex. I’m brand new to chess? What openings do you suggest for white? I’m already doing Caro Kann + kings Indian for black. I like the London but I find it a bit boring… please give me your advice bro 🎉
Alex your english your humore your lectures is just beautifully orchestrated pls keep them coming we love alex benenza who has something to say to alex come to me 💪
Wait - a League analogy? Well I liked you before, but NOW you are kind of like myself! Well, besides that you are successful in chess. And possibly also in League. And younger. So, totally like myself, but different! :D Keep it up! Bought your London course, looking forward to Caro! Would you say that the videos to your courses on Chessable are worth it? I mean, it is quite an investment.. Anyways, good stuff Alex
Have a question when watching Alex Banzea PLaying is he playing against a random player/ or against the computer? I have learned a lot from watching his videos. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
At 5:20 wouldn't it have been better to play d5 instead? If he takes your bishop, you take his night, with a discovered attack on his queen His queen has to move to either b8 or c8 Then you take the pawn on b7: If his queen is on c8, it's forked with the rook If it's on b8, his rook moves to a7, then bishop to d4 should win the rook If there's a flaw, kindly enlighten me
can u please do a speed run climb using hippo for both, white and black and the stonewall? and how do u find these systems? i think the hippo is indestructible wall of defense and venom.
I love your videos Alex, and your humor and your accent, so much better than Levy;s :P :P .. but for some reason i feel your audio volume could be higher, sometimes its pretty feeble
I know this is an old post, but I play the Semi-Slav against d4. I believe that a reverse Sicilian is the best against the English. There is also a way to attack the London aggressively if that keeps frustrating you. Hope this helps.
Love your content Alex and always post a THUMBS UP. I have a SUGGESTION - I often screw up in the opening after seeing an opportunity to attack and attacking too soon. Especially with the Jojoba London. Why not teach us how to KNOW when to attack and when to develop? I am rated 1200.
Games are won or lost on who makes the most blunders. The trick I have found teaching junior players is to get them to scan the board looking for unprotected pieces (on your side and your opponents side). The more you practice this the better (& quicker) you will get. Take your time considering your next move and don't jump at the first move you see. Study the board "and look for a better move". If you act in haste you will repent in your leisure. Lol
