3 tips to Win More Doubles Matches with better doubles strategy:
1. Play both back when returning serve if returner is struggling to keep ball away from server’s partner
2. When your partner is in moving off the court, move with them and back slightly
3. When at the net with a high ball, be sure to hit toward the person with less time to react (the opposing net player)

What happens when you are moving back into no man's land and moving across and fool you and do a drop shot or angle it off Ryan?
@2MinuteTennis
@2MinuteTennis Год назад
There’s nothing you can do. If you stay up they spam you. If you move back they angle and dink. But 95% of the time they don’t angle and dink. People want to crush the ball not dink.

I started my website back in 2014 with only 2 minute videos. When I started growing on Instagram, ticktok, and YT I just kept the name. No different than Facebook isn’t a “book of faces”. As it evolved over the past 15 years it kept the name. Thanks!!

good stuff ...btw, Zhu is a Chinese name and from its spelling I can tell he is from Mainland China (as opposed to Taiwan where there is another way to spell the same name) ... and it is pronounced "Ju" ... not zoo ...end of PSA ;-)

The biggest problem in women's doubles for me and my partner is the opponents that "push" the ball, get every ball back, place it well with no pace. We are hitting the ball with pace and making the errors. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Thanks!
@ScottBenson2
@ScottBenson2 3 года назад
You should both come to the net at the earliest opportunity to put pressure on them. If they keep hitting it softly back to you, then you can step in and easily put away the volley. If they try to go for harder passing shots, they'll likely start missing more. And if they start to lob you, just be prepared to step back and take the overhead if possible.

what if I move to the baseline when the opponent serves, my partner returns towards the opposing netplayer and since I'm in the back, the netplayer can then volley short diagonally; does this happen often, or to prevent this maybe start a bit more in front of the base line?
@2MinuteTennis
@2MinuteTennis 6 месяцев назад
That rarely happens. Moving back to no man’s is an option as well.
@jassay6435
@jassay6435 Год назад
but if the SP person lob the ball at the baseline in your side, you guys hardly cover it (you are both approaching to the net)

your examples assume that the players are roughly equal. can you do some strategy for situations where there are significant skill differences between the players? for example: how to play the net when your partner has a terrible weakass serve?
@2MinuteTennis
@2MinuteTennis Год назад
Haha if that’s the case play both back. Don’t stand at Net and get crushed. Play defense by playing back at baseline.
