Welcome to the prize draw for this British Icon.
This is a matching numbers 1969 Norton Commando 750. It has been professionally restored to be useable on modern roads.
It has the essential addition of period style indicators and as the brief was to build a bike for touring Europe it has a long range tank from the Interstate model. It also has electronic ignition and to improve handling it has uprated shock absorbers and a steering damper. It has a PW3 Camshaft, a belt primary and it has stainless steel rims and spokes. It starts first kick and rides superbly. It is a credit to the talented gentleman who rebuilt this bike with love and care.
The Norton Commando is a British Norton-Villiers motorcycle with an OHV pre-unit parallel-twin engine, produced by the Norton Motorcycle company from 1967 until 1977. Initially having a nominal 750 cc displacement, in 1973 it became an 850 cc.
During its ten years of production, the Commando was popular all over the world. In the United Kingdom it won the Motor Cycle News “Machine of the Year” award for five successive years from 1968 to 1972.
